Break Free From Self-Sabotage and Start Living in You Fullest Potential - Interview with Coloma Muro

Break Free From Self-Sabotage and Start Living in You Fullest Potential - Interview with Coloma Muro

Meet Coloma Muro, an Empowerment Coach blending neuroscience, psychology, and mindfulness. With 12+ years of experience, she guides profound transformations, integrating Inner Child Healing, spiritual wisdom, and immersive retreats. Join MysticMag in exploring her unique approach to holistic well-being.

Can you please introduce yourself to our readers and share a few details about your professional background?

I am an Empowerment Coach with a relentless commitment to guiding individuals towards living beyond self-imposed limitations and conditioning.

My career ranges from working as a Consultant for Non-Governmental Organizations, being a Mindfulness Coach for companies, working as a Conservationist (I hold a Primatology MSc), and as a Therapist and Researcher in several Mental Health institutions.

With over 12 years of experience within the Neuroscience and Psychology fields, I combine my background in research with a holistic integrated trauma-informed approach. I draw from several healing modalities designed to access personal freedom, build confidence, and create health, abundance, and transformation in all areas of life from the inside out.

What can you tell me about the Inner Child Healing aspect of your work?

Tapping into the inner child is one of the most valuable insights of my practice as it allows for restoring vitality and resilience. I use somatic techniques to create space for the suffocated and neglected parts to integrate. Reclaiming our shadow is part of the healing process, as it is only through acceptance of all of our experience that we learn to love ourselves.

I conduct Inner Child Healing from a Bodyfulness approach, offering tools to develop a deeper and more awakened relationship with the body through sensation, breath, and helping my clients understand their nervous system.

I also incorporate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization) and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) among other strategies, to release unprocessed emotions and energy blocks. I also use Mindfulness techniques to reprogram unconscious brain patterns as a reduction of the default mode network connectivity facilitates behavioral change.

In conclusion, Inner Child Healing work is interdependent and is applied together with Neuro-somatic Therapy.

Spiritual wisdom is also a part of your sessions. What is your approach to spiritual wisdom and how does it help your clients?

The mission of my work is for my clients to embody intimacy within. This is, for individuals to earn the sense of self-agency by creating a conscious connection with self. Even though an awakened state of consciousness involves the activation of specific areas of the brain, the idea of “mind” cannot be solely conceptualized through the underlying physiology which it emerges from. Spirituality is part of our human nature, and without connecting with this aspect of ours, we are not considering our whole essence.

Health is integration. In the same way, we must take care of our biological, psychological, and social circles in order for them to cooperate as a team, Spirituality is equally important, as it is our connection with our deepest sense of meaning and purpose. It is scientifically proven that being intentional about how we live (gratitude, abundance mindset, etc) has an impact on our brain’s neurophysiology and on the rest of the body cells. Apart from raising our overall awareness – which improves our capacity to self-regulate in challenging situations – it is essential for optimal wellbeing. How we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us – even to past or future generations – determines the quality of our lives).

What are your retreats like?

My retreats are a balance of time for deep rest, relaxation, and reflection complemented by optional classes in contemplative practice (yoga, meditation, conscious movement), nature immersion, and inward reflection periods. In them, I include Health and Wellness Coaching and Mindfulness practices. The experiences are designed to create harmony and balance within. I teach tools to reduce stress, nurture energy levels, and cultivate self-confidence, trust, fulfillment, and freedom.

They are the perfect immersion for those who are willing to heal the parts of themselves that get in the way of living in their fullest potential, those who want to break free from self-sabotage tendencies and yearn for feeling in alignment with their truth. My retreats are also devoted to guiding attendees to step into their worth and to help them recognize and overcome the resistance that holds them back. The way I tackle all of those is by enhancing the intimacy within and by providing a safe space to reconnect with our desires. Through embodying our most authentic and empowered version of ourselves, we can all contribute to collective healing, which is ultimately my mission.

Can you share a memorable success story?

I have worked with women who hadn’t had the period for years, and after 3 months of working with me, their menstrual cycle returned back into balance.

I’ve also had clients who have come to me after 30+ years of working with different therapists, including hypnotherapists and have done all sorts of inner work. Through my work, they have learned to create change from the inside out and to love themselves fully.

I still receive messages from old clients and employees (when I used to work in corporate) with amazing and beautiful stories about how their lives unfolded after they and I crossed paths.
