In a recent interview with MysticMag, Nicola Fernandes, a Self-Love Mentor, shared profound insights into her unique approach to personal growth, taking individuals on a transformative journey of self-discovery and healing.
Distinguishing between her group program, Joyful You, and her one-on-one mentorship, Nicola emphasizes a six-month commitment to guide individuals in rediscovering their authentic selves. Specializing in working with high achievers, she addresses internal needs for change, assisting clients in overcoming past traumas and subconscious programming.
Nicola’s approach extends beyond conventional practices, tapping into the invisible realms of the heart, spiritual guides, and connections to past and future selves, ultimately aiming to foster genuine joy, fulfillment, and empowerment.
Can you share additional details regarding the Self-Love Mentorship as well as Joyful You and its purpose?
Certainly. The main distinction lies in the format, where Joyful You is a group program, and the mentorship is one-on-one. Both programs span six months. My focus is on guiding individuals to rediscover their true selves, especially those who recognize that their dissatisfaction with life stems from an internal need for change, rather than external factors. I work extensively with high achievers, assisting them in overcoming past traumas, releasing subconscious programming, and facilitating their journey towards becoming their best selves.
Many of my clients already lead fulfilling lives, but they sense there’s untapped potential they can’t access independently. My company, Self Love with Nicola, centers around helping individuals find self-love and letting go of anything that no longer serves them – be it anxiety, self-doubt, or old narratives. The goal is to cultivate a life that authentically works, moving beyond mere external behaviors like healthy eating and exercise to genuinely transform into a new, empowered person.
In this process, we tap into different realms of the invisible world – the heart, spiritual guides, the higher self, and even connections to one’s past, younger self, and future self. Utilizing these invisible helpers, we work together to craft a wholly new life. The overarching aim is to live abundantly, in joy, with attention to health and financial well-being. It’s about bringing genuine joy and fulfillment, allowing individuals to embody the person they’ve always aspired to be.
How did you discover the path of shamanic healing and what drew you to it?
My journey into shamanic healing began during a time when I was enjoying considerable success in New York City, working on Times Square from the 43rd floor. I had a comfortable lifestyle with a live-in nanny, socializing regularly, and seemingly living the dream. However, everything changed when my second child was born and diagnosed with autism. The medical community couldn’t provide clear answers or solutions, thrusting me into a realm of uncertainty.
This pivotal moment led me to explore alternative possibilities for healing. I attended seminars, often spanning up to a month, with my husband’s unwavering support holding down the fort at home. What struck me as extraordinary was that upon returning from these seminars, my daughter’s condition would noticeably improve, as validated by medical tests. This tangible transformation underscored a profound realization – everything in life presents an opportunity for learning, and by reshaping one’s perspective, transformative shifts can occur.
Motivated by the remarkable progress my daughter experienced, I delved deeper into the principles of shamanic healing. Witnessing her continued journey with autism, yet embracing a strong belief in herself, became a powerful example. Even at 22, she maintains a high level of functionality. At the age of 15, she aspired to be an actress, despite societal reservations about the challenges. Her unwavering confidence in manifesting her dreams taught me a valuable lesson.
Today, my desire is to share these teachings with others. The techniques I’ve acquired serve as tools to facilitate this process, making it more accessible for individuals. However, the essence lies in a simple yet profound truth – stepping into the identity of the person you aspire to be, feeling it, and embodying that new self.
Can you share a brief overview of the specific healing modalities or techniques you use in shamanic practice?
Absolutely. In my shamanic practice, I employ various healing modalities and techniques, each with its own designated purpose. These techniques include solid and liquid extractions, past life healing, future healing, creating one’s future self, ancestors and lineage healing, and elevating passed-over loved ones to a higher plane for their next lifetime in an elevated state. Additionally, I engage in clearing timelines, purifying houses and land, and establishing sacred sites.
It’s important to note that while these techniques have specific names, they are essential tools within the practice. Much like hiring a cleaning service, where you focus on the results rather than the specific products used, the effectiveness of these tools lies in their outcome and how they resonate with the individual. The invisible world, in essence, involves clearing energetic blockages to facilitate forward movement.
While I have a repertoire of tools, including accessing the Akashic Records, the real essence lies in the intuition and guidance I receive. It’s about using my innate understanding and connection with my guides to discern the unique needs of each person and determine the right path for their healing journey. Ultimately, the key tool is leveraging intuition to navigate the healing process in a way that aligns with the individual’s needs and goals.
What kind of transformations have you witnessed in your clients through shamanic healing sessions?
The most significant transformation I witness in my clients revolves around cultivating a positive outlook on life. They rediscover belief in themselves, experience a sense of well-being, and increasingly adopt a mindset of seeing the glass half full. For instance, one client, upon being offered a CEO position, realized that it wasn’t aligned with her true desires, showcasing a newfound clarity in decision-making.
Among my clients, there are those who witness improved relationships with their children, both neurotypical and neurodiverse. One remarkable instance involves a client with a child on the autism spectrum who has seen a substantial improvement in their relationship. Another single mother, navigating the challenges of divorce and guilt, discovered joy and pleasure in life through our sessions.
I often emphasize the concept that life is in constant flux, much like riding a bicycle. When you’re not actively pedaling, it may feel like you’re stationary, but in reality, you’re gradually slowing down. The key is to ensure that you’re spiraling up, actively making choices that lead to an ever-improving life. My clients experience this upward trajectory, witnessing positive developments in various aspects of their lives. They become magnetic, attracting opportunities, and confidently saying yes or no to align with their true desires.
Ultimately, the crux of the transformation lies in embracing a choice to feel good in life. It’s about avoiding the trap of perpetual wanting and finding contentment in the present moment. This may sound simple, but it’s a profound shift that requires addressing and clearing patterns in the lower mind, the part that says certain things are not possible. The significant work lies in uncovering the origins of these limiting beliefs, working through them, and letting go, thus paving the way for a transformative shift in the lower mind.
In your perspective, what role does spirituality play in the healing process, particularly within the context of shamanic practices?
To delve into the role of spirituality in the healing process, it’s crucial to first define spirituality. From my perspective, spirituality involves acknowledging the existence of an unseen world, recognizing the influence of energies on our lives, and establishing connections with these energies on various levels. These energies can encompass the consciousness of our bodies, our guides, angels, and everything beyond the visible realm.
The essence lies in moving beyond the tangible and trusting in the belief that there is a vast, unseen support system. It goes beyond the immediate physical reality—like the tangible presence of a phone—and opens up to a broader understanding of the world around us. Embracing the idea that there is more assistance available than meets the eye is a transformative aspect of the healing journey.
In the realm of shamanic practices, the acknowledgment and interaction with different energies play a significant role. For instance, when we read tarot cards, we interpret the stories they tell, understanding that the selection of each card is not accidental. It’s about trusting the guidance from the invisible world and recognizing how it manifests in the real world through these symbolic representations.
Shamanic practices involve actively engaging with the invisible world. For example, when making a fire, we call upon spirits to participate, allowing them to utilize the light of the fire. It’s about entering a dance between the world we perceive and the vast, unseen dimensions that exist beyond our immediate senses. Trusting in the invisible world is at the core of shamanic practices, facilitating a profound transformation in the healing process.
