How did you get into the field of hypnotherapy and what drew you to it?
My journey into hypnotherapy was a blend of personal discovery and professional evolution. From a young age, I always knew I wanted to be in healthcare. I distinctly remember being in kindergarten, and when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I wrote “pediatrician.” At that time, my understanding of healers was limited to either a pediatrician or God, so I chose the former as it seemed more attainable.
Throughout my adolescence and teenage years, I was consistently involved in caregiving roles. In high school, I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), caring for children and the elderly. As I progressed to college, my interests shifted more towards psychology. I pursued and completed a degree in psychology, but my journey took an unexpected turn when I began experiencing severe anxiety in my early thirties.
This anxiety was so intense that it manifested physically, resembling seizures, which led me to multiple hospital visits and extensive testing. Ultimately, it was diagnosed as severe anxiety, not a neurological condition. This prompted a referral to a therapist and a psychiatrist. Despite my initial aspirations to become a psychiatrist, my personal experience as a patient revealed that the focus in psychiatry was primarily on medication management rather than holistic healing, which didn’t align with my values, even though the psychiatrist was wonderful.
Determined to heal myself naturally, I turned to holistic methods, incorporating nature, physical activity, a healthy diet, meditation, and positive affirmations into my routine. I obtained a bachelor’s in Metaphysical Science and am now pursuing a Master’s in Metaphysical Science, with plans of continuing on to my PhD.
During this journey, I was introduced to hypnotherapy through a powerful story of its impact on a highly-ranked Sergeant in the military who had suffered a stroke. His remarkable recovery through hypnotherapy resonated deeply with me, and I felt a calling to explore this field further.
Although I was initially occupied with other commitments, I made a mental note to revisit hypnotherapy. About a year later, I pursued formal training, undergoing a rigorous interview process to be accepted into a reputable program. After two years of intensive study and practice, I became a certified hypnotherapist.
Today, as a certified hypnotherapist, I use the knowledge and skills I acquired through my journey to help others overcome their challenges and heal naturally.
What is Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) and how does it work?
Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) is a specialized form of hypnotherapy designed to deliver fast and effective results. While there are various methods of conducting hypnotherapy sessions, RTT distinguishes itself through its structure and outcomes.
A typical RTT session lasts between 90 and 120 minutes. During this time, the client undergoes a deep, immersive process that leads to immediate and noticeable results. We can describe the experience as a “mental massage,” where the client feels a profound sense of release, clarity, and direction, akin to having a massage therapist work on their brain.
The session begins with identifying the root causes of the client’s issues. This involves deep inquiry and exploration, much like a form of mental surgery, where we dig deep to uncover the connections and impacts of past experiences on current behaviors and thoughts. Throughout this process, we aim to reframe and clear out any negative or limiting beliefs.
At the end of the session, the last 15 minutes are dedicated to creating a personalized recording for the client. This recording is tailored to reinforce the positive changes and suggestions made during the session. Clients are instructed to listen to this recording daily for the next 30 days. This period is crucial as it helps solidify the new, positive neural pathways formed during the session, ensuring lasting change.
By following this regimen, clients often experience even greater improvements and reinforcement of their new perspectives and behaviors by the end of the 30 days. This approach makes RTT not only rapid in terms of initial results but also transformational in sustaining long-term positive changes.
What can you tell me about Sunshine Sessions and what benefits can people hope to get from them?
Sunshine Sessions are a transformative daily practice inspired by the book “Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod, which lists 5 or 6 things a person should do every morning in order to start living a happier, healthier, and more productive life. I began to practice and implement these things, but I realized there were some components that were missing, at least from my perspective, as I added them to the existing ones and structured them into my Sunshine Sessions. I personally do these every day. I wake up around 4:30 AM and do my Sunshine session. A session can be as long as you want it to be, and mine usually lasts around 4 hours.
These can include meditation, affirmations, visualization, exercise, reading, journaling, gratitude, and home care. In my case, each component typically lasts 5 to 15 minutes, with exercise and home care taking a bit longer, typically up to an hour.
The benefits of Sunshine Sessions are numerous. Establishing a structured routine helps provide clarity and direction for the day ahead, making it easier to stay focused and productive. Starting the day with positive activities such as affirmations and gratitude sets a positive tone, fostering a more optimistic outlook on life. For those who are spiritual, this time is invaluable for connecting with a higher power, whether it be the universe, spirit, or God. By incorporating activities that cater to the mind, body, and spirit, Sunshine Sessions promote overall health and well-being in a very healthy and natural way.
It is my goal to guide as many people as possible all around the world towards total and complete healing where they no ultimately no longer need therapy as well as many other medical treatments, devices, and medications, and they are living the lives they truly desire. With RTT, I strongly believe this is possible.
You also offer Tarot readings. What can you tell me about that part of your work?
I absolutely love my Tarot readings. I’ve been fascinated by Tarot since I was a very small child. However, due to my family’s Christian background, I never expressed my interest because I feared being condemned or shunned. As an adult, I feel that I’ve been spiritually led to do Tarot. I’ve embraced this passion and now offer Tarot readings for others, including my family and loved ones. I believe Tarot readings are love messages from Spirit, offering guidance and support.
Many people fear Tarot and hypnotherapy, so I always begin my Tarot sessions with a bit of education to demystify the process. I explain that the messages received are meant to guide you towards your best life, providing direction and clarity. Like the Bible, Tarot is a way for me to connect to God.
Tarot is not about predicting the future with certainty, as the future is fluid and influenced by our choices. Instead, it sheds light on current experiences, past influences, and potential paths forward, offering suggestions and guidance. However, you can always choose to take a completely different route.
My Tarot readings help connect with the divine, offering insights and guidance that can improve your outlook or just keep you on your desired path, but amp it up a bit. Sessions can vary in length, from as short as 5-10 minutes to much longer, depending on the depth of the inquiry. One of my most memorable sessions lasted 12 hours, filled with deep conversation and numerous questions as we transitioned from one year to the next.
In essence, Tarot readings are a way to connect with Spirit, gain clarity, and receive loving guidance for navigating life’s journey. They are not just about predicting the future but about understanding the present and making informed decisions to shape a better future.
What other services do you offer?
In addition to hypnotherapy and Tarot readings, I offer a variety of other services. For those who prefer not to engage in hypnotherapy, I provide standard therapy or coaching sessions, allowing for one-on-one guidance and support. As a Reiki practitioner, I offer both in-person and virtual long-distance Reiki healing sessions.
I also have a background in business development, which was my career for a considerable time before I started my own practice. I continue to assist individuals with building and developing their businesses.
Is there anything else about your work that you’d like to share that we haven’t covered?
I want to emphasize that hypnotherapy is a very natural and effective way of healing yourself. Many people are unaware that they experience hypnosis naturally every day. Hypnosis essentially describes your brain wave activity, where your brain is in a very relaxed state, not analyzing, processing, or debating.
Two times during the day when you naturally enter a state of hypnosis are when you are drifting off to sleep and when you are waking up. During these moments, your brain wave activity is minimal, and you are more suggestible. For instance, if someone asks you to do something while you are groggy just before sleep, you might agree without much thought.
Moreover, many people do not realize that they also go into hypnosis when watching television or movies. When you’re engrossed in a show or film, your brain isn’t actively processing or debating; it’s just receiving information. This state can make you more susceptible to the messages being conveyed, whether they’re positive or negative. Your mind does not distinguish between real and fictional experiences, so the content you consume can significantly influence your thoughts and behaviors.
When people take a step back and analyze what’s happening around them – is their spouse partner mean to them, are they having issues at work or within their family? A lot of times they’ll realize that their life looks like a TV show or a movie. It’s because they’re operating off of the television shows and the movies that they’re watching and that they’re consuming.
When you undergo hypnotherapy with a professional like myself, we utilize this natural state to feed your mind with exactly what you want and need: positive affirmations, uplifting messages, and guidance to help you achieve your goals. This is in stark contrast to the passive consumption of potentially harmful content from media. Understanding these aspects of hypnosis can help people appreciate its value and effectiveness as a therapeutic tool. It’s a safe, natural way to bring about profound positive changes in your life.
It usually takes 1-3 hypnotherapy sessions for any one particular issue you’re experiencing. However, during each session with the clarity you gain, you begin to make sense out of many other issues at the same time. I have experienced hypnotherapy myself. I have had approximately 12 sessions over a 3–4-year period. Life is a trillion times better now and has completely transformed since my very 1st session. At this time, I no longer feel that I need sessions as I have acquired very strong techniques, that I share with my clients during our one-on-one sessions, which allow me to better manage my day-to-day living. I am happy, joyful, very optimistic, and at peace in life.
