Today, MysticMag has the pleasure to bring to you an exclusive interview with Sarina Baptista, an award-winning author, speaker, psychic medium, and spiritual teacher. She was kind enough to share details about how a tragic event led her down the spiritual path, what she bases her teachings on, as well as her latest and upcoming books. Learn more down below.
Can you please introduce yourself to our readers and share a few details about your professional journey?
Hello, my name is Sarina Baptista. I am an award-winning author, international speaker, evidential psychic medium, and spiritual teacher. My journey began in March 2007 when my seven-year-old son, J.T., caught the flu and died five days later. This, of course, put me on a very different path, where I began a search to uncover where my son went and to find him again. J.T. was also leading me, guiding me to the just and right people who could help me on my quest. In September 2007, just six months after his passing, I found I was a medium, a bridge between this world and the next. Through training, I did find my son again, as well as my purpose and passion to help others find peace and closure.
As a Spiritual Teacher, what do you base your teachings on?
My teachings are based on my own spiritual process for connecting with my son and others across the veil. I teach about energy and frequency, and how to reach those high frequencies so connecting with our teachers and loved ones on the other side is simple and clear. As I was learning how to connect, I couldn’t believe how simple it was to do. I never say it was “easy,” as it took a lot of training and determination. I used to be a software engineer, so my brain definitely works on the logical side of things. I worked at opening my intuitive side, and with patience, found the formula to connect. I now use this formula with all of my students.
Can you briefly describe the everyday life of an Evidential Psychic Medium? What is unique about it?
My days mainly consist of client sessions and classes. I teach a wide variety of classes now and hold free monthly meditations to help others connect. I am blessed to be able to assist in healing wounds from loved ones leaving, bringing closure and understanding to my clients. I have strict boundaries with the other side, though. Loved ones can only connect with me if I am talking directly with their loved one here.
I found this necessary so I would not get awakened in the middle of the night to take messages, or random spirits just wanting to talk with me at all hours. What might be unique is my immediate connection with my son and others’ guides and loved ones. It was a very natural transition for me, and my abilities came in strong and fast. It has been almost sixteen years since my first connection with a loved one who had passed. At the end of the day, though, I have to scrub my toilets just like everyone else. In fact, doing this keeps me grounded!
You offer three different kinds of Akashic Records sessions. What is the difference between them?
The “Ask and Receive” sessions are quite popular. In these sessions, I connect with my client’s Akashic Record Keeper. This is one of the energies that assisted us in picking this particular incarnation, so they know our path, our purpose, the lessons and experiences our souls wanted to have, and what was important for us to learn this time around. The client prepares questions for their Record Keeper, such as, “What is holding me from abundance in my life?” or “What do I need to do to get on path and in purpose?” Then during the session, we ask those questions to get clarity on the client’s life and choices.
The next session I offer is the “Your Life Rescripted” session. This takes a recurring issue in the client’s life, such as, “Why do I always choose the wrong partners?” We ask the Akashic Record Keepers to show us when this issue began, whether it was in this lifetime, or many lives ago. Once we know how the issue began, we can change the ending in that story to reflect a new alternate reality. From there, we rewrite the script in our current life so this trauma and response to the trauma do not get repeated. We use mantras and affirmations to change our current belief system, which in turn, changes our present and future responses. It is quite effective!
I also now offer an Accessing Your Akashic Records Online Course, where the client can access the records on their own without having to have me do it for them. This is especially useful if the client wants to make big changes!
What can people expect from your Reiki classes?
All of my Reiki classes are currently via Zoom, and range from traditional Usui Reiki to a new form of Reiki healing called Crystalline Reiki, and also Animal Reiki. During class, we walk through the class materials together and then practice what we have learned. When I first was learning Reiki, my teacher did not show me how to use the energy, so I had to learn about its healing power and expansiveness on my own. It is because of this that I make sure my students understand the energy and know how to best fit it into their lives.
You are also a successful author. What can you tell us about that part of your work?
My latest book, My View from Heaven: A Boy’s Story of His Journey to Heaven and the Purpose of Life on Earth has won three awards. This book was written by my son, J.T., on the other side as channeled through me. The concepts he talks about in the book are beyond anything I learned in school or in life. It really helps to put life into perspective. More than this, it helps us understand why things happen the way they do. What I love about this book is the very simple ways in which J.T. explains everything. In September 2023, I have another book coming out that I am writing with three other authors, all women who have experienced losses. We write about how these losses helped us to find our purpose and the understanding that love never dies. This book is called Finding Love and Purpose: Our Journey to Healing through Connection.
