Can you tell us about the philosophy behind Simply Sound Vibrations and how it influences the services you offer?
Simply Sound Vibrations philosophy is that everything is energy and frequency. We are all energy and we all have a frequency that governs it. The various systems in our body ie: Muscular, Skeletal, Nervous, Lymphatic, Digestive, Respiratory, Urinary Tract, Reproductive (Male & Female), Endocrine, and Vascular. All of these systems have specific cells that resonate at a specific frequency. We also have systems that other alternative therapies such as Acupuncture and Ayurveda recognize. These systems known as the Chakra System and The Meridian System, although not seen, also help in channeling and reflecting the energy stored in the cells.
The offerings at Simply Sound Vibrations helps the client first see how their energy flows. Once that is determined, we can use frequencies ie: sound and vibrations to introduce a resonant frequency or vibration into the cellular structure so those cells that are vibrating at a dissonant frequency are re-programmed. By doing this, we gently release stagnant energy (most times this is an emotion long forgotten) locked in the body and bring it to the forefront of consciousness so it may be acknowledged and released.
What Inspired you to start working with sound healing and how have you seen it benefit your clients?
I started out making and using herbal remedies. At one time, I aspired to be an herbalist which is another way of using frequency through the plants. I was inspired to learn sound healing when I realized that I have used sound all my life to help me cope with various events in my personal life.
I have seen my clients who have had trauma and grief slowly heal due to coming monthly for their sound therapy treatments. Sound therapy is a lifestyle change. Just like wanting to eat healthier, or exercise more. Clients that seek out sound therapy want to be healthier emotionally and mentally.
How do you create a personalized sound healing experience for each of your clients? After having a sound massage session, the client takes an after-session energy reading so they can see their “before” and “after” energy changes. Those clients that opt to commit to a package offering are also sent home with their own customized meditation music that they may listen to at their convenience until their next session.
Can you walk us through a typical sound healing session at Simply Sound Vibrations and what someone can expect from the experience?
A typical sound healing session at Simply Sound Vibrations starts when you walk in the door. We first get the necessary intake forms completed and discuss any contraindications that might prevent you from having bowls placed on the body such as a pacemaker, blood clots, etc. We then take a Bio-well reading to see where and how your energy is flowing. We briefly discuss those findings. Then, the client goes into the treatment room where it is dimly lit and cozy. The client lies on the massage table fully clothed and under a blanket either face up or face down. The session begins by taking the time for deep breaths and intention for the session. Once the session is over, another Bio-well reading is done. The client is then able to see the changes in their energy and how it moves as we compare the before reading to the after reading. If the client has purchased a package of sessions (3, 6 or 12 months) they are then emailed a 15-minute meditation sound file based on their personal chakra placement at their after-session reading. This allows the client to keep themselves resonating at a certain frequency until their next session.
Clients can expect to feel relaxed after a sound massage session and may also feel sleepy. It is recommended to stay hydrated after having a session to flush out any toxins much like a regular body massage. It is also recommended to not do any strenuous activity after a sound massage session. It is common to start to feel better days after having a sound massage; however, it takes time before a client associates improvement with having regular sound massage sessions due to the subtle nature of the treatments.
What advice would you give to someone who is new to sound healing and interested in trying it out?
First, be open minded. If you go into trying sound healing with a skeptical mind that thinking will block any benefit you may receive. I would suggest someone try a sound bath first where one is immersed in the sound and frequencies that are in the room atmosphere. Most times this is in a group setting. Simply Sound Vibrations has an intimate sound bathing room that can accommodate up to 4 people at a time. If that appeals to you then try a short sound massage and gradually move up to the 50-minute sound massage sessions.
Can you quantify “spaces hold energy”?
Yes and no. The device I use to allow clients to see their energy flow also has an accessory to measure energy within a room. I do not, yet, have that accessory in my practice. However, you can sense the energy in a room. Have you ever walked into a room and you felt sad, or the air felt heavy, or you sensed anger. Those are the lingering energies of people that were in the room prior to you entering it. A lot of times, this energy is sensed when you go into old buildings that have been uninhabited for some time. It is always best to clear this energy prior to moving into a new space.
