Today, Mystic Mag had the opportunity to interview Sherrie Dillard, Psychic Reader and Writer, who kindly agreed to tell us a bit about her career, how it developed, and what she loves most about her profession.
When did you first know that being a psychic medium was your calling and how did it come about?
Once I was old enough to understand what a psychic medium was and what they do, a part of me knew that I would work with others in this way. However, I resisted it for several years. Even though I was having extrasensory and intuitive experiences and saw and communicated with those on the other side, I didn’t like the idea of being a psychic. After injuries from a car accident ended my career as an artist, I started giving professional readings. That was over thirty years ago.
I joke and say that I came into this work because this was all I was good at, yet there is some truth to this. I enjoy and am good at communicating with those on the other side and accessing psychic energy information.
What services do you offer?
I’ve written several books and spend a lot of time writing. I teach classes and workshops on intuitive, medium and psychic development and medical intuition. I see clients for individual sessions and offer psychic, medium and medical intuitive sessions and psychic and intuitive and business mentoring.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?
Most clients want to initially listen to the information and insights I receive. These might be messages to help with challenges they are confronting or spiritual guidance on current concerns or positive support and comfort. A reading tends to address common concerns that include such things as direction in life or career path, relationship issues, health, communicating with a loved one on the other side and a look into the future
Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
The difficult readings have more to do with the individual’s attitude than the topic. If people are fearful or don’t trust psychics, it can be a challenge to access energy information. We pull in and close our hearts when we are fearful and stressed. It can feel like an energetic tug of war between me and the client when they say they want a reading but hold tight and don’t let me in.
What can a person expect from a reading?
It is my hope that my clients will feel more whole, understood and inspired after a session. Of course it’s essential to communicate clear and specific guidance and information for my clients about their practical day to day challenges and issues. However there is also a certain magic that happens during readings. When we connect with spiritual presence we can feel uplifted, known and loved.The issues that we confront in our daily lives have meaning and purpose. Our choices and actions are a part of our soul path and help us to expand our self awareness and increase our love for ourselves and others. Healing on deep levels often occurs during a reading.
What is the best part of your job?
Connecting to the love and wisdom of the spirit realm and getting to do this in the company of sincere seekers is a joy. I feel incredibly blessed that I am able to be a part of the synergy that occurs between my clients and the divine. There are moments in sessions when I witness the connection of love and trust that my client makes with the unseen and the spirit realm. Suddenly the unknown becomes the known and Spirit becomes less abstract and the potential for a genuine devoted relationship develops.
