This week we had the opportunity to speak with Kelley Eckhardt: a professional Evidential Psychic Medium with years of experience. She has been blessed with unique abilities that allow her to connect to the spiritual realm, and today she shares details about her professional life.
What inspired you to start your psychic reading business?
It goes back to my child. I have three kids, and I had the gift of mediumship my whole life. One of my children was also born with this gift, and he was struggling with understanding this ability, just as I was when I was young. I wanted to learn all about it so I could help my child – I didn’t want him to grow up with the same fear I had. Through developing and learning about it I fell in love with it. I knew that this is what I was supposed to be doing.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for, and what are the most common concerns that interest them?
The most popular would be the mediumship, where I connect with their loved ones who have passed over. I think the biggest concerns are: are they ok, are they safe, are they not alone and are they at peace? I also help others on their path to self-discovery, happiness, and love.
Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
Psychic readings are a way for you to seek some insight, based on where you are headed on your life path at this moment and where you could end up if you continue in the same direction. Readings are a little bit more demanding when somebody is in distress. Generally, psychics deliver messages that you need to know, not necessarily the ones you want to know. For example, a client can be overwhelmed or blown away from what they hear, which makes the reading more difficult.
Some of the psychic readings are still performed in person. What about you? How has your work been affected by the pandemic?
It actually has not been negatively affected at all. If anything it’s been affected in a good way. I seem to have a lot more business, and a lot more people are doing Zoom than before, which I really enjoy.
What advice would you give to a new psychic reader, is it better for them to work independently or as a part of a team?
It’s a matter of personal preference. I prefer to work on my own, but I know many people who have worked for a crystal store, started on a web site even, where they felt that was best for them. I think that each individual person because we are all unique and different, has to do what’s right for them.
What is the best part of your job?
The part I enjoy the most is seeing that sense of relief, that sense of closure and peace that I give to my clients. This can help in the grieving process, provide some insight into any unfinished business with your loved ones, and peace of mind knowing that they are still with you.
What is the most important detail of maintaining a relationship of mutual trust with customers?
I would say that the relationship of trust depends on three things: authenticity, honesty, and reliability.
In this field, it is often thought that word of mouth and personal recommendations are most important when picking a psychic reader. Do you believe this is true or not?
I do believe that this is true. I would say that 75 percent of my business is word of mouth. But it’s not just that, the majority of my business is mediumship – I do psychic work too, but mediumship is the bulk of it. I strongly believe that the spiritual community is what brings my clients to me. People find me in the strangest ways because spirit brought them to me. I have built a relationship with the spirit world, they know that I am the right medium for their family.
