Mark, how does One Life | Live It differentiate its coaching approach from traditional life coaching, and how does it incorporate a holistic perspective into its programs?

I would say that what sets me apart is my background in real-life experiences. One Life/Live It was born from my personal journey, which I’ve shared quite openly on the website. It all stemmed from a period in my life where I was very close to not wanting to be here due to overwhelming life challenges. Through that experience and the coaching I received, the idea grew. Others started asking me about my journey and if I could help them, which eventually led to the small but growing business it is today. While I don’t have a clinical background, I am very science-driven.
The modalities we use in coaching are all backed by research—published, peer-reviewed studies supporting breathwork, cold exposure, and other practices. We draw inspiration from respected figures like Tony Robbins, Joe Dispenza, and Tom Bilyeu, who are renowned in the global community for their work. Our approach is direct yet compassionate, aiming to shift people’s behavior for the better. The results we’ve seen speak for themselves, and we often encourage interested individuals to speak with others who have worked with us to gauge the potential benefits for themselves.

Can you explain how the combination of modalities, tools, and techniques used by One Life | Live It work together to create long-lasting positive changes in individuals’ lives?

In coaching, our focus is heavily on changing mindset, both at the conscious and subconscious levels. By shifting people’s mindset, we aim to facilitate sustainable changes in their lives. We delve into the neurochemistry behind changing mindset, habits, and behavioral patterns. While we touch on aspects of childhood to understand how individuals reached their current state, our primary focus is on moving forward. We provide a pathway for individuals to make substantial, long-lasting changes by challenging their beliefs and values.
Modalities like breathwork and cold exposure work at a physiological and neurochemical level, inducing changes in the body that can help individuals step out of their comfort zones. These modalities have significant impacts on systems like the cardiovascular system and neurochemical systems, raising levels of dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin, which can improve mood and overall well-being. Our goal is to help individuals find purpose, direction, and a reason to get out of bed every day, moving beyond feeling stuck and stagnant in life to a more compelling future.

How do you support clients during the processing time after a session, especially when they may experience intense emotions or blockages being released?

When working with us, we create a safe space for individuals to explore deep breathing techniques like transformational breathing, which can lead to emotional releases. Our sessions typically last at least an hour and a half, but can extend longer for processing. In one-on-one sessions, we challenge individuals to step outside their comfort zones and question their existing beliefs, which can be confronting. After sessions, we emphasize our availability, providing our contact information for support.
Unlike traditional psychologists or counselors, we can foster ongoing relationships with our clients, offering support and sharing our own experiences to help them navigate their challenges. This approach allows us to offer personalized solutions and be there for our clients while they are going through the uncertainty of change. We hold the reigns until their ready to take hold of them themselves.

How does One Life | Live It navigate the balance between providing support for clients’ past traumas and focusing on their present and future goals, particularly in the context of the coaching versus counseling distinction?

It’s no secret that much of our current struggles stem from our childhood experiences. While some people may not have experienced trauma in the traditional sense, they may feel stuck and lost, finding it challenging to navigate life. For others who have faced significant trauma such as child abuse or self-harm from an early age, we try to steer them toward more qualified professionals who can provide specialized help.
However, for those seeking to understand and address the root of their trauma, we delve deep into their past to help them acknowledge and accept what has happened. We take the time needed for individuals to feel comfortable accepting their past before moving forward. It’s common for people to want to avoid confronting their past, but we believe that acknowledging and understanding it is crucial for healing.
Through techniques like breathwork, we help individuals release trapped emotions, leading to relief and opening up space for further conversations. We explain the science behind these processes, helping them understand what’s happening in their bodies and minds. Our approach is deeply personal, and we only work with individuals with whom we feel a genuine connection. We aim to provide a level of understanding and explanation that resonates with them, so they can trust in the process of healing and growth. If our approach resonates with someone, we are here to help; if not, we encourage them to seek out other paths that may better suit their needs.

Can you elaborate on the concept of Flow State and its application in daily life, relationships, and work, and how you help clients integrate this concept for personal growth and fulfillment?

Flow is a concept that many people are familiar with, especially as it has gained more ‘mainstream’ exposure in recent years. There is now more scientific understanding and interest in Flow, leading to the development of Flow coaching courses and research. I became interested in Flow through sport and embarked on a Flow coaching course, where I discovered its significant impact on mental health, happiness, goal setting, and productivity. Flow is about finding activities that challenge you the right amount, pushing you out of your comfort zone and into a state where you are fully immersed and focused on the task at hand. I work with people to help them integrate flow into their daily lives, whether it’s in cooking, cleaning, sport, work, or relationships. By helping individuals reach this state, they can experience life with more positivity, efficiency and joy.
