Can you tell us about your background and what led you to become a holistic health coach and founder of StaceyWellness?
Absolutely! I was first led to the world of holistic health in my teens, by the grandmother of my high school sweetheart. She was an herbalist and was working with her husband to support controlling his blood sugar. This was very intriguing to me and had me digging into learning about and inviting plants into my life to assist with health. I still have a hand-typed sheet from her that explains various herbs and the body systems they support. Many years later in 2001, after suffering for years from debilitating depression and anxiety, I discovered that changes in my nutrition as well as the help of a few herbs and supplements turned things around 180 degrees for me!
How do you incorporate vibrational sound therapy and herbalism into your wellness practice, and how do these modalities support overall health and well-being?
I offer customized sound therapy sessions both in person (on-the-body) and online, as well as guided meditations with singing bowls. This helps train the brain to operate on lower frequency levels that create a state of relaxation. This in turn, helps us to be calmer when faced with life’s challenges.
I have a deep passion and relationship with plants and love to share ways to welcome herbs into daily living! The idea is to make it easy to understand and practice. I also have a wellness products brokerage to connect people with what may be helpful.
I feel that addressing the key issue of managing stress creates a strong foundation to create overall health, since managing stress is so crucial to all other body functions.
Can you tell us about the specific tools and techniques you use to help women in high-stress careers find balance and relaxation in their lives?
My coaching program is a multi-prong approach and combines nutrition |supplements and herbs| mindfulness| energy exercises| and sound therapy. It is primarily focused on helping to support the mind, body and spirit to manage stress, anxiety and mood imbalances for improved emotional and physical health.
How do you address the unique challenges that female leadership and sales career executives face in terms of balancing their work demands with their health and wellness needs?
This is the world I came from – I spent over 20 years in high tech sales and then running my own wellness brokerage, combined – all as a single mom! As such, I have a personal understanding of the high demands on this particular group of women. I realize the challenges of fitting it all in, so I simplify and break things down into more manageable chunks to fit into busy schedules.
Your approach to wellness emphasizes the importance of self-care and self-compassion. How do you help clients cultivate these qualities in their lives, and what benefits do they experience from doing so?
Many women struggle with self-care and self compassion because they’re unsure of what they need or what they want. There is also a social expectation to play the role to care for others, so realistic boundaries need to be set. My intention is to help clients identify their physical, emotional/ spiritual needs and wants. Then we work together to customize a program that meets them where they are and to fit their individual lifestyles. It is an interactive process!
