In an exclusive interview with MysticMag, founder Sakura Rose shares how this movement revives the tradition of Red Tents, providing a nurturing space for women to reconnect with their inner power through rites of passage, womb healing, and spiritual leadership. Through immersive retreats, in-depth training, and transformational programs, women are guided to reclaim their authentic selves, deepen their intuition, and step into leadership roles.

What inspired the founding of the Red Tent Mystery School, and how has it evolved into a global sisterhood community and school?
Red Tent Mystery School’s founding members shared a similar vision to revive and popularize the modern-day Red Tent – a place where women can gather to learn, share, and grow within the Feminine Mysteries. A place where women can support one another and honor the Rites of Passage we experience throughout all phases of the feminine lifecycle from Maiden to Crone.
Sakura has a physical Red Tent (Red Lotus Belle Canvas Tent) she brought to festivals and events to create a safe and sacred space of comfort for women to gather, and for women who were bleeding to have a place to rest and feel nourished.
The founders then decided to collaborate on bringing the Red Tent to a global stage by offering women’s circles and Rites of Passage within a virtual Red Tent to reach more women, evolving into offering retreats and training programs.
Can you elaborate on the range of programs offered, including the Red Tent Temple Training, and how these programs benefit participants?
Our programs offer a weaving of scientific and spiritual teachings focalized around womb healing. We offer 3-day workshops such as Womb Oracle and Womb Initiation Retreats which provide women a re-initiation into womanhood and a re-writing of our menarche story. Many women carry threads of guilt and shame around their menstrual blood we call “moonblood” and their sexuality or body and we work to release these limiting beliefs.
Women have described these experiences as life-changing, stepping into their authentic selves, and remembering who they are which is linked to feeling the essence of their soul. Our 9-month program called Red Tent Temple Training is a deep dive into womb healing and a path of leadership.
In this certification program, women develop the depth of skills needed to hold their own circles/workshops/ceremonies using their unique skillsets and gifts. This program gives women the confidence to birth their dreams into reality, hold trauma-informed space, and really shine. Further roll-out of programs will include girl and teen programs, programs for women transitioning into Motherhood, and for women in the perimenopause and menopause phases of life. We envision the school to expand into the leading educational institution for womb healing and feminine-related study with a diverse array of faculty.
How does the Red Tent Mystery School integrate traditional women’s wisdom with contemporary practices to support personal and collective transformation?
Our teachings fuse combinations of physiological, evidence-based, and science-based teachings and mystical, ancient wisdom. Examples of physiological, evidence, and science-based teachings range from hormonal changes in puberty, pregnancy,,y and menopause as well as hormonal imbalances, sexual reproductive health challenges, female anatomy, herbalism, the hormonal shifts within the menstrual cycle, psychological work, and so much more.
Examples of mystical and ancient wisdom include the spiritual aspect and meaning of puberty, pregnancy, menopause, archetypal wisdom, Goddess worship, cross-cultural mythology, astrology, and mystery teachings. Much of the work is focused on embodiment practices and at-home “soulwork”. By actually having lived experiences and not just listening to lectures we call “wisdom teachings”, women can have their own experience which results in the information to land fully and have an experience of transformation.
Ritual is a big part of what we share and encourage, the mindfulness around thoughtful intention and manifestation practices. We do shadow work together, revealing parts of the subconscious to be known, felt, and transmuted. We work on ancestral lineage healing, repatterning, facing fears, uncovering our unique gifts, and getting clear on our goals – our purpose, mission, and values in our life, and so much more!
Could you share a success story where participation in your programs significantly impacted an individual’s personal growth or community involvement?
Every time I receive feedback, I am in awe of and humbled by the power of Womb Work. For example, one of my students just recently messaged: “My relationship to my womb and my body has shifted and grown immensely. My bleeds (periods) arrive like clockwork now with zero cramps/pain and my blood has returned to a vital healthy rich red color. {After struggling with obesity and food addictions}, I’ve lost 60 pounds and I attribute this to tuning into my body’s frequency and listening to her whispers, opening my ears to her voice that has always been speaking to me and ACTUALLY listening.
Cultivating a deep relationship with my womb has strengthened my intuition, receptivity, creativity, and ability to clear trauma imprints.” This student is now supporting women in her community as a leader and I am so inspired by the ripples this work is having on the future of humanity as we co-create the future world together that is rooted in love, held strongly in integrity, and our personal values.
Another student who recently certified “Womb Guide” through our certification program shares, “I am profoundly grateful for the deep transformation I’ve experienced. Through the program’s exploration of womb wisdom and embodiment practices, I’ve not only gained profound insights into myself but also learned practical tools to integrate these teachings into my daily life. Under the nurturing guidance of the RTMS, I’ve discovered a newfound confidence and purpose in stepping into this role as a leader to other women, uncovering my own magical medicine along the way.

What role does the Vancouver-based headquarters play in serving both local and international communities, and how do you foster connections among participants globally?
Our current cohort of women enrolled in our yearly Temple Training Program has women from across North America, Australia, and Europe and we hope to extend the reach of women in more parts of the world in future cohorts. Women in this program are getting to know each other on intimate levels as we share in council together. We often host free offerings that are advertised through social media which garners attendees from all over the world.
It’s incredible how we can serve our local community in British Columbia, Canada through in-person retreats and attending festivals as well as reach a growing global sisterhood within the virtual Red Tent!
