With over 25 years of experience as an IT consultant, Maree transformed her life through a powerful holistic technique that reignited her passion for living. Now, as a practitioner, she shares this transformative practice with others, guiding them to release years of emotional and physical discomfort, and find renewed purpose and resilience. Maree’s journey from despair to rejuvenation embodies the strength and hope she offers to her clients.

Maree, can you share the pivotal moment that led you to recognize and overcome your own burnout, and how it inspired your journey to help other women?

My pivotal moment occurred over a decade ago: As a former independent IT consultant and a working woman transitioning into mid-life, I found myself struggling with intense physical discomfort and paralyzing burnout. My years of prioritizing doing and achieving results for others while neglecting my own needs led to moodiness and agitation toward myself and those around me. I would wake up feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, discouraged, and wanting to hide under the covers and avoid everything and everyone. I was completely out of balance, and in the end, the toll on my inner state affected my health, leading me to be hospitalized for back surgery and subsequent blood clots.
The cumulative stress left me in despair and sorrow, bringing me to my knees physically, mentally, and emotionally, and to the point of wanting to give up.
I didn’t give up and I began searching for ways to help myself. After six months of searching and trying out supportive tools, I stumbled upon the transformative power of a holistic technique. This technique helped me to overcome spiritual challenges and physical and emotional discomfort while reigniting my passion for living. I learned to pause, breathe consciously, reflect, and look within, granting myself permission for self-care, rest, and rejuvenation. I prioritized my personal well-being over the opinions of others. After a year of personal practice, I emerged feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, stronger, and more connected to my authentic self, and ready to embrace life with renewed enthusiasm
I was so enthusiastic about this technique that I became a practitioner of it. Other women came to me to learn accessible self-care techniques to help them recharge, relax, and embrace life anew.
So that is why I support working women in midlife to break free from the clutches of burnout and reclaim their joy, focus, and zest for life!

What holistic techniques do you find most effective in helping women in mid-life reclaim their joy and vitality, and how do you incorporate these into your programs?

I personalize transformative experiences that empower my clients to recharge, relax, and take control of their own wellness. I introduce them to some of my favorite self-soothing, mindfulness, and energetic techniques as I intuitively weave them into my programs. Among my favorites are conscious breathing, EFT (tapping), visualizations, affirmations, gratitude practices, movement, creative expression, and connecting to nature.
My intention is to inspire these women to take small, daily steps to create habits of self-care which are critical for sustainable productivity and success in the workplace.

How does conscious breathing play a role in your approach to wellness, and what benefits have you observed in your clients who practice it regularly?

Conscious Breathing is the foundation of all my programs, it is the bridge between mind, body, and spirit that is always available to us and supports our overall wellness. It can help release discomfort caused by cumulative stress, tension, and negative emotions, while raising energetic vibration or life force.
My clients notice a variety of positive benefits, including:
• Better sleep and enhanced relaxation
• More ease at moving through uncertainty.
• Increased self-awareness and the ability to integrate negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
• Improved ability to release stress and feelings of anxiety.
• Increased clarity and focus
• Enhanced creativity and intuition that support problem solving and innovation.
• Enhanced ability to change their state in a positive manner.
In summary, they experience more peace, harmony, and balance in life, which leads to greater joy and gratitude!

What challenges do your clients commonly face when beginning their journey to overcome burnout, and how do you support them through these obstacles?

The main challenges my clients commonly express include chronic feelings of fatigue, stress, tension, worry, lack of focus, brain fog, frustration, and negativity around work and overall well being.
These women are often feeling discouraged, overworked, overextended, overwhelmed, exhausted, and feeling less effective at work and at home. They tend to neglect their own needs while feeling pressure from both external and internal sources.
I help them rejuvenate, regain focus, and live a more fulfilled and purposeful life by sharing simple and accessible self-care tools that calm the body, mind, and spirit. I support them in ‘filling their cup’ first, enabling them to connect with their own sources of power and well-being.

Can you describe a success story from one of your clients who has experienced a significant transformation through your ‘Revive and Shine’ program?

One of my private ‘Revive and Shine’ clients experienced a significant transformation by releasing unconscious emotions and energy that was blocking her awareness of repeated patterns that were keeping her stuck. In our sessions, she felt safe and free to express herself fully and share her reflections without feeling judged. This self-awareness was a catalyst for her to move forward with deeper self-love and kindness, increased self-compassion, and authentic self-acceptance.
I have recently reconfigured my ‘Revive and Shine’ program as a 6-month small online group experience of self-discovery and personal growth!
