As someone who wears multiple professional hats, how do you find balance and prioritize your various roles as a medium, teacher, spiritual counselor, and author?
I have a flow to my work that is predictable. I put aside time for each role. For example on Fridays I work as a spiritual counselor. This means that each role gets my time and effort.
My main role is being a medium. I tour and do live events. I do readings three days a week. I take this role as a sacred contract between myself and the other side to reach as many people as I can with the time I have left on this earth. I do a weekly Facebook event called Message Monday and read people which is free for anyone to join. I try to make my work like a breathe. Breathing out energy, giving hope and connection. Breathing in gratitude, receiving love and energy from those I serve.
I play a big part in my community donating readings to organizations and fundraisers as well as volunteering my time with terminal cancer patients. I have been volunteering for over 10 years on a weekly basis. Being with someone who is transitioning out of this world is a sacred experience and it has filled my heart to be able to assist. It’s all about giving and receiving and balance.
I take teaching others very seriously. I want them to experience the power of spirit that it does exist. The Spirit wants you to believe. My role as a teacher is rewarding. I watch others discover within themselves their intuition and come to trust it. People’s lives are so much richer when they are connected to source energy.
Could you share a defining moment or experience that led you to pursue a career as a spiritual counselor and medium?
I have always had this gift of mediumship growing up and my grandmother would tell me that this was an ability that we have. I was never scared of it. In my 20’s I became a social worker and found my job rewarding and satisfying. I did this work for 14 years. I was driving one day and my grandmother who had since passed appeared to me in my car. She insisted that I start to help people by connecting them to spirit. I was going through lots of life changes with my relationship and parenting and didn’t feel like it was possible. She told me to take her picture if I didn’t believe her. I took my phone and began taking pictures of the passenger seat. I got home that night and looked at those pictures. In one of them there was a bright light that was shining down from the roof of the car directly down in the middle of the passenger seat. I knew then that I had to share what I had to offer. I started part time and began reading one day a month. It began to get busy and within six months I had enough people waiting that I could work full time for a year. Soon after I left my job in social work and have been doing mediumship full time.
What type of services do you offer?
I offer primarily mediumship readings. I focus on my gift and using it as much as possible. I do mentoring in other mediums and teach classes regularly to people looking to explore their gifts.
As an author, what topics or themes do you explore in your writing, and how do they connect to your work as a medium and spiritual counselor?
Writing is a newer ability for me. I explore my experiences as a medium and how amazing spirit works in people’s lives. People love to hear proof of the afterlife. I have so many stories that happen on a daily basis. It’s fun to share how powerful spirit is. Currently, I am working on a book. I hope to have it published and be able to share everything that I’ve experienced.
Can you describe a particularly impactful or transformational experience you had while guiding someone through a spiritual awakening or personal transformation?
I think one of the most profound moments happened in my volunteering work. I do healing touch or sometimes reiki. I had been working with this mother who had two small children. She had breast cancer and uterine cancer. Things were not looking positive for her health and the outcome did not look good. I started my session and instantly felt an angel in the room. This is rare in my experience. Most often it is guides and loved ones. The angel came into my hands. I could barely hold the energy. Then the angel told me all would be healed and that she would be okay. I knew at that moment her healing was assured and that she didn’t need to worry anymore. She is still alive today. It’s been about 10 years. Spirit truly is amazing.
What advice would you give to individuals who are seeking to develop their own spiritual practice or connect with their intuition but may not know where to start?
First of all I would let them know that we all have gifts of intuition and knowing. That we are able to tap into that information by settling our mind and tuning into the information around us. I like to use the example of a radio. We need to tune into the station to start to receive the beautiful music of spirit. Very often people doubt their own ability so it’s really allowing them to believe in themselves and the incredible information they are receiving. There are plenty of courses and free workshops online that can help assist them to get started on their journey.
