Madeleine Woodward of Rewire Energy Healing is a Reiki Master Practitioner, Biofield Balancing Practitioner, and Consciousness Coach, whose journey into energy healing began as a personal quest for inner peace and fulfillment. Struggling with the fast-paced lifestyle of the modern world, she found herself chasing desires and avoiding pain until she reached a breaking point. In 2014, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery that led her to London, where she experienced a spiritual awakening through Reiki. Since then, Madeleine has dedicated herself to sharing the transformative power of Reiki and other healing modalities with others, guiding them on their path to self-rediscovery, healing, and awakening. Her commitment to helping others find freedom from unnecessary suffering and realignment with their true essence is a testament to her own journey of healing and growth. MysticMag has the pleasure.
Madeleine, you emphasize the importance of energetic shifts for personal growth and transformation. Can you share more about how these shifts, particularly through Reiki and other energy healing modalities, play a crucial role in breaking old patterns and fostering lasting change in individuals’ lives?
That’s an excellent question, and I believe the term “energetic shift” can hold different meanings for different individuals. In addressing this question, I’d like to frame it as a raising of consciousness because that’s essentially what occurs during sessions. People often come in with certain patterns or habits they wish to break, or they may be grappling with grief or other challenges. They operate from their current level of consciousness, which may not always allow for free-flowing energy.
Despite the constant shifting of energy, sometimes we find ourselves feeling stuck or unwell. In my view, energetic shift, or raising consciousness, involves connecting to a higher level of awareness. Through energy balancing practices like Reiki, individuals can tap into this elevated state of consciousness, whether it’s the universal consciousness around them or the higher self within. This shift enables them to flow more freely, regain balance, and experience those “a-ha” moments. It’s about operating from a place of solution rather than feeling trapped. So, when I speak of an energetic shift, I’m referring to receiving energy that elevates your consciousness, offering a new perspective on life.
Your personal journey with Reiki is quite compelling. How did Reiki find you, and what specific moments or realizations during your own healing process led you to become a Reiki Master Practitioner?
So there’s this saying in the Reiki community that Reiki finds you, and that’s exactly what happened in my case. Being involved in various Reiki associations and circles, I’ve heard similar stories from others, and it seems like Reiki has this way of finding its way to you when you need it most.
For me, it all started during a period of intense burnout. I was completely immersed in my work, pushing myself to the limit with the mentality of “I’ll sleep when I die.” Working in the music industry, which can be quite taxing if you’re not grounded, only added to the stress. Eventually, I hit rock bottom. I was battling pneumonia, coughing up blood, unable to sing or work, and trapped in a bubble of misery.
During this dark time, I had a profound experience. It’s hard to say whether it was a moment of clarity or something else entirely, but I found myself surrounded by a golden dome of light, and suddenly, all my pain vanished. It was as if a voice reassured me, saying, “You’re going to be okay. You just need to call this number.” This voice gave me a name ‘Susie’ – someone I had never met before. Although, I had added her on Facebook a year ago after a chance conversation about energy balancing with a starnger at a party, even though I had no real interest in the world of energy medicine at the time.
Feeling compelled by this experience, I reached out to Susie the next day and discovered she was a Reiki master. I booked a healing session with her, despite the distance – she lived in Somerset, while I was in London, a four-hour bus journey away. The experience was nothing short of life-changing. It was like waking up from a decade-long slumber. I felt alive and reconnected with my spirit in a way I hadn’t in years. Even on the way back to the bus station, I noticed the world around me with newfound clarity – the trees, the smells – everything felt vibrant and alive.
From that moment on, I was hooked. I dove headfirst into learning everything I could about Reiki and the world of energy medicine. Over the next four years, Susie became my teacher, and it was a transformative journey of growth and discovery. It was like something out of “The Karate Kid” – ‘wax on, wax off’ kind of training – as I stayed at her house and helped with chores in exchange for her teachings. And now, years later, I’ve opened my own practice, sharing the gift of Reiki with others. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for every moment of it.
Many may find it intriguing that remote or distant healing has the same effects as physical hands-on healing. Could you explain more about the concept of distant healing, the quantum connection involved, and how you have adapted your practice to offer effective remote sessions, especially during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic?
First of all, I think it’s important to acknowledge that COVID played a role in this shift for me. Thanks to COVID, my business moved online, prompting me to take a leap into something new. While I had been trained in distant healing, it was not an area I was focussed on with Rewire Energy Healing. However, when clients expressed a desire to continue their sessions remotely, I decided to give it a shot. After a few sessions, these clients actually told me that they preferred distant healing. They felt that the energy and healing they received was just as potent as in-person sessions, but with the added convenience of not having to commute afterward. Being able to remain in their own environment post-healing was comforting and nourishing for them.
Now, when it comes to explaining distant healing, I tailor my approach depending on the person I’m speaking to. For someone with a skeptical or scientifically minded background, I might delve into the concept of quantum entanglement. This phenomenon, explored in quantum physics, suggests that particles can be interconnected across vast distances, influencing each other instantaneously.
Even Einstein famously struggled to grasp this concept, referring to it as “spooky action at a distance.” However, modern science, including fields like biofield science, epigenetics and quantum biology, has provided insights into the influence of energy fields on our health.
In distant healing sessions, both the client and I enter into a state of intention and connection. We both understand and agree that healing is taking place. So when it comes time to disconnect the call and continue with the healing, we are both aligned in our intention for positive change. From a scientific standpoint, this alignment of intention in an elevated emotional state can induce changes on a molecular level. Therefore, I believe that distant healing can be just as effective as in-person sessions when both parties are committed and open to the process.
In your sessions, you integrate various healing modalities, including reflexology, breathwork, crystal healing, color therapy, sound healing, and more. How do you determine which modalities to combine for each individual, and what role does each play in creating a holistic approach to energy healing?
I am very led in my work, always guided by the clients themselves. If someone expresses interest in a particular modality like chromotherapy or reflexology, I honor that and intuitively incorporate other elements as the session progresses. It’s crucial for clients to feel comfortable and regulated during the session, as this openness allows for better receptivity to healing.
For example, during my time at a secondary rehab facility in Thailand, where I worked with individuals dealing with serious trauma, I had to be mindful of each person’s boundaries and trust levels. If someone is uncomfortable with physical touch, I wouldn’t start with techniques like Reiki immediately. Instead, I might begin with reflexology on the feet, activating acupressure points and different bodily systems to facilitate healing or encourage movement.
Alternatively, I might work with the biofield, which extends about 8 feet around the body, using tuning forks or my hands to balance the energy field and promote a release of tension. Ultimately, my approach is dictated by what the client brings to the table, and I always remind them that energy work meets them where they are. Even if they come in with a specific intention, I encourage them to remain open to other possibilities, as there are numerous pathways to healing.
After a healing session, clients often seek ways to maintain the positive effects and energetic alignment. What advice or personalized tools do you typically provide to individuals to help them sustain and build upon the healing energy they’ve experienced during sessions?
It depends on the person and the challenges they’re facing, whether it’s physical illness, mental health issues, grief, or life transitions. However, some foundational tools I often offer include morning and bedtime routines for self-care. These are simple yet practical techniques that can be done upon waking and before sleep, tapping into the subconscious mind during the theta brainwave state.
For example, in the morning, I might suggest starting the day by acknowledging one’s presence in the physical body, affirming their spirit and energy, and setting intentions for the day ahead. Similarly, in the evening, I might recommend a practice to wind down before sleep, such as avoiding screens and engaging in relaxation techniques to prepare the mind for rest.
Another essential tool I incorporate is breathwork, specifically biofield breathing or whole person breathing. This technique involves breathing in through the energy field surrounding the body, then through the physical body, and exhaling back out into the biofield and beyond. It serves as a reminder that we are not just physical beings but also energetic beings, helping individuals connect with their spiritual essence.
Regular self-inventory exercises are also beneficial. I encourage clients to pause and observe their thoughts and emotions throughout the day, noting any patterns or triggers that arise. By keeping track of these experiences, individuals can gain insight into their mental and emotional states and identify areas for growth or healing.
Additionally, if specific meridian points or acupressure points are relevant to the person’s concerns, I may recommend self-care practices targeting those areas. This could involve simple techniques like closing the eyes and gently applying pressure to the point to help release energetic blockages within the body.
Overall, the tools and practices I offer during sessions are tailored to the individual’s needs and circumstances, ensuring that they receive personalised support and guidance on their healing journey.
