Hayley Pearson is an Energy Therapist who offers a range of courses from various forms of Reiki, Face the World ones, the Nine Rites of the Munay-Ki. Here’s what she had to say about her beginnings, the Serenity Touch, and what can a person expect from her sessions.
When did you first know that being an Energy Therapist was your calling and how did it come about?
I began on this energy path back in 2006 following a reading with a medium. This lady told me I would become a Reiki Master Teacher and help others through therapies as well as teachings. At this point, I’d begun training in Indian head massage as following the birth of my children I’d suffered ill health, physically and mentally. I found conventional medicine helped the symptoms but it didn’t help the cause. This is where my direction into complementary therapies and energy healing began. I found using complementary therapies helped me so much that I wanted to learn and help others in similar situations to myself. Hence the direction into learning various therapies – physical and energy ones started.
When I began my Reiki training and received my first attunement I knew I wanted to teach others, like the self-healing I had done as part of my learning after this first course had such a profound effect on me I knew it could help others. Being on this energy path is like an addiction, but a good one, as for myself I want to learn more as this will help me first and foremost enabling me to then help others.
Working and learning to work with energy in various forms followed and I’m honored to be able to do what I love. As an energy therapist and Reiki Master Teacher I know incorporate many elements into my therapy sessions, workshops, and courses – you can enjoy a combination of crystals, reiki, sound healing, shamanic work, auric field tuning forks, color and essence work along with oracle card readings.
What is Serenity Touch?
Serenity Touch came about when I decided to become a self-employed Holistic therapist. I wanted to involve sharing the physical therapies, such as massage, along with the energy ones like reiki and crystals to make a difference to my clients and students.
The name needed to incorporate bringing about a feeling of calm (Serenity) along with the physical aspects that healing can bring about. Hence Serenity Touch. I also knew that I wouldn’t be able to massage forever and I wanted a name that would allow myself and the business to evolve from the physical therapies into the energy ones. This is where I now find myself – moving into working purely with energy for my clients and students.
This is where the workshops, courses, and sound baths now come in. I’ve found being on this energy path I continually need to move forward and my life and work keep evolving – all for the good!
What sort of therapies do you offer?
I offer individual sessions where you can enjoy reiki sessions, crystal healing, sound, and vibrational work, auric field tuning work, essence and color healing along with Indian head massage, Thai foot massage, acupressure facials, and reflexology.
Clients can also enjoy 2-hour treatments where I combine various elements of the energy healing aspects from the above information. They find a great clearing, balancing, and release during these sessions.
What can a person expect from your sessions?
When a client books a session I always discuss briefly their needs as to what they are looking for from their treatment. This is so we can prepare any elements needed, such as sound, crystals, essences, etc, prior to their arrival for their appointment. On arrival, I fill out a consultation form with the client ensuring all aspects of what they wish to receive from the session are discussed and talked about.
I generally find this brings about a release as well as finding out the reasons why they have come to see me. Once this is completed I then fully explain what may happen during the session and how I will be holding it. This will involve either a placing of crystals or singing bowls on or around the body while they experience the hands-on or hands-off (depending on what I intuitively feel is needed during the treatment) healing of reiki.
I then work with sound using gongs, chimes, drums, Himalayan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, and the resonance tubes. After the session, I will allow the clients to ask questions and process what may have occurred during the treatment. I always the client feel safe and grounded and am ready to leave normally feeling better and brighter than when they arrived.
What is the most important detail in maintaining a relationship of mutual trust with customers?
Trust is vital when working as an Energy Therapist as my clients and students need to know they can talk freely and safely as well as in confidence. Building this relationship will help with any physical and/or emotional releases they need to let go. I always hold a safe and sacred space for them so they feel comfortable, relaxed, and calm in the environment where they are having their session.
My therapy room is a tranquil area allowing my clients to feel at peace as soon as they arrive. This helps them have that trust in me which helps to build a good working relationship as this will always lead to better treatment for themselves. So for me, the most important aspect is allowing them a safe space to share and talk freely knowing that anything they share will be held in the highest confidence.
What do you love most about your profession?
I love the fact that this doesn’t feel like work! Working with energy, crystals, sound, and reiki is hugely healing for me as well as my clients and students. Who gets to go to work and feel better at the end of the working day? I do and it heals my heart and soul to know the difference it can make to all who walk through the door of my therapy room.
My aim when I began working in this field was to make a change for all who came to see me. If a client feels brighter after their session then I have done what I set out to do. I love seeing the changes that my clients and students go through, and moving forward in the best way for them. I’m only here as a facilitator for them, I provide the tools that they can use to heal and help themselves.
That is what I love about being an Energy Therapist, being able to help others and give them the options and tools to help themselves and move forward in their physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
