Can you explain how intuitive healing and astrology intersect, and how one’s intuitive abilities might enhance their understanding and application of astrological insights?
The simple answer to this question is: that everything is connected. The ever-changing astrology has an impact on all of our lives. Many of us can notice that something is different, something is “off”. The first step in applying astrological insights to intuitive healing is simply noticing the change. Then, noticing what has changed and how it has changed. The longer you practice these steps, the more applying astrology will come naturally to you.
Once you’ve learned the basics of astrology (the properties of the planets and signs), you can utilize your intuitive senses to find patterns. For example, let’s say you usually feel a creative spark around summertime. It’s almost as if you want to shout from the rooftops and express yourself. This has been a pattern for many years. Then, when you learn that the sun shines through the Leo constellation from late July through late August, you will begin to attribute Leo’s energy to creativity and self-expression. Then, to use this intuitive knowing for self-healing, you can make predictions using your natal chart about when there may be a lack of this energy available to you or when it’s abundant and available to you, and proceed with awareness and tactfulness.
If you’d like to learn the basics of astrology, I have a course available on my Insight Timer teacher profile named Astrology 101.
In what ways do you believe intuitive healing practices can complement traditional astrological interpretations, and how might they provide a more holistic approach to addressing personal challenges or growth?
I believe intuitive healing and astrology go hand-in-hand. I often find myself relating astrological transits and themes to things I’ve learned along my healing journey. To clarify, I consider intuitive healing to be any form of healing or growth that is influenced by your intuition more strongly than by following a specific teaching, theory, or practice. So many of us know exactly what our bodies and souls need to grow and thrive, but we’ve been convinced that others have more power and knowledge, thus rendering our intuitive knowledge inept. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
By interpreting astrology, I believe our intuitive healing abilities are heightened naturally through the story and metaphor available from the planets. For example, let’s break down an astrological transit together. Let’s pretend that Mercury is going to form a square with Saturn. Mercury represents our mental plane; our thoughts, ideas, and communication. Saturn represents our boundaries, limits, structures, and responsibilities. Additionally, in a square aspect, the two planets are “at odds” with each other and we may feel the tension. We can predict that there may be a responsibility in our lives that will be in a “head-to-head confrontation” with our communication style. (Such as having a responsibility to communicate or inform someone in your life about something that you normally wouldn’t think was necessary). In astrology, the planet with the larger orbit “wins” these tension-based transits.
By understanding how this astrology works, I can anticipate that I’m going to be held responsible for communicating something that I might not want to. When the moment comes, I know that Saturn (Father Time) wants me to do what is right. He is also the planet with the larger orbit in this scenario. Thus, I have a “reason” to do the right thing. Over time by applying this knowledge to your life, healing occurs as you have concrete “reasons” and benefits to shifting your behaviors and choices for the highest good.
How do you navigate the potential skepticism surrounding intuitive healing and astrology, and what evidence or experiences do you find most compelling in demonstrating their effectiveness?
The energies of the planets are going to impact you whether you believe it or not. If someone holds skepticism around the impact of astrology, this does not change my life or my work in any way. I’m not here to prove that astrology is real. I know it is. I’ve lived it and experienced it over and over again. There was a time in my life when I did not understand the patterns of the sky, and my life was much more difficult as it was seemingly pointless. Astrology always finds people at the exact right time. I’d suggest that if someone is feeling “pulled” to astrology or feeling any type of interest, dive into whatever intrigues you. There’s no “right” or “wrong” place to start. You’ll always end up right where you’re meant to be.
A major theme that we all experience is what’s called the Saturn Return. This event happens between the ages of 28-30 as Saturn returns to the same place in the sky where he was when you were born. Saturn, as stated in the example above, is known as “Father Time”. He ensures you are on track, on time, and taking responsibility for your life.
If you have been paying attention to Saturn’s “messages” (events that occur about every 7 years to test your Saturn progress), Saturn tends to present a large blessing during his return. For example, my Saturn Return involved me having a gigantic spiritual awakening, quitting my career, and opening my own business. Needless to say, it was difficult, but I take this as a blessing from Saturn as my life has drastically changed for the better. On the other hand, if you’ve been rejecting Saturn’s messages or fighting against the path he’s been trying to steer you towards, he may bring a large disruption to your life such as a major loss of a job or loved one or being confronted with a major life decision you are not ready to make.
Astrology is always here to serve your highest good. The planets serve as guides to help redirect you when you’ve made some iffy choices.
Can you share a specific case or example where intuitive healing and astrology worked together to provide profound insights or positive outcomes for an individual?
Little miracles happen with my clients every day! Even a 60-minute astrology reading can be life-changing. Oftentimes we move through life on auto-pilot, believing that everything is happening to us. A natal chart reading provides insight surrounding the path that your soul chose for this lifetime. Suddenly, your memories of growing up in a dysfunctional household serve as lessons and “training” for you to become the outstanding person you are today.
I can share a personal story related to this. My Saturn return occurred in February of 2021. I am still digesting the intricacy of this life-changing event. At the time, I was aware that something was changing, but it was my research and curiosity about astrology that helped me utilize the available energies to completely transform my life. Everyone has their first Saturn return between the ages of 28-30. The way I see it, the more aware and mindfully you’ve been living, the easier the consequences of your return. Before February 2021, I was a public school teacher working full time, complying with the rules of my authority figures because they were the ones who provided my paychecks. A few months after my Saturn return, I had opened my spiritual business, quit my career, and was more comfortable than ever standing up for myself and questioning obligatory boundaries that didn’t resonate with me. I attribute much of my growth to my understanding of astrology. Without it, I might have floundered not knowing what to expect. Always with astrology, you can predict how long your life might take to transition. Having a rough estimate of the timeline often provides solace.
Additionally, I attribute astrology to the success of my marriage. I was in the early stages of diving deeper into astrology when I met my husband. I, a Taurus sun, had a nice habit of getting attached to my partners, keeping them on a short leash because they were “mine”. When this Sagittarius man walked into my life, I knew that Sagittarians cannot be leashed. I had to break my pattern of clinging to have a healthy, successful relationship. Seven years later I’m still using astrology to navigate and strengthen our relationship!
How do you approach the ethical considerations involved in offering intuitive healing and astrological guidance, particularly when it comes to issues of privacy and the potential influence on major life decisions?
A healer is not someone who heals you. A healer is someone who shows you how to heal yourself. My clients come to their conclusions. I am no one’s guru. I am not anything more than anyone else can be. I am here to help people understand the available energy so that they can make decisions in alignment with their highest good.
Most of the time my clients already have their minds made up when it comes to major life decisions, even if they don’t realize it. It’s normal for our ego to desire validation that we’re making the “right” choice. My role is to help them see what’s ahead and what’s going to be available. Humans are capable of so much. We are so incredibly strong. I am here to help my clients see their situation from an astrological standpoint.
As both intuitive healing and astrology are deeply personal and subjective, how do you tailor your approach to accommodate the unique needs and beliefs of each client? How do you strike a balance between providing guidance and empowering clients to make their own choices based on astrological insights?
The more detached I remain, the more effective I can be. The more I heal myself, the more detached I can be.
I used to work in a low socioeconomic school district. I had so much empathy for the students who were handed some terrible situations. I took their stories home with me. I cried about their home lives. I held their pain for as long as I could, and it took me to some dark places. What I didn’t notice at the time was that this was a warning signal that I had to heal and accept my shadow parts.
For years, I’ve come face-to-face with the parts of myself that I did not want to accept; the parts of myself I was ashamed and embarrassed of. By learning to accept and embrace those parts of myself, I have learned how to observe the shadows in others without trying to come to their rescue.
Unhealed healers (or readers) tend to attach their shadows and triggers to those of their clients. Their clients’ problems become the healer or reader’s problems. By continuing to love and heal myself, I am ensuring that I am not seeing my triggers and shadows in my clients, resulting in giving biased advice. I hear each person’s story, as they all are unique, and I reference their natal chart to see how their energy is “wired” to succeed.
Additionally, my biggest role is to dissect the clients’ charts. I inform them what each of their placements means. My clients make their own decisions. I’m here to help them decode their natal “blueprint”.
