Can you share the story of how Montclair Psychic School came into existence and what inspired you to create it?
I am a former South African and immigrated to the USA. I was working as a lawyer and randomly decided to take a class in spirit communication and to my surprise I seemed to be able to have the gift of mediumship. My teacher, who was from Australia, was very encouraging and arranged for some mediums to join a circle that I would lead (even though I had hardly any experience) and that’s how it took off. The place that I used to use for the circle shut down about 5 months later, so I decided to rent some space, simply because I wanted to continue to sit in a spirit circle. I was also on my own spiritual journey at the time and as I was developing, people started to ask me to help them. I seemed to have a natural affinity to teaching and the school really started to grow without it being intentional.
As I expanded my knowledge and skill sets, the school started to expand. The most important aspect of it was that I really enjoyed the journey and it was really only something that I was doing on the side. We soon needed a larger space and after a few years of doing this work part-time and in ALL my spare time, I was guided by the spirit world to let my professional job as a lawyer go and then I started working as a medium and healer on a full-time basis. It brings me so much joy to see how people take the classes and become the best version of themselves as they embrace their spiritual side. I think my journey has inspired many people who have also left their life-long careers and have become outstanding healers and mediums. The school is. not just for people who wish to become professional mediums, psychics, or healers – it is also a safe space for the everyday person to embrace their own spirituality, heal, and become successful in life.
What do the Montclair Psychic School classes look like and what can a person hope to learn in them?
The focus is on the development of evidentiary mediumship and healing. We have weekly circles for professional mediums and those who are already familiar with spirit communication. For classes in spirit communication, I offer in-person classes and online mentoring classes. The beginners class is 8 weeks and the intermediate and advanced class is 12 weeks. The classes are kept small to allow for individual guidance and feedback. Part of the mentoring classes is the experiential aspect. Local students have the added advantage of being able to attend the other circles and do their private sessions in person if they choose. Everyone gets to do readings with personal feedback on their readings as well as group work and private one on one sessions during the courses. I have taken many classes myself and believe that this is one of the finest mentoring programs in the world.
As far as energy healing is concerned, the school focuses chiefly on Usui Reiki Training, the traditional energy healing system from Japan. It is one of the most widely performed healing modalities in the world today. The Reiki classes are taught at a much higher level than the average class out there as I believe it is really important for students to understand the full scope of healing as opposed to just learning a specific modality.
Then there are other shorter classes focusing on other forms of mediumship, healing, psychic development, and general healing events. We offer meditations with sound vibrational healing. All in all, it is all just about energy, so all the classes are in some way interconnected. All the classes have techniques that will help students whether they are on the journey of a healer, psychic, or medium, or whether they are there just to enhance their own life. Being a lawyer earlier on in life, my classes are very down to earth, the teaching is of a high standard giving students the important information that will help them without any fluff that will waste a person’s time.
Can you tell us a bit about the work that you do through NJ Reiki Center?
Through the Reiki Center, the focus is just on training Usui Reiki Practitioners. There is an in-person and online version available with exactly the same information and standard. That part of the business is also focused on healing for the general public.
You offer different mentoring programs. Can anyone become a Medium or a Reiki Master with your assistance and guidance or is it only for people with special gifts or abilities?
I believe that psychic gifts and healing gifts are naturally inherent within all of us. It depends on which one a student is drawn to. It is a lot easier to develop Reiki than it is to become a medium. Mediumship development takes discipline and effort. The development of a medium to the point that they are confident and working at a high level can take a few years. Most people though have no desire to become a professional medium, and for them, they can develop over a shorter amount of time and still be able to do a basic reading for another. It is a wonderful gift to develop.

I have been trained in various modalities. I am a Certified Medium, Spiritual Life Coach, Clinical Hypnotist, Quantum Healing Hypnosis with Past Life Regression, Akashic Records Healer, Pranic Healer, Meditation Practitioner, Sound Vibrational Healer, Spirit Rescue Medium, and African Shamanic Healer.
Is there anything else about your work that you’d like to share that we haven’t covered?
All in all, the focus of my work is the following: To help people develop their skill sets as mediums and healers. I love to reconnect people to their families in the afterlife and to work with people in a healing capacity so that they can enhance their lives, become the best version of themselves and be successful.
