This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Miriam Slozberg, Author, Astrologer & Tarot Reader. We spoke about her beginnings, how she behaves when she sees something bad in client’s future, and what she loves most about her job.
When did you first realize you have a psychic gift?
I always knew I sensed things before they happened, and I was always intuitive, even since I was young. However, I was always “different” and a target of bullying because of it. I never fit in, and I still don’t.
The difference is, back then, it was devastating to me. But now, I love it. I predicted certain things that did end up happening when I was in my teens, such as a child’s birthdate.
I also loved going to psychic fairs when I was a teenager. However, I did not start acknowledging and honing my gifts until my daughter was born in 2002. That massive transformation shifted me towards that.
After that, I got into astrology and tarot, which are excellent tools that help me hone my intuition and psychic abilities.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?
I find that many people want past life readings, which I can do with both astrology and tarot. There are factors in astrological charts that help me see their past lives, which seems to be the most popular type of reading.
Everyone has challenges in life, and some have it more than others because of past life issues to balance out and the soul wanting to learn new lessons rather quickly for evolution.
But it often causes people to bite off more than they can chew, which is a huge factor in mental illness. I know this first hand. But the thing is, people want past life readings to understand the reason behind their challenges, and it helps to quell their curiosity. If they have a difficult life now, and if they did things in previous lives that caused them to balance things out in their current life, then that seems to help them accept their lives.
Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
I find relationship readings challenging, whether they have to do with interpreting synastry charts or tarot readings for relationships. It is hard for the querent to accept that their current relationship appears strained and does not look promising. However, I get it because I have been there too.
I also tell them that just because I don’t see it working out does not mean it won’t. I make it clear that they have free will.
What can a person expect from a reading?
Well, I don’t sugarcoat anything. If I feel or see something the querent may not like, I will tell them, but with a caveat. There is a way to convey unsettling news that does not rattle the querent.
So, therefore, they can expect honesty, insight, and empathy. And yes, I am accurate but will not put a percentage because I don’t know. I am usually precise but not perfect since I am human. So I do miss the mark sometimes.
Should you see something bad in someone’s future, how do you go about dealing with that situation?
As I mentioned in the point above, I have a way to convey unsettling news. For instance, if I notice that someone’s health is not good through an astrology reading, it is not ethical to tell them that. I will say I have concerns based on what I see at the moment.
I also say it could be nothing, but it is a good idea to get checked by your doctor. I do not do health readings, but things do pop up regarding astrology readings. I also do not do readings regarding pregnancy, divorce, finances, or anything related to the law.
People need to consult doctors for health, financial advisors for financial concerns, and lawyers for anything legal. Not a tarot reader or an astrologer.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy knowing that the insight that I give to someone through reading has been able to help them make better decisions and to help provide the clarity they need in life. If I can help someone, that makes awesome!
