Subtle Energy Medicine: Dr. Gareth Thomas on Healing, Crystals, and Transformation

Subtle Energy Medicine: Dr. Gareth Thomas on Healing, Crystals, and Transformation

It is our pleasure to introduce Dr. Gareth Thomas, founder of Energy Medicine International. In his exclusive MysticMag interview, Dr. Thomas shares his journey into the world of energy healing and the founding of his school. He discusses the profound role of Subtle Energy Medicine, crystal healing, and other holistic modalities in promoting self-healing and guiding others towards deeper spiritual growth.

Can you share a few details about the founding story of Energy Medicine International?

Energy Medicine International was founded in 2011, just before, and in time for the big 2012 shift in consciousness and subsequent expansion of the healing movement. I had been teaching for an associated school where I trained as a practitioner and teacher. The shift in energies at the time pushed me into becoming my own school principal. It was also born out of the necessity to offer profound energy work with crystals, alongside the growing need for people to explore inner work safely and effectively.

It is there as a source for those interested in stepping onto the serious path of self-healing & development, whilst helping others and humanity as a whole. Its foundational ethos is to ensure that energy work with the crystal and mineral kingdoms is carried out with respect and always in line with the highest good of all.

What is Subtle Energy Medicine and how does it work?

Subtle Energy Medicine is a term founded by my teacher, great friend, and colleague, Henriette Maasdijk, the late Principal of The Vibrational Healing Foundation. It relates to an expanded form of Crystal and Energy Healing that incorporates the vibrational elements of sound, colour, and flowers.

These are used to assist the healer in bringing about the required vibrational changes in the client’s subtle energy systems (sometimes called the aura and chakras), whilst channelling healing energies to promote a person’s innate healing ability. Subtle Energy Medicine training exists at practitioner and specialist levels with the training ranging from 2-5 years respectfully.

What other healing services do you offer?

The other modalities of healing that I offer, are Crystal and Energy Healing, Bach Flower Therapy and Stress Therapy. Although great therapies within their own right, sometimes they may be incorporated into a longer therapy plan that has a more holistic approach, as it can work on many levels of Being.

Healing takes place on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. It is useful to have at-hand therapies that complement each other, in a way that can benefit clients who need a more bespoke approach. These therapies are offered in one-to-one sessions as well as via Zoom sessions and are reasonably priced so that they are accessible to more people.

What healing courses do you offer and how are they structured?

Energy Medicine International presently offers a 2 year, part-time Healing course that leads to a diploma qualification in Crystal and Energy Healing and a Practitioner Certificate in Subtle Energy Medicine, which is Accredited by The Federation of Subtle Energy Medicine The courses are for groups of 8-10 people, who come together to learn how to sense, assess and channel healing energies into the human subtle energy systems. The main tool for shaping and focusing healing energies are crystals. These are covered in great dept. Added to this knowledge is the use of colour, sound, and flowers. Profound development sits at the centre of the course and subjects such as inner child, past life healing, and death and dying are included, just to mention some key topics.

It is a wonderful experience taking a group through 2 years of development and being that positive changes the work brings to their lives.

What is in store for EMI going forward?

As the energies are changing in a way that is bringing great changes for humanity, Energy Medicine International is embarking on teaching healers how to work on wounding. A big part of the healers’ work is working on their wounds and healing them as well as bringing meaning and understanding to them. Very often healers get stuck in patterns and cannot move through them and find the fulfillment that they feel is there within, but just cannot access it.

Courses for qualified healers and a greater focus on this work for trainee healers will be a bigger part of Energy Medicine International’s work. Apart from this sharing grounded knowledge about crystals and healing and how these may enrich a person’s life, will be important going forward. On the whole, it’s about bringing light in for humanity’s vibration to lift.

Is there anything else about your work that you’d like to share that we haven’t covered?

Working with energy for self-healing is very enriching and can be done by anyone.  Working as a practitioner is different. It takse many hours of dedicated practice, training, and a serious interest in self-awareness, as well as an ability to look honestly at one’s strengths and weaknesses. This is sometimes referred to as looking at one’s shadow.

This type of work can go to incredibly deep levels and can bring about great changes for the individual, as well as for the collective consciousness of humanity. Working with crystals adds a dimension of seriousness to the inner development process. This is because it can bring to light core issues or patterns that otherwise can remain hidden. So it’s something that I feel needs to be taken seriously, as well as having a sense of fun and enjoyment whilst working with these energies.
