With over 25 years in skincare and energy medicine, how has your approach to holistic wellness evolved, and what are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned along the way?
Over the past 25 years, my approach to holistic wellness has undergone a significant transformation. Initially, my focus was primarily on traditional skincare, as I worked to understand the external factors that affect the skin’s health. However, as I delved deeper into energy medicine, I came to realise that true beauty isn’t just about what we apply to our skin. It’s about balance, the balance between the mind, body, and spirit. I began to incorporate practices that aligned not only the physical but also the energetic and emotional aspects of my clients’ well-being.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of listening to the body. Our skin, like the rest of our body, communicates with us. When we pay attention to its needs, whether through mindful skincare routines, energy balancing, or emotional healing techniques, we can achieve far more sustainable and profound results. Another key lesson is the significance of self-care and self-awareness. Over the years, I’ve seen that the most successful and long-lasting skincare results come when people nurture their inner selves, not just their outer appearance.
Gua Sha is often seen as both a beauty ritual and a healing practice. How did you first discover its benefits, and what drew you to specialize in this technique?
I first encountered Gua Sha through my studies in energy medicine. I was intrigued by its history as both a healing practice and a beauty ritual, especially because it seemed to embody the holistic approach I had come to value in my own work. The technique intrigued me because of its ability to help balance the body’s energy, improve circulation, and enhance overall wellness. As I learned more, I realised that Gua Sha offers not just skin benefits but also works deeply with the body’s energy flow. I became particularly interested in the way it can help move stagnation in the body, release tension, and promote relaxation.
What truly drew me to specialise in Gua Sha was how powerful and restorative it is. The beauty aspect is important—of course, the technique helps with facial rejuvenation, reduces puffiness, and promotes a radiant glow but it also goes beyond that. It works on the energetic level, making it a tool for both healing and beauty. Gua Sha’s ability to address both the physical and energetic components of health was a natural fit for my philosophy of holistic wellness, I’m now thrilled to share its incredible benefits with others through my accredited courses and a range of Gua Sha tools.
What type of services do you offer?
I offer a range of services designed to enhance both outer beauty and inner well-being. My primary focus is on holistic skincare, and I specialise in Gua Sha, Face Yoga, energy medicine, sound healing and crystal massage techniques for the face and body. These treatments are designed to not only rejuvenate the skin but also balance the body’s energy, helping clients feel refreshed and revitalised.
In addition to these facial treatments, I also offer energy medicine therapies, which help to address imbalances in the body’s energy system. Through crystal healing, sound, and qigong other energy-balancing techniques, I work to support the body’s natural healing processes. For clients who want a more personalised approach, I provide wellness consultations to help them integrate holistic practices into their daily routines. This could include everything from stress management techniques to personalised skincare routines that support both their physical and energetic needs.
You’ve studied with some of the greatest masters in holistic health. Can you share a memorable lesson or insight from one of your mentors that has shaped your practice?
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to study under some truly inspiring mentors in the field of holistic health, and each of them has taught me invaluable lessons. One lesson that stands out came from a mentor who taught me about the significance of energy flow in the body. They emphasised that everything in life is interconnected—what we experience emotionally, mentally, and physically all influences the energy within us. This profound lesson has deeply shaped the way I approach my work, especially in terms of treating the skin.
Since then, I’ve integrated energy medicine into all of my treatments, whether I’m doing Gua Sha, Face Yoga, or crystal facials. My mentor helped me see that every facial treatment is not just about the skin’s surface but also about how energy is flowing within the body. If energy is stagnant or blocked, it can manifest in various ways, both physically and emotionally. That’s why, in my practice, I work to help clients clear blockages and restore balance, not only to improve their skin but also to enhance their overall health and well-being. No treatment or workshop is ever the same.
Skincare is often about more than just what we apply to our skin. How do you incorporate energy medicine and internal balance into your approach to beauty and well-being?
I believe that skincare is as much about the internal as it is about the external. Energy medicine plays a crucial role in my approach because I see beauty as a reflection of the balance within. Whether it’s through crystal healing, sound therapy, or other energy-balancing practices, I help clients align their energy, reduce stress, and promote emotional well-being—these are all key factors in achieving glowing, healthy skin.
One of the ways I incorporate energy medicine is by using crystals during facial and body treatments. Crystals have unique vibrational frequencies that can help balance and align energy in the body. For example, Amethyst is known for its calming and healing properties, making it ideal for clients seeking emotional balance and relaxation. Obsidian, on the other hand, is a powerful protective stone that helps release negativity and bring clarity. By integrating energy medicine with skincare treatments, I offer clients a holistic experience that nurtures both their outer appearance and inner peace. I wanted to create my own range The Skin Whisperers to incorporate into my treatments, teaching, and workshops so that I could ensure the highest quality of crystals and products.
In a world filled with fast beauty trends, how do you encourage clients to slow down and embrace a more mindful, holistic approach to skincare?
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the latest beauty trends and quick fixes. However, I always encourage my clients to take a step back and focus on long-term, sustainable results. Skincare is a journey, not a destination, and I believe that the best results come when we take the time to nurture our bodies and minds. I work with my clients to develop routines that promote self-care and mindfulness—whether through Face Yoga, Gua Sha, or other holistic practices.
I also emphasise the importance of being present during treatments. When we are mindful, we allow ourselves to truly absorb the benefits of these techniques. Rather than rushing through skincare routines or looking for instant results, I help clients understand that the key to true beauty is consistency, patience, and being connected to both their body and mind. Slowing down and embracing a more mindful approach to skincare not only enhances results but also promotes a sense of well-being that goes far beyond appearance.
