We had the opportunity to talk with Kayhan Ghodsi, a Spiritual Teacher, Healer and Clairvoyant that was born in Iran and lives in the US for more than four decades. Know more about his amazing story, work and knowledge. Here’s his website: kayhanghodsi.com
Please tell me about your trajectory from Iran to the US and the development of your technique
I left Iran in 1973, when I was 19 and went to France. I graduated college over there and came to San Francisco to continue studying. I was a filmmaking student. After college, I was a war reporter in the Middle East for 3 years with my former wife.
Once I came back to the US, I decided that war reporting and that kind of filmmaking wasn’t my stuff really. I started working at Hyatt Regency in San Francisco as a food and beverage manager in 1984.
In 1997 I met my teacher in San Rafael, California. That was a Healing Church, called Church of Aesclepion. I met them through Berkeley Psychic Institute, where I decided to take meditation classes. I ended up in San Rafael and that’s where they taught me clairvoyance and I started teaching it on my own after that. So, that’s how I came to the clairvoyance part.
I am curious about your book Nine Steps to Heaven. What is it about?
The idea that religion puts in the society and we consume is that there’s a place called Heaven, somewhere else where you might get when you die. Well, this is a big lie. According to every teaching you look at, including Christ’s teachings, it is somewhere we are from. This is not a place you leave and then come back – you are always there.
As [1976 book] A Course in Miracles says, we spend all day proving to ourselves that we are who we are not. We tell ourselves that Heaven is somewhere else and that we cannot be there until we die. So, there are ways to turn on what you turned off and realize where you are and who you are. The best definition to me is that you are an idea in God’s mind. Once you realize that, you start to realize that you are in Heaven and that you are the one you’re looking for. An idea is never far away from the mind that created it.
Nine Steps to Heaven is a workbook that allows you to realize that you can be in Heaven without having to die or submit to religions and to pictures of guilt and to believe that you can actually commit a sin. So, this workbook takes you step by step to get another perspective of yourself and to see yourself as a creator.
There are three things we can do with everything that happens to us in life: firstly, to externalize it: say it was somebody else’s fault and turn it into karma. Secondly, deny that it ever happened and cover it in unconscious energy and put it aside, because it is so painful– that’s very common among abused women, for example.
Finally, you can see yourself as the creator of it. This is the only scenario where you can actually change that thing, because now you are the creator, not the victim, and are not denying that it ever happened. So, that’s a good step to start with: to see yourself as the creator of your own life.
What you are experiencing today is what you were looking to experience yesterday. What would you like to experience tomorrow? Rather than being an unconscious creator, you start being a deliberate creator. So, that would be step one.
At the end of every chapter, there’s a little meditation and I also have a CD on Amazon that has more elaborate meditation that goes with those nine chapters. It’s only a 10-minute meditation, so it doesn’t take much time.
How is your daily working routine?
Well, I do a lot of things now that I have retired from my career day job. I was in the restaurant business for many years. Now, I basically only teach, do psychic readings and make appointments through my website. Then, I spend a lot of time in my artwork – I do calligraphy and photography.
I also started three years ago designing t-shirts with spiritual messages on them (wizardshirts.com). I have a lot of designs and a lot of people like them. It really feels good when you wear them, since you tell other people what your inspirations are.
My students come in the afternoon and we work in whatever settings they want to change through meditation.
Did you notice any changes in the people around you (like your students) about the pandemic: anxiety fears…?
I think what it did to everybody was to give another perspective of life that they didn’t think it was possible [to have]. That was a really good wake-up call.
What advice would you give to a fledging psychic reader? Is it better for them to work independently or as a part of a team?
I see people of all different ages and backgrounds in church taking clairvoyant classes and everybody comes out a different person. We are all here to have some certain kind of experiences. We pursue them and they are unique as fingerprints.
Someone might work well in groups and partner organization while some might not. Also, not everybody teaches the same thing. A Course in Miracles says: the minute you realize what is good for you is the same thing that is good for your brother, you will become a teacher of God. And God will send you students, and you will teach them what you need to learn yourself. If you judge these students, they will learn what you are teaching, but you will not.
Everybody is psychic but when we are kids they usually tell us to tell it off. At some point, you go and turn it back on. At that moment you go for a reason, something takes you there, and that becomes the reason why you started the whole thing – but that doesn’t mean it will end there.
I went in because I really wanted to learn how to talk to people who didn’t have physical body – that was my goal. Once I could do that, it just opened other doors for me and I started learning and teaching other things.
In which manner do you think the current remote routine of meetings differ from personal contact?
As far as reading goes, it does not happen in the physical plane of existence. So, it really doesn’t matter if you are here or not, I will bring you here and I will read you. Even if you were here, I would do the same thing: look at you, close my eyes and read your energy.
As far as your experience of this reading, it does feel different if you are sitting in the energy I am sitting in. But the information that you get is the same because it has nothing to do with your body being here or not.
Do you have a message for our readers in this difficult time?
The message is the same everyday: before you took your first breath, you did not exist. You came and connected to this body and they said ‘we have him/her’.
So, your job in this life is not to have this or do that, but to be yourself. The more minutes of the day you are yourself, you feel successful. The more you stop being yourself and be other people, you’ll feel unsuccessful.
So, look for yourself, be yourself and enjoy being yourself, because this is the experience you came to have.
