Can you share with us your personal philosophy on holistic health and wellness, and how it aligns with Holt Holistic Healing’s mission?
The journey of holistic healing began for me around 30 years ago in California, where I initiated a business venture. Over time, its purpose has evolved significantly. Back then, I was working as a registered nurse (RN) in the ICU as a head nurse. Faced with the introduction of managed care, I reached a point where I felt disillusioned with the system. I refused to subject my staff to menial tasks like counting sponges. Thus, on a whim, I enrolled in massage school, which turned out to be a decision I deeply enjoyed. This educational pursuit broadened my perspective on various aspects that I was previously unaware of. In my view, this marked the beginning of my real education.
Nursing had always been my aspiration, albeit under a different guise. As a child, I would line up my teddy bears, tending to them with makeshift blankets and thermometers, unknowingly practicing what I now recognize as nursing. Upon discovering the claims of alternative healing philosophies, traditional Western medicine lost its appeal to me. I harbored apprehensions toward it, feeling its power was often misused. Physicians, in my opinion, often failed to provide patients with a comprehensive understanding, brushing off potential side effects of medications. This realization further solidified my belief in the significance of holistic approaches.
Becoming a massage therapist captivated me entirely, yet I aimed to approach it differently. With my extensive medical background from ICU nursing, I felt at ease working with individuals dealing with illnesses, unlike many of my peers. While others may have shied away from such cases, I understood the boundaries of my practice. This desire to offer a unique perspective led me to carve out my niche in the field.
Now in my 70s, I’ve retired from massage therapy due to shoulder and thumb injuries, common afflictions that come with age and years of physical exertion. Since relocating to the East Coast, holistic healing has taken on a new form, diverging significantly from its origins. While I’ve retained the name, my approach has evolved drastically.
Throughout this journey, I’ve maintained a thirst for knowledge, continuously expanding my understanding beyond the confines of traditional education. I’ve embraced disciplines that I once dismissed, recognizing their value in restoring balance and nurturing intuition. My aim is to guide others towards a heightened sense of self-awareness, where decisions are made intuitively, with a deep connection to one’s inner being.
What inspired you to pursue a career in holistic health, and how has your journey led you to Holt Holistic Healing?
Because massage therapy started to cause discomfort for me, I began to seek alternatives. Despite receiving massages regularly while practicing massage therapy myself, I noticed that sometimes I felt more sore afterward than before. It wasn’t due to any fault of the therapists, who were highly skilled and thoroughly trained. Rather, I came to the realization that I required a different approach. Energy work appeared to provide the relief I sought. Recognizing its efficacy in alleviating my discomfort, I reasoned that perhaps this was the path I was meant to follow. As it turns out, it has proven beneficial for me.
What type of services do you offer?
As a nurse, I initially learned healing touch, which I still incorporate into my practice. Additionally, I’ve completed a few Reiki courses, although I personally find it doesn’t resonate with me. However, I firmly believe in the power of energy work. Alongside these modalities, I utilize essential oils and practice raindrop therapy. Moreover, I employ the emotion code, as I am convinced that trapped emotions underlie many diseases and ailments. Regardless of the specific approach chosen, I advocate for everyone to experience it at least once or twice.
I hold the belief that maintaining a clean body, through clean eating and fostering a clean environment, is essential. Furthermore, I emphasize the importance of maintaining clean thoughts, as our mental state profoundly influences our well-being and the world around us. To address these aspects, I also incorporate the Silva Method into my practice. Since relocating to the East Coast, my practice has shifted towards more remote work, which can be challenging to convey to clients accustomed to hands-on therapy. Nevertheless, I am confident in the effectiveness of remote energy work.
Despite the differences in environment between the West and East Coasts, I continue to offer Native American shamanic healing and utilize crystals and imagery in my practice. Additionally, I practice biodynamic craniosacral therapy, further expanding my repertoire of healing modalities.
Drawing upon my medical knowledge, I assist clients in navigating their healthcare journey, suggesting specialist consultations when appropriate. Through this integrated approach, I strive to provide comprehensive support to those seeking healing and balance in their lives.
In your opinion, what are the key components of achieving complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and how does Holt Holistic Healing address each of these areas?
In a balanced body and environment, emotions flow freely without being trapped. Emotions play a crucial role and are not inherently negative; there’s no such thing as a bad emotion. Clean eating, clean living, and maintaining clean thoughts contribute to overall well-being and balance. I utilize tools such as BioGeometry to scientifically measure the balance of the body, which has proven highly valuable to me. Upon learning about BioGeometry, I immediately embraced its principles. It’s fascinating and incredibly useful.
Holistic health often involves lifestyle modifications. How do you support patients in making sustainable lifestyle changes to improve their overall well-being?
In my line of work, I no longer refer to individuals as patients; instead, I call them clients due to legal considerations. I no longer hold nursing or massage licenses, but neither are necessary for what I do. I firmly believe that small changes can yield significant results. Therefore, I advise people to proceed slowly, trust their intuition, and follow their own guidance. While I am available to offer guidance using BioGeometry or my medical knowledge, I only provide suggestions and do not prescribe anything.
How do you practice self-care to maintain your own wellbeing?
In Biogeometry, we learn a variety of fascinating techniques that I incorporate into my practice. BioGeometry is a branch of environmental science focused on quality, pioneered by Dr. Ibrahim Karim through 50 years of research in Egypt. He has developed precision tools that are exclusively available from one source due to their specific shape and design. While not a diagnostic or medical treatment tool, each tool is meticulously crafted to detect and address specific aspects of environmental and bodily balance.
These tools are instrumental in balancing not only the environment but also the body, encompassing all planes and subplanes of nature within the subtle energy field. Emotions often become trapped in these planes and subplanes, and when combined with techniques such as the emotion code developed by Bradley Nelson, profound releases can occur. This integrated approach allows for results that were previously unattainable.
I also collaborate with a friend who practices similar methods, allowing us to exchange insights and support each other’s work. While I generally refrain from engaging with conventional doctors, I remain committed to seeking out and collaborating with other energy workers to continuously enhance my practice.
