In the latest edition of MysticMag interviews, grief coach and Angel Advisor Tammy Gamester opens up about her journey from bookkeeping to guiding others through grief with the support of angels. With a deeply personal story of loss, Tammy shares how she found her true calling in helping parents heal and rediscover joy while integrating energy healing practices into her coaching work.
What were your professional beginnings like and how did you get into the work you’re doing now?
I began my professional life at 19, working as a record keeper, administrative assistant, and eventually a full-charge bookkeeper. I continued in these roles for many years, until three years ago, I retired to dedicate myself fully to my true passion: grief coaching and working with angels. My journey as a grief coach began with a deeply personal experience—the loss of my youngest son, Josh. That heartbreaking event sent me on a quest to heal my own grief, and through that process, I discovered my purpose. I studied numerous healing modalities and realized my calling was to help other parents who have lost a child. Today, as a grief coach, I support parents in navigating the complex emotions of grief, helping them find purpose in their loss and rediscover joy in their lives.
What does it mean to be an Angel Advisor, and can you walk me through one of your Angel Readings?
As an Angel Advisor, I work closely with the energy, guidance, and wisdom of the angels to offer support and insights to others. Angels are a constant presence in my life; they provide protection, healing, and inspiration, not only for me but also for the people I help. When conducting an Angel Reading, the client usually comes to me with a question—specific questions tend to yield more detailed responses. I rely on my intuition to select the right deck for the reading.
I shuffle the cards, lay them out, and pick the ones I’m drawn to, typically three or four. As I read the cards, I also tune into any messages I receive from the angels. I analyze the messages, images, colors, and symbols on the cards to provide a meaningful interpretation. Often, I’ll recommend certain angels for the client to connect with in their daily life—a practice Radleigh Valentine calls an “Angel Prescription.”
What energy healing services do you offer?
I hold multiple certifications, including Certified Angel Advisor, Reiki Master Teacher (RMT), Crystal Reiki Master, and Crystal Energy Guide, along with others that you can explore on my website. www.tammygamester.com. While I don’t offer formal healing sessions, I weave these energy healing practices into my grief coaching work. I educate my clients on how they can incorporate these modalities into their own healing journeys, and when necessary, I use Reiki, crystals, essential oils, and sound healing to support them. It’s a holistic approach, ensuring that my clients are nurtured on both physical and spiritual levels.
What courses do you offer, and how are they structured?
One of the key courses I offer is Angels & Astrology, which I co-created with my friend Kathy Marie Austin. It’s a 12-lesson program, and each lesson focuses on a specific zodiac sign and the angel associated with it. This course helps people understand the spiritual connections between the stars and angelic realms. You can find more details at www.angelsandastrology.com. In addition to this course, I provide a range of complementary classes on crystals, essential oils, and pendulums through my website, www.tammygamester.com. These courses are designed to enhance your spiritual practice and healing journey. My commitment to continuous learning fuels my passion for creating new educational experiences, and I’m excited to share that I am currently working on an advanced crystal course and a course on reading oracle cards, which will be available soon.5. What is your favorite part of your profession?
What is your favorite part of your profession?
I’m a naturally social person who thrives on connecting with others. As an empath and a mother who has experienced the loss of a child, I deeply understand the challenges my clients are facing. I find great fulfillment in teaching, listening to personal stories, and supporting individuals as they work towards healing.
In my role as a coach, I practice active listening and offer both support and healing when needed. I guide clients through their grief, helping them set goals to help them heal from their loss. Together, we explore resources and coping mechanisms, including journaling, meditation, and self-care practices, to navigate their journey through grief to find joy in their lives again. You can learn more about my story and coaching services on my website, www.tammygamester.com.
Is there anything else about your work that you’d like to share that we haven’t covered?
One of my top strengths is being a lifelong learner. My commitment to studying and personal growth is a central part of who I am, and I’m dedicated to this journey for the rest of my life. A significant milestone in this journey was earning my AA degree at the age of 55, which was a proud achievement for me.
While I once dreamed of becoming a teacher, life guided me in different directions. Yet, I’ve found a way to fulfill that dream by sharing my passions and knowledge with others. Through my YouTube channel, I offer content on angels and grief, providing support and insights to those in need. Additionally, I engage with my audience through social media groups and a blog on my website, creating a space for connection, learning, and support. These platforms allow me to continue my mission of teaching and helping others, enriching their lives with the knowledge and experience I’ve gained.
