Traci Duncan is a psychic medium who has worked with Spirit Guides and Angels for over 30 years channeling messages of hope, healing, and growth.
When did you first realize you have a psychic gift and what inspired you to continue this path professionally?
I realized as a child that I had psychic gifts. I had imaginary playmates, that I now realize weren’t imaginary. I would get “feelings”. My dreams held premonitions. I would see deceased relatives. Psychic abilities run in my family, but, so far, I am the only medium. My family and close friends knew I was psychic, but I didn’t really tell people outside of my circle.
My children inspired me to continue this path professionally. As they grew up, they told their friends about me. Their friends were my first clients. I saw the relief, clarity, and comfort my guides provided them. My guides told me not to hide my light anymore. I began offering my services professionally.
What is the most challenging part of being a psychic medium?
The most challenging part of this work is getting out of my own way. Not being afraid to say things that sound ridiculous or make no sense to me. Many times, these things end up being excellent validations. Also, my Spirit team tends to tell the client what they need to hear and not necessarily what they want to hear. Someone they may not want to show up does. Sometimes who they want to hear from doesn’t, but that’s very rare.
Is there a certain area that you specialize in?
I specialize in working not just with guides and deceased loved ones, but Angels as well for the soul growth and healing of my clients.
What do you find are the more popular aspects that people seek guidance with?
People seek guidance in connecting with their departed loved ones, but their loved ones often encourage the client to heal their relationships with the living and their relationship with themselves.
Clients come to me most often seeking information about important relationships in their lives. This includes their relationship to the deceased and the living. My guides help point out the stumbling blocks in a person’s life. Things that may be keeping them stuck, why they are happening, the lessons they hold, and options for overcoming them.
Do you set an intention for your spiritual readings?
I always set an intention for the highest spiritual good for all parties involved and for their soul’s growth and healing. Before a session even begins, I pray for the client, their family living and departed, and their Guides. Regardless of what comes through, they’ve been prayed over well.
What can people do to raise their vibration to get the most out of spiritual guidance and healing?
The thing that people can do to raise their vibration to get the most out of spiritual guidance and healing is to simply remain open to it. Be open to accepting that what they see as a sign is a sign. Be open to talking to their guides and loved ones in spirit before a reading. Let them know that you want their help and are willing to accept and receive it. Be open to the information that does come regardless of whether it was something you were expecting to hear or not. Be open to accepting that free will is not to be interfered with. Validations may be offered and suggestions may be made, but they generally will not tell someone exactly what they should or should not do in their life. Be open to accepting that regardless of your choices or actions, you are still forgiven and loved.
In your experience in working with people, what would you say is the number one thing that holds most people back from living the fulfilling life they would like to live?
The number one thing that holds people back from living the fulfilling life they want to live is their beliefs. It’s hard to draw in or accept abundance or love if you don’t first believe that you are worthy of it or deserve it. If one believes that they can only learn the hard way, that is how they will learn. It doesn’t have to be that way. Changing your beliefs changes your reality.
I’ll add two more things. Not living in the present moment. People tend to spend a great deal of their time and energy ruminating on the past or stressing about the future. The power always lies in the present moment and how one responds to what is happening now. Finally, people tend to get hung up on the “why” instead of focusing on the “is”. Why someone treats you poorly is not nearly as important as the fact that he or she is treating you poorly. You may never know why. Even if you do understand, that won’t necessarily change their behavior. Acknowledging that bad behavior is happening gives one the power to decide to tolerate it or not. Focusing on the “why” gives your energy and power to people and things outside of you. Focusing on the “is” directs your power and energy back towards you.
Lastly, for our readers who may be struggling emotionally, looking for hope or are in search of closure do you have any advice to share?
For readers who are looking for closure, I would say they need to accept that there really isn’t any. Love doesn’t die when a person does. Grief doesn’t end because you accept the fact they are no longer here with you. Grief eases with time, but it never completely leaves just as the love never leaves. Sometimes it helps to think of them as having moved somewhere far away, a distant country, or off on a long cruise somewhere. They still exist, they just don’t exist in the same land that you do anymore. Keep talking to them. They can and do hear you. Often that’s when people will begin to get their own signs or will be visited in their dreams. Acknowledge these things when they happen. They need to know that they’re getting through to you. Energy cannot be destroyed only transformed. Their love for you does not die. Because they love you, they want you to be as happy as you possibly can. They not only know about the good things that happen in your life, but they are also very often in on the creation of it.
