How did you first discover your abilities as a psychic medium and cartomancer, and what was the pivotal moment that made you decide to share your gift with others?

I suppose it’s sort of how I got started. I don’t think my story is typical of most people you find. I do remember being different growing up. I had dreams and I saw things that were there, but other people couldn’t see. However, I couldn’t really focus on it because I come from an abusive household. I was too busy with what was going on with my mom and my father to focus on any of it. But as I grew older, my brother and sister died 22 months apart, and I was the only one left.

After that, I decided that I was going to get a reading. Now, I come from an extremely Christian background where getting a reading is seen as a sin, but for me, if this is a sin, God’s going to forgive me anyway, kind of thing. I joined a Facebook group and got a reading, and the woman brought through information about my sister that there was no way on Earth she could know. And one of the moderators in the group asked me to stay in the group because she thought that, in her words, I was a very powerful medium. And from there, she would have me look at people’s photos and write out what I saw, and it started being right. So, from there, she was a lady out of Scotland, but she was associated and took classes with the SNUI (Spiritual National Union International) and the Arthur Findlay College. She kind of took me under her wing, and I started development, all kinds of training, to become an evidential medium. I studied tarot with her as well as mediumship, and then as far as sharing my abilities with people, I studied for a really long time before I started sharing.

I was in development for at least 2 1/2 years before I would even call myself a medium. And then one day, someone just came to me, and I was already doing practice readings with people in my community. But my mentor really pushed me, you know, like, this is your time. You’re taking time away from your family. You need to broaden out, kind of thing, especially if this is what you feel you’re supposed to do with your life, and it is, you know, it was. I walked around most of my life feeling like I had a hole inside that couldn’t be filled. And then when mediumship found me, when spirit found me, I’ve never felt that way again.

What techniques or rituals do you employ to ensure you’re in the right mindset and spiritual space to conduct readings effectively?

Again, I don’t know if I’m not like most people or what, but I keep it very, very simple. That’s also the way I was trained: the KISS method, keep it simple, stupid. So I may put on some Blues music or something like that and really raise my vibration. I try to drink at least 20 or 30 ounces of water beforehand. And really, I just sit quietly and ask spirit to come through. That’s what I do; I just sit and get quiet, and then the magic happens, as they say.

What type of services do you offer?

I offer evidential mediumship and psychic readings, including Tarot, Lenormand, and Oracle readings. Sometimes I just stare at the person and do the reading because, again, that’s the way I was trained. I was trained not to use cards, but I fell in love with them through the process. However, it’s dealer’s choice; I choose the modality I use to provide healing and clear-cut answers to my sitters because I never want anyone to leave feeling hollow or confused. Each card system that I use, for me, has a specific  job. So, if the person I am reading for dictates what modality I use it limits the reading. So, I choose what I use during the reading. I also teach evidential mediumship and tarot, and in the tarot classes, I teach how to read any form of cards in general. Additionally, I teach about the boundaries between this world and the spiritual world.

Can you share a challenging moment or reading you’ve encountered in your practice, and how you navigated it to provide comfort and clarity to your client?

Well, and this may seem blunt—I’ve thought about this question ever since you gave it to me, and it may seem a little blunt, but this is the only way I know how to answer it. And please know, I do not mean to be rude. As for sharing an experience with you, no, I can’t, because all of my readings are confidential, and I would never want to break that trust. But I can tell you that every time I sit down in front of someone or someone sits down in front of me, it’s a challenge because people do not come to see me when they are in a good place. So every time someone sits in front of me, I get a front-row ticket to their grief. So how do I mitigate that? I hold space for them. I give them the information that I’m getting, and I give it the way I would want to be read for, with compassion and empathy. So, to an extent, every single reading is a challenge, because every single person leaves a mark on me, and I hope that spirit and myself leave a mark on them as well. But as for sharing a specific experience, I don’t feel comfortable doing that because it would break confidentiality.

In what ways do you believe your background or personal journey has influenced your approach to your work as a psychic medium and cartomancer?

I’m going to try not to cry. Ever since I can remember, at least through my early 20s, every two or three years I have been touched by death in some way. My brother, sister, my uncle, who was like my dad, my grandmother, who was like my mom—all these people passing away one by one. In that, it has really taught me how to be there for people, hold space, and have compassion for what others may be going through in their grief. Those experiences, though we might label them as “bad,” have helped to mold me in a way that hopefully I can explain what happens when we’re going through grief, how it may manifest in our lives through our actions, and what we can do to mitigate the waters of grief. Also, to convey that even though our loved ones aren’t here in the physical, they’re still with us, and we can ask them for help, signs, and teach people how to recognize that they’re still around us—all with compassion, empathy, and really holding space. Because grief makes people uncomfortable, so when someone passes away, you have people offering loads of “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” And what I’ve found in my grief is that even though people mean well, it has made me angry. I don’t mean to be angry about the “I’m sorry,” but it affects me because you’re just so overwhelmed. So it’s not often that you find someone who has learned how to actually hold space and just let you cry or scream or whatever. That’s what I try to bring to people—to be that outlet.

How do you maintain boundaries and self-care while delving into the emotional and spiritual realms of others during your readings?

I’ll be honest with you, I’m not the best at the self-care part. It’s because I believe that it is my life purpose to help people, whether that is with readings or helping a friend going through depression who needs assistance, even with something as simple as brushing her hair because she hasn’t done it in four weeks. So, it’s kind of hard for me to prioritize myself sometimes, as I feel like Spirit often reminds me to slow down. I trust Spirit with everything, but when it comes to establishing boundaries, it may seem silly, but it’s part of my training. I was taught to see spirits as clear people. So, if a regular human were to encroach on my personal space, I would tell them to stop. It’s the same with spirits. If they start encroaching on my boundaries during a reading, I will tell them to go away. If the reading is meant to happen, they usually respect that and leave. I set boundaries in my home; spirits are not allowed in my bedroom, they are not allowed to wake me, or do anything of that sort.
