Can you tell us about your journey into the world of healing and how you discovered your ability to channel energy for healing work?
In 2004, a pregnant colleague asked me for some “healing” as she was experiencing persistent back pain. I started with massage and then intuitively held my hands over the affected area for a few minutes. She immediately felt a warm sensation and described that the pain had left. I was amazed at this discovery and experience which became the catalyst for my journey into the world of energy medicine and Reiki training.
What was the most significant experience or moment that made you realize the power of Reiki and its impact on healing?
The most memorable was my first experience but every session since then has been equally significant.
There have been many life changing healing sessions as shared by my clients. The most general ones are as follows:
Intuitive visions and messages from spirit which brought clarity and guidance.
A relaxing experience and a general feeling of peace and wellbeing.
The ease of chronic pain
Many clients that were feeling stuck with no clear way forward, left feeling lighter and clearer and reported back that with the energy shift, they were back on track and things started to flow again.
Some clients that were not able to let go of the past, with feelings of guilt or shame, felt the release of this burden.
Clients that struggled with anxiety and depression felt the immediate benefit after a session and left feeling uplifted and peaceful.
- Felt an Increase of energy levels
- Felt more Aligned with oneself and to one’s soul purpose.
- Felt a release of past traumas
- There was a shift in energy bringing harmony to their relationships.
How has your understanding of metaphysics, meditation, and life alignment influenced your practice as a Reiki Master?
All these modalities and practices are essential tools to becoming a great practitioner and teacher. If you look at the main pillars of metaphysics as set out below, one can see how it ties into this work.
Self-awareness – one must “know thyself “before you can be of service to others. The practitioner needs to be clear as to what is their “stuff “and what belongs to the recipient.
Control of the mind – one must be able to control one’s thoughts so that you can tap into your inner guidance without the “chatter “of the mind getting in the way.
Energy perception – through understanding perception and energy, you can bring about spiritual healing.
Intuitive development – is important to develop these tools to receive and trust the spiritual information and guidance you are receiving.
Combining the above with a daily practice of meditation enhances the natural flow of energy for healing. It assists the practitioner in maintaining a calming energy which will be felt in the session.
An understanding of the physical body and the meridians or energy channels as in Life alignment brings a greater understanding of one’s system as a whole and assists the practitioner in discovering the true cause of energy imbalances and identifying the root cause of their problem.
Could you explain how long-distance Reiki sessions work and how the results are comparable to in-person sessions? What have been some of the remarkable outcomes of these distant healing sessions?
The phenomenon Quantum entanglement explains how two subatomic particles can be intimately linked to each other even if separated by billions of light years of space. Despite their vast separation, a change induced in one will affect another. Therefore, any reiki session whether in person or at a distance, is no different as far as the outcome.
The important aspects in channeling this energy and connection to the client for healing requires the following:
Attention – where we place our attention, energy flows.
Intention – broadcasting the thoughts and intentions for healing to occur.
Resonance – forming energetic connections with the client to build trust and as our energies interact, we as practitioners can raise the resonance of the recipient and in doing so, brings about healing.
The first time I did a distant session was for someone who was having a severe asthma attack and after a few minutes of connection, the breathing returned to normal.
Since then, I have facilitated healing on someone who was told she needed a back op. We had one session and she said she felt her back click into place and as a result the back op was no longer needed.
I have facilitated many distant sessions over the years all with very profound and incredible results.
Healing will occur be it on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, whether in person or at a distance.
We are all connected and are one.
