Unraveling the Mystery of Migraines: A Holistic Approach by Keri Fulmore

Unraveling the Mystery of Migraines: A Holistic Approach by Keri Fulmore

In this exclusive interview with Mystic Mag, we delve into the world of holistic healing and migraine relief with Keri Fulmore. A seasoned practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Herbalism, and Functional Medicine, Keri shares her personal journey of overcoming chronic migraines and her profound insights into alternative healing methods.

How did your early experiences with migraines lead you to explore holistic healing?

From a very young age I had been experiencing migraine headaches. I would sometimes get migraine headaches as often as once per week, which would cause me to miss school or suffer through class in order to not miss as much school. I went to the Doctor and was told that my migraines were genetic and that there was nothing I could do about it. My parents decided to try Chiropractic and although that would provide me some relief, it did not solve the problem.

I would say that having Migraines led me down the path of searching for something more. I knew that if Western Medicine could not give me answers that there had to be alternative ways of working with my migraines. I guess you could say that I had a curious mind and did not accept the answer that my migraines were genetic and life long. I know now that this knowing that there was something missing was my intuition guiding me to dive deeper.

This led me down the path of studying Acupuncture and Herbology with the Oshio College of Chinese Medicine. Chinese Medicine has a different way of looking at the body and this opened up a whole new world of diving deeper into Holisitic Health Sciences. Not only did Chinese Medicine help me to understand that the body was intricately connected, but that whole health could not be divided into basic syndromes and that there was always a deeper meaning or reason for health issues than a diagnosis.

Can you describe the moment you realized your migraines were caused by food intolerances and how that changed your approach to health?

When I was in Chinese Medicine School I was working at a health food store at the same time called Life Style Markets. One of the things that came across my awareness was the effect of foods on our gut and immune system. I suddenly heard a voice tell me I was 100 percent intolerant to Wheat and Oranges.

I didn’t quite recognize this as my intuition at that time, but I immediately cut out those 2 foods. It was an immediate stop to my migraines. After I got results I realized that I was hearing my inner voice. I suddenly had this realization that my inner voice had been speaking to me my whole life and I didn’t even know it. Our intuition can show up the same way we hear our thoughts in our head. It can be easily missed for just thoughts.

But, I learned very quickly that when I asked a question, the very first thoughts I had were my intuition. I learned that if I took action and if I trusted that voice it was very rarely wrong. That intuitive voice became my best friend and is my first line of action when I have questions about my health, wealth, relationships, career and more.

How has your training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Herbalism, and Functional Medicine shaped your ability to help clients?

I always tell people that my education in TCM and Functional Medicine allows me to blend Holistic Health Sciences with Intuition. In other words, TCM and Functional Medicine gave me a solid road map to root causes for illness as well as a significant understanding of how the body works. I use this in my Intuitive Readings to dive deeper into what I am seeing and hearing when I connect with a client’s energy and body.

For example, if my clients body is directing me to their liver, I can ask their body to show me things like their liver enzymes, detox pathways, emotional trauma that is being stored there and even bile flow etc. Holistic Health Sciences has led me to also be able to create a tailored protocol or supplement suggestions for my clients that is based in science.

What role does your intuition play in identifying root causes of illness in your clients?

When I connect to a client’s body to do a health reading I first say a prayer to ensure that I am connected with them specifically. After that I allow the body to show me what I need to know about their health. What areas come up is where I focus. I find that my intuition leads me to things that are not often spoken about in Western Medicine such as Mold, parasites, chronic bacterial and viral pathogens, toxins and even the internal emotions and blockages that are holding space for a dis-ease process to take place.

I always tell my clients that we are an energy body before we are physical. I have found that all physical symptoms that are chronic begin in the emotional, mental energy levels before they get to the physical. For example, I had a neck brain injury 12 years ago that left me in body wide chronic pain.

It gave me burning and stinging all over my body from head to toe. I tried all the physical things that my intuition was guiding me towards for healing, but it wasn’t until I began to listen to the emotional turmoil of not loving my body and changing that paradigm that I began to heal. I had to heal on both the physical and emotional at the same time to get my body to finally balance.

How do you integrate Medical Intuitive Readings with the knowledge from your formal health education?

I will first do an intuitive reading and allow for a person’s body to show me what we need to know. I ask the person’s body many questions and once I have determined a root cause, I am then able to put together a protocol based in Functional Medicine to treat the underlying cause. I feel this is important as I am able to understand how certain herbs and supplements work with a person’s body and even if there are any drug interactions to be aware of.

What advice would you give to someone struggling with chronic health issues and looking for alternative healing methods?

Get acquainted with your intuition. Sit in a quiet place and take some deep breaths. This will help calm the noise in your mind and relax your body into a parasympathetic state where it is easier to hear your intuition. Focus next on something that brings you unconditional love and joy. This energy of love is the frequency we can best hear our intuition. Ask the question you need to know. Next, be aware of the first answers you receive. Lastly, take action.

If you have chronic health issues and are open to alternative healing modalities, ask your intuition which person or modality will best suit you.

When I had my neck and brain injury I asked my intuition to show me who best to help me after hearing I needed to heal my brain. I didn’t feel right away that I got an answer, but when I opened my computer onto social media there was an add for Functional Neurology (brain retraining) and every hair stood up on my arms. I know for certain in that moment that my intuition had to show me rather than tell me. I knew I had to do it at the same time as loving myself unconditionally.

Be aware of the signs around you. If it pulls you in, go for it.
