What are the most commonly used crystals in crystal healing, and can you explain their specific healing properties and how they are applied in practice?
- Clear Quartz, the Master Healer can be used to rebalance chakras, instead of other crystals and can easily tune into clients’ vibrations. Clear Quartz can be applied to any unbalanced chakras or energy points to stimulate them, to restore and release excessive energy.
- Amethyst calms emotions and the mind and helps with meditation and insights. Amethyst is applied where insights, relaxation, and calm are needed e.g. a chakra that doesn’t work as it should. It can be used as a focus to deepen meditation. It can also be used on the third eye of a client when asked to focus on a particular issue.
- Black Tourmaline is used for grounding, to release and protect from negativity. Black Tourmaline is usually placed in the lower chakras for grounding but it can also be carried around if energy protection is needed.
How do you assess an individual’s energy or chakras to determine which crystals might be most beneficial for their healing process, and can you share an example of a personalized crystal healing session?
Dowsing comes into its own when assessing energy points. I use a pendulum or finger dowsing to help me assess the energy points and select the appropriate crystals.
A client who had problems sleeping and overthinking asked for a session. There was an initial conversation to discover more about her and her background. This helped me to go deeper into the issues she wanted help with. Those issues were chiefly: an inability to center and ground, stagnating energy in the upper chakras that prevented her from sleeping, and a need for aura cleansing.
I asked the client to relax while I sought insights for the session from my guides and tuned in to the energy of the client.
I started by grounding the client with meditation. Afterward, I checked with my pendulum which chakras and energy points were unbalanced. Usually, crystals are chosen according to the colors associated with the chakras but in my personalized crystal healing, I use my pendulum as a guide or my unfocused sight to see if a particular crystal ‘calls’ to be used at that particular point. This is because for me a crystal chosen intuitively is both more effective and balances better.
Once the crystals are chosen, I always verify with the pendulum or finger dowse to check the correctness of the answer a second time.
Usually, a simple crystal does the job but I sensed that I had to correct its energy with four quartz points to release the excessive energy accumulated in the chakra.
The throat chakra imbalance was corrected with a cube of Fluorite.
To help grounding I was guided to use three pieces of Black Tourmaline between the feet, fanning outwards.
Using the pendulum I noticed that the sacral chakra needed re-balancing and Black Moonstone – usually used for intuitive work and higher chakras – was the crystal that ‘called’ to be used.
I finished the setup with Boulder Opal at the solar plexus, Chrysoprase at the heart chakra, and Blue Lace Agate at the third eye.
When the setup was complete, I dowsed to check if the crystals were fine where they were. At this point, I had the client call in the White Light to cleanse her body from the inside out. This method was suggested to me by my angelic guide, something that is not usually done in other crystal healing sessions. I asked the client if she felt the energy stuck somewhere within her body. She said that she needed help with an issue affecting her foot. Intuitively, the pendulum led me to use Tiger Eye. Once that was done I checked all the crystals with my pendulum and I felt that the Moonstone at the sacral chakra had to be changed for a Garnet.
As I wanted the client to release old emotions, memories, and unwanted feelings, I used another personal technique suggested by my guide to ‘dump’ all the negative experiences.
After that, I asked the client to visualize the White Light again to check that all was clear.
I left the crystals for a while before removing them one by one, in what felt to be an appropriate order.
Once the crystals were removed I closed the client’s aura and invited her to come gently back to the room.
How does a pendulum reading session work, and what types of questions or situations are best suited for this divination method?
I ask my clients to come with prepared questions. Before the reading starts, I invite them to choose which crystal pendulum they prefer. The pendulum gives only yes or no answers but I use my special charts to check other possible responses such as time, energy, benefit, etc.
Can you describe the different types of pendulums used in readings, and how do you ensure the accuracy and reliability of the information obtained through pendulum readings?
There are different kinds of pendulums from crystal to metal, from wood to stone and glass. I prefer using crystal pendulums.
I always tell my clients that the answers are valid for the moment and situation they are in. If things change in their lives, the answers might not apply anymore. This is true for any reading done with Tarot, Palmistry, etc.
What are the origins and historical significance of associating specific gemstones with birth months, and are there any interesting cultural variations in these associations?
This is not really my field of study but I am aware of the classic correspondences.
I believe the associations date back to ancient times when Astrology and the influence of planets and stars was a more significant factor in people’s lives, reaching even into realms of Philosophy and Medicine. Back then, they associated the Zodiac with planets and people’s characteristics. In turn, crystals were believed to be ruled by certain planets which in turn have their own characteristics and qualities. Several populations have their own ways of associating crystals and planets, especially Chinese and Indian.
How can individuals best incorporate their birthstone into their everyday lives, and what symbolism or meanings are commonly associated with each birthstone?
This is a very large subject and I go some way to address it on my webpage.
This was done with significant reference to George Frederick Kunz’s ‘The curious lore of precious stones’.
That said, crystals of certain characteristics enhance the characteristics of their related star sign.
