Where does your love for astrology come from and how did you get introduced to the field?

My father was part of a religious sect, a Freemason, and a New Age fanatic, but for many reasons, these groups had changed him very negatively. Therefore, everything even distantly associated with these movements, including astrology, was a total “no-go” to me.

Things changed around my first Saturn return at age 29. I found an article about astrology in Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper while I was working as a Trade Analyst for the Italian Foreign Institute a few years after getting my business administration degree. This painting was a game-changer for me. Leonardo was skilled in many areas and highly valued astrology, and this painting is a manifest of astrology, so there must be more to astrology than I thought!

The next month, I signed up for my first astrology course. The only one offered was in psychological astrology and I did not know by that time that other astrology branches actually existed. That was before the internet.

The course was interesting, but, in retrospect, the astrology did not “click” with me, too vague, too random. I continued studying on my own for a few years and finally came to traditional horary astrology and started studying with Deborah Houlding, other teachers followed.

Now the ancient art of reading the sky really got me. It clicked with my Sun/ Saturn square, which needed the link with the astrological tradition and its long history. It clicked with my MC in Virgo, which could handle all those necessary rules to learn horary. From horary, I got back again to natal and into predictive astrology techniques. Horary helped me to understand these techniques on a deeper level.

What is Horary astrology and is it different from other forms of astrology?

Horary is the art of answering questions. Imagine a tiny little seed. In a way, we can say that it already contains the big oak that will one day come to be. The same happens with horaries. At the moment a client asks a question, the answer is born, too, but needs to be explained, which is my job.

Horary is not really different from other forms of traditional astrology, but, since we need a precise answer, it is more black and white. We need a malefic planet that describes a negative influence, and we need a benefic planet that brings the desired answer. However, traditional horary is far from giving just yes or no answers (as many believe!).

The question “Will I get this job?”, requires a precise description of the cards on the table. This detailed analysis of the “significators, is what makes the difference in comparison to natal astrology and where I use information that might not be so relevant in a birth chart consultation. Let’s say that in horary, I simply look at things from a different angle but the playground is the same.

The chart about the job would describe the boss, the querent and the job itself. It can tell if the querent will get the job (and usually when) but also if s/he will like it, have the necessary qualifications and if there is any concurrent. It will reveal if the client really WANTS that job, or if it is just an application that s/he feels obliged to follow up.

What can people expect from a Birth chart consultation?

We will usually meet on Zoom and the client will follow me by looking at the charts that I will share.

I first assess the temperament, the primary motivation, and the path in life. I will assess all the houses and significators and point to critical areas and where to get help from. I then look at the career and relationship patterns before I move to the predictive part, which includes the Solar revolution, annual profection, direction of the terms, and other techniques. If the querent has specific topics to work on, we will focus on these. A consultation is a team effort, not just me talking!

Can you tell me a bit about your work as a tutor?

I am a tutor of the QHP, Qualifying Horary Practitioner, the first established school for horary astrology, founded by Olivia Barkley in the 80ies. l correct the students’’ homework, help them through the syllabus and prepare additional material. I also have a hotline for urgent questions.

Besides that, I work as a private tutor, usually upon request of astrologers who need some kind of help in specific areas. For these students, I prepare material as needed and work in person or, more commonly, via Zoom. These are one-to-one sessions, but I am also available for small group teachings for up to 5 people.

You’re also an author. Are there any upcoming releases you’re currently working on?

I am currently in the final editing phase of my upcoming book on latitude, declination apogee, and the nodes. In this book I explore so far neglected aspects of traditional astrology, for example, the importance of latitude in aspects or its rule in physiognomy, in medicine but also for building or tearing down a house. I show the importance of the cycles linked to latitude.

Declination sets the margin in which planets work. These margins are determined by the equinoxes and solstices and give information about the nature of the signs, are they straight or oblique rising? What does this mean and what purpose does this information serve? What does declination have to do with weather patterns and how can I use declination in elections?

The apogee and the perigee of a planet indicate its distance from the Earth. These distances create an increasing and a decreasing phase and are also linked to the heliacal phases.

Finally the nodes- I hunt the figure of the dragon through history, and explain the phases of the Lunar standstill period which was already known by the time Stonehenge was built. I also explain why the nodes of the other planets are equally important. This book contains massive information and is soon to see the light!
