What was the pivotal moment or experience that led you to pursue a career as a healer and spiritual counselor, particularly focusing on modalities like Reiki and spiritual counseling?
It was about 10 years ago, I found myself going through a spiritual awakening. I began questioning what my life purpose is. I always felt the need to help people and this need felt stronger than ever. I happened across a crystal shop and started talking with the owner about my experiences with intuition and seeing spirits in my parent’s home. She was a Wicca witch and asked if she could read my palm. I was reluctant to do so but did. I was told I was a healer and needed to be trained in Reiki level 1. I was unsure what Reiki was but found a Usui Reiki Master in town who also taught Reiki. I decided to attend a Reiki session which was so amazing and relaxing. It was at that moment, specifically during the level 1 Reiki class, that I knew I was a healer. I knew this because as she was demonstrating to a volunteer, my hands were tingling intensely and I was seeing images of what occurred to the volunteer causing her severe headaches. My Reiki master told me she never had a student in a level 1 Reiki training be so in tune. From that point on, I continued my journey of healing others by receiving all 3 levels of Usui Reiki. When I practiced with others, I found the need to provide guidance. My Reiki Master told me of a Medical Intuitive and Spiritual Counseling course offered at The Healing Harmony Institute in CT. This course taught me so many questions to ask my clients to lead them to their own healing. Since then, I feel my Reiki practice has developed into something more than offering healing but to also empower my clients in the healing process.
How do you integrate your various certifications and practices, such as Reiki, medical intuition, spiritual counseling, and MARI, into your holistic approach to healing and counseling?
I offer a variety of sessions from a Reiki healing session to a Mind, Body, and Spirit session which includes all healing modalities. I feel the different sessions allow my client to choose what they are looking for whether it is a reading and Reiki or if they are feeling lost or stuck, there’s other sessions that incorporate spiritual counseling and/or MARI. If there are health concerns, most will choose the Medical Intuitive, which includes spiritual counseling, and a Reiki session which focuses on the chakra where the health issue is. My intention is to offer a variety of sessions, time length, and affordable pricing to fit everyone’s needs.
What type of services do you offer?
I offer Usui Holy Fire Reiki (which is Usui Reiki but a bit stronger in the healing needed), Reiki and Readings (30 minute to 90 minute sessions), Medical Intuitive and Spiritual Counseling, MARI and Spiritual counseling , as well as the Mind, Body, and Spirit session which incorporates MARI, spiritual counseling and a Reiki session.
As a Reiki Master/Practitioner, how do you perceive the connection between energy healing and traditional medicine?
I truly believe we have the ability to heal ourselves if we are aware of what is causing the “dis-ease”. However, I never tell my clients that I can cure them. There’s a big difference between healing and curing someone. If you have a disease which is brought on by a traumatic experience and through Reiki and Spiritual guidance, the need for traditional medication may not be needed. I have had clients who no longer needed medication for depression as they invested their time in attending Reiki sessions and were open to healing. If you want to be healed, you need to do the work. A reiki practitioner can help facilitate this. However, if someone is being treated for a disease which may be something you were destined to have or go through, I do feel Reiki can help. It can help decrease anxiety and help to process what is happening in your body, mind, and spirit.
In your journey to becoming a healer, what role has personal spiritual growth and development played, and how has it impacted your ability to effectively help others?
Experiencing the awakening and the courses/trainings I received has truly helped me to understand myself. I felt I was an empathetic person but through my journey, I am able to truly reflect on other’s actions/reactions which has helped me to not internalize what has occurred. Since I became a Reiki practitioner, I have found that when I have gone through a traumatic or difficult situation, although it was difficult I was able to reflect on what occurred and learned from them. It seems that once I have processed what occurred and the lesson/healing I needed for that situation, I will have a client schedule a session and strangely enough, share an experience they are currently facing which is almost identical to one I had previously. I always say my spirit team will send those who need my form of healing and by experiencing what they are currently going through, helps to provide the guidance and support to help them through it.
How do you maintain boundaries and self-care practices in your role as a healer and counselor, particularly when dealing with heavy emotional or energetic issues from clients?
One thing I have learned through my journey is that I am an empath and often can feel the energy of someone who is going through something that is quite heavy. I had to learn to question if the emotion or physical effect is truly mine or is it from someone else. I find that if I ask my spirit team to release me from any negativity or toxicity that I absorbed through the day and fill me with love, positivity and joy to help me live my life with purpose, I find myself feeling lighter. Prior to and after a session, I will sage the room as well to release any heavy energy that may be lingering, asking it to not attach to anyone or anything. I will admit that boundaries are something I am working on. I have had clients who stay well past the time they scheduled for or come frequently regarding the same issue but are not doing the work needed to promote their own
healing. I never want to turn someone away but I also learned that my self care is important in order for me to truly be the healer I am meant to be.
