Meet Katie Rubin, a beacon of spiritual healing and transformation. In this exclusive interview, she shares her remarkable journey into energy healing, the mysteries of the Akashic Records, her collaborative work with Dr. Lisa Koenig, and more. MysticMag has the pleasure.
How did you get into energy healing and what drew you to it?
I attended the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism after hitting a wall in my own spiritual journey. Despite seven years of sobriety, I found myself in immense emotional and physical pain. The opportunity to go to this school fell into my lap synchronistically so I went and learned how to do divine light healing work. In the learning process, I also discovered that I had an ability to do it with other people, as well.
What energy healing modalities do you use?
There isn’t a name for it. I essentially connect with consciousness and divinity, which are slightly different energies. There’s divine light, and then there’s conscious awareness. They work together in concert inside the human system. I connect with both of them and pull them through my field and into the field of the client in order to transmute dense energies like trauma and karma that keep people suffering.
It’s direct contact with the divine and consciousness. Trauma, injury, and emotional pain live as unconscious energy in the body so conscious energy or divine light is conscious. It’s awake, it’s love, it’s unity. So, if you can bring awakeness, love, and unity to that which is dead inside of us, you can transmute all that dense energy into healthy energy. That is basically what I base my energy work on and how I approach it.
How does Akashic Records reading work?
Various teachers of the Akashic Records each have their own unique method for accessing this realm of consciousness. Typically, each teacher employs a specific prayer to access the Akashic Records, which they then teach to their students. Once this prayer is recited and a spiritual connection is established with this realm of consciousness known as the Akasha, which I like to refer to as the heart of the divine/God, all information becomes accessible.
If you have the ability, natural or developed, to perceive and receive information through your own nervous system easily, you can be inside the Akasha and receive guidance, directions, and answers to any question about any person, place, or thing. Essentially, you’re using a prayer to access a high state of conscious awareness and bring information from there to the client.
You have also teamed up with Dr. Lisa Koenig. What can you tell me about the work you’re doing together?
Dr. Lisa Koenig is a practitioner specializing in physical and emotional healing in the Oakland area of California. She and I do the Divine light consciousness work. To have teamed up to create very powerful two-healer-one-client healing sessions where we’re treating people at the level of the physical organs. Any kind of sickness, disease, or injury in the organs is being treated at the same time as the emotional, spiritual, and psychic body, as well as the auric field and the mental plane.
These sessions are pretty intense so we recommend a maximum of two sessions per month, with follow-ups scheduled after a month to assess progress. To learn more about these sessions, visit katierubin.com and lisakoenig.com.
What keeps you motivated to continue to do the work that you’re doing?
I like to think of it metaphorically. Imagine that you’re in the desert and everyone around you is thirsty and without water. Meanwhile, you have a backpack full of water and you need some water yourself, but you realize that you don’t need all of it. You start to realize that if you give away the backpack full of water, you could help these people. I think and feel about my work in that way. If I’m being honest, the backpack gets heavy if I’m not using it for people. It’s almost like there’s pressure in my body to contribute to people spiritually or I will suffer. I think it’s a part of my karma. It’s a part of what I am here to do in this lifetime, and when I don’t do it, things start to back up in my own life. They don’t feel right and I don’t feel happy. However, when I get back into doing this work, everybody’s benefiting, including myself. So, in a way it’s altruistic, but there’s also a selfish component to it.
Do you have any special messages for our readers to finish off?
For a long time, I was an actor and a healer. I’m bringing this up because people often think that spiritual healers or teachers are a specific brand of people. However, I aim to help empower people to understand that you can do spiritual healing work and not be wearing white robes or live on a mountain.
I was simultaneously an actor and doing spiritual healing work and teaching with people. Nowadays, I also have a home staging business where I make houses pretty for realtors to sell. My business is Signature Staging in the Bay (www.signaturestaginginthebay.com) and having 2 “jobs” brings balance into my work and into my life. If I’m doing enough staging work, I love the healing work, but if I’m only doing the healing work, I start to resent it. Similarly, if I’m only doing the staging work, I start to get really depleted. They weirdly create this kind of counterbalance to one another in my life and I like to offer that framework for people because many people give certain things up in their lives, even though it’s not necessary. Maybe they just need to bring it into balance with other things that are going on in their life. This is what I want to empower people to think and question in relation to their own lives.
