This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Janice Pietzak, a Medium and Spiritual Consultant. She spoke about her beginnings, why she loves her profession and gave some advice to new psychic readers.
When did you first realize you have a psychic gift, and how did your psychic career develop since then?
I realized I had a gift at a very early age. I can remember as far back as around age 4 having an extraordinary connection to my mother. At age 6, when my mother passed away(she is my main guide) was when my abilities really took off.
I actually talk about it in my book,” Their Whispers Tell A Story”. There is a chapter about how I communicated with my Mother in her wake.
From that point on my ability developed very quickly. It has always been whispers, thoughts, feelings. I came to realize these were messages. At first, I would read friends and family for fun and finally decided to go pro much later on in life at age 50.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?
Well, I do a couple of different types of readings. Normally, I use 2 types of decks, Tarot and Oracle. I find that they bounce off of each other. This is a good reading if the client wants to know where their life, money, love, etc. is going.
Common concerns are just that, especially since Covid hit. Many financial concerns. I am also a Psychic medium(trans medium at times). There is a very big call for medium work. I think people just want to know that their loved ones are okay. I also feel that this type of reading has become popular since shows like Long Island Medium and others have been on television more frequently.
Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
I think the most demanding type of readings is the mediumship ( communicating with the dead). This type of reading is always very personal to the client and it is my responsibility to deliver these messages with honesty and tact.
I don’t feed into a drama which is one of the big problems I think readers with integrity face today. I truly try to reach into getting these messages delivered correctly. As I stated in question 2, I am a trans medium which means I sometimes develop the actual facial expressions or ailments of the deceased( ie: my fingers twisting if the person had bad arthritis).
This can be very uncomfortable and draining which is why I depend on my four spirit guides to step forward with the deceased as a buffer. They will relay the messages to me.
What do you love most about your profession?
The thing I love most about my work is the peace and closure I can give to my client. It is extremely rewarding to see a former client whose life was in shambles return for reading completely whole again. I also love people. You have to be a people person and a good communicator to be in this line of work.
What advice would you give to a fledgling psychic reader? Is it better for them to work independently or as a part of a team?
My best advice to anyone getting into this field is to trust yourself. Don’t let anyone shake you, especially since there are a lot of skeptics out there. The skeptical people I read usually end up becoming my best clients!
Deliver your messages with truth and honesty even if it seems ridiculous at the time. I always tell my clients “I know what I know and I stand behind what I am saying.”I really feel that it is everyone’s personal choice as to how they want to work. If you are more comfortable in a team setting then go for it. I personally prefer to work alone.
Do you have a special message for our readers in these difficult times?
My message to anyone at this time is to keep their thoughts POSITIVE! We all have the ability to manifest things we bring into our lives. This is all based on quantum physics therefore positive thought, positive results.
Also always remember to be the best YOU that YOU can be every day. Kindness is what we all need in our lives and you can change someone’s day simply with a smile or a hello. What we give is what we receive.
