In this MysticMag interview with renowned astrologer Pauline Gerosa, we delve into her fascinating journey into astrology and the unique services she offers. Pauline shares how her birth chart and the Arabian desert night skies guided her path, and how her passion for astrology blossomed into a lifelong pursuit of wisdom and insight.
How did you get into Astrology and what sparked your interest in it?
My birth chart suggests that astrology is both my home and my native language, thanks to the placement of planet Uranus in Cancer close to the cusp of the 3rd & 4th houses of my horoscope. I think growing up in the Arabian desert under amazing night skies crammed with stars may also have had something to do with it!
In the mid-1970s, I met an experienced astrologer while I was living in Spain. She inspired me to turn to astrology when, around 12 years later, I was going through a really tough time. I then decided to study the subject in depth in order to empower myself to cope with the challenges I was facing.
I discovered the Faculty of Astrological Studies and attended their London classes for about six years until I gained my Diploma in 1992. Although it felt like remembering something I already knew, I still had a lot to learn. I had to open my mind to concepts which seemed impossible to understand. But over time I gained fluency and comprehension and now every chart I work with expands my existing knowledge of this fabulous and fascinating subject!
What specific Astrology services do you offer?
I offer one-to-one readings mainly via Zoom or over the phone and occasionally in person at my London UK base. I also coach astrology students either individually or in small groups. I have given talks, presentations and public readings, and I have contributed to a variety of articles, workshops and training events.
What is your most popular Astrology service/reading and what makes it special?
I was born with Sun in Scorpio in the 7th house of personal & professional counselling. Talking to people about their birth charts is a strong source of fulfilment for me, perhaps because I find the process of self-revelation and self-transformation so rewarding. My natural interest in other people’s potential, their life paths and relationships could be why my one-to-one consultations and forecasts are the most sought-after of my services.
What are Astro Oracle decks and how are they used?
The Astro Oracle deck is a labour of love which has been part of my life in one form or another over the past 12-year Jupiter cycle. With help from my very artistic daughter, I have created an oracle deck which includes cards for the zodiac signs, horoscope houses, astrological elements & qualities, planets and planetary patterns.
I am very happy to say that the deck, together with a 40-page introductory booklet, is now being published by specialist printers Ivory. It is also available as a free online shuffle and choose your card option on my website astrology-oracle.com/astro-oracle-deck-and-readings.
My main motivation for creating the deck was to generate a form of reading which could provide helpful insights and information without setting up birth charts and horoscopes. This type of reading is great for events and demonstrations. It is also more accessible and affordable than an in-depth astrological consultation.
The deck can be used for training purposes as the cards give information and interpretations for the basic principles of astrology. Students tend to struggle with the astrological concept of “layering”. The Astro Oracle deck offers a hands-on experience which can help to clarify the process of how to read planetary energies according to their placements in signs, elements & qualities, houses and aspects.
I have also produced an Astro Oracle calendar and diary/journal which are currently available as PDF downloads for 2025. I am planning to produce them as online publications and would welcome any guidance and advice on how to accomplish this goal!
Can you walk me through an Astro Oracle reading?
- The client contacts me by email requesting a reading. They may have a specific question in mind, or they might be looking for guidance on their current situation, or they could be asking for help to make an important decision.
- We agree on a suitable online or phone appointment. I ask them to choose some cards from my website shuffle option and to let me know which cards come up for them.
- I create a physical layout of 6-8 cards from my own deck, adding clarifying cards if needed. The readings last for 40-60 minutes.
- The client receives an audio recording of our session, plus images of the cards in their reading.
- Payment is made (I prefer by bank transfer) after the reading takes place when I provide my UK account details.
