“The moment you change your perception is the moment you rewrite the chemistry of your body.” – Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D.

MysticMag chats with Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D., an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. A stem cell biologist, bestselling author of “The Biology of Belief,” and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award, Dr. Lipton has been a guest speaker on numerous TV and radio shows and a keynote presenter at national and international conferences. He is known for his groundbreaking research on the cell membrane and how the environment controls cell behavior, leading to the science of epigenetics. Dr. Lipton’s work has transformed not only his scientific understanding but also his personal life, highlighting the mind’s control over bodily functions and implying the existence of an immortal spirit. He now shares his insights through lectures and workshops, inspiring others to improve their spiritual, physical, and mental well-being.

Bruce, what inspired you to create the “Flourishing Through Chaos” online course, and what do you hope participants will gain from it?

I was encouraged to publish “Flourishing Through Chaos” because of the state of the world in which we currently find ourselves. Whether you browse the web, watch the news, or look out your window, there is chaos everywhere. This chaos stems from our civilization being unsustainable. Right now, it takes 1.6 planet Earths to provide the resources for our current way of life, which is causing significant devastation because we only have one Earth. Even NASA scientists predict that within the next 20 years, we face an irreversible collapse of civilization if we continue on this path.

This unsustainable situation doesn’t mean we all have to go downhill with it. We must learn to live in harmony with ourselves and the planet. If we gain the right understanding and knowledge, we can move into the future with grace and joy. Many people feel like victims of a world out of control, but quantum physics, the most validated of all sciences, tells us otherwise. The primary principle of quantum physics is that the mind is the creator of material realities. This means that our minds are creating our world.

In my work with genetics, I’ve found that environment influences our biology through our mind’s perceptions. This finding conforms with quantum physics, which states that our minds create our life experiences. Epigenetics supports this by showing that our minds influence our genetic activity and biological behavior. Knowledge is power, and a lack of knowledge is a lack of power. Many people feel like victims because they are unaware that they are creating their life experiences through their subconscious programming.

Our subconscious minds are programmed from birth until about age seven, and this programming essentially runs our lives without our awareness. During these early years, our brains function predominantly in Theta, a vibrational state akin to hypnosis, where we download behaviors and beliefs from our parents and the surrounding culture. These programs, recorded in our subconscious mind, control our behaviors 95% of the time. Unfortunately, up to 60% of these programs are disempowering, self-sabotaging, and limiting.

People are unaware of this programming because it operates below the level of consciousness. When our conscious minds are busy thinking, our subconscious programs take over, running the behaviors we absorbed in childhood. As a result, we often manifest behaviors and life outcomes that don’t align with our true desires and wishes derived from the creative conscious mind.

By becoming aware of our dysfunctional subconscious programs and rewriting them to match our conscious desires, we can transform our lives. When we align our subconscious programs with our conscious wishes and desires, we can live fully as creators of our own experiences. This understanding can lead to a profound shift, creating a life that feels like heaven on Earth, rather than being victims of chaotic circumstances.

Falling in love is an example of this shift. When we fall in love, we become mindful, living in the present moment and creating from our conscious minds rather than running on subconscious autopilot programs. This state, often referred to as the “honeymoon phase,” shows us the potential of living without the influence of negative subconscious programs.

In summary, understanding that we are creators of our own reality through our minds and subconscious programming is empowering. By gaining this knowledge and actively working to align our subconscious with our conscious desires, we can navigate the chaos of the world and create a life of joy and harmony.

Your work often emphasizes the power of perception in shaping our reality. Can you share a personal or professional experience that illustrates this concept?

I often find myself looking at my experiences in this world and seeing life as a struggle. I really worked hard, thinking that life is inherently difficult. But then I realized that it’s not life that’s hard; it’s my belief system that’s responsible for this perception. If I believe that life is hard, then I manifest experiences that conform to that belief. The mind’s job is to create coherence between our beliefs and our reality.

As physicists recognize, consciousness creates our reality. Biology, specifically epigenetics, shows how beliefs control our genes and behavior. By changing our consciousness, we can change the character of our lives.

How do you see the principles of epigenetics influencing the future of healthcare and wellness practices?

Less than 1% of diseases are connected to genes, so, “Where do all the illness and problems come from?” I realized they are derived from behavioral programs and beliefs. Epigenetics reveals how our conscious and subconscious minds collectively control our genetics. The mind is above the genes, consciousness controls genetic activity. So, to change our life experiences, we just need to change our consciousness.

Right now, most people are just playing the programs they’ve previously downloaded. For example, about 80% of people struggle with the belief “I love myself.” We’ve been so criticized as children, that because of these programs, we become self-critical as adults. This impacts our ability to find love because if we can’t love ourselves, it’s hard for others to love us too.

Another common program, especially for women, is the fear of not being safe. Around 80% of people won’t test positive for “I feel safe,” because we’ve been programmed with various fears. These fears dominate our consciousness, affecting our experiences. But the key point is that our “fear” consciousness determines the character of our life experience. Both physics and biology agree: consciousness creates our reality.

Your book, “The Honeymoon Effect,” discusses creating heaven on earth through loving relationships. How can individuals cultivate this effect in their lives?

Programming is the key. Our lives are essentially a printout of our programs. Things you like and that easily come into your life do so because you have a program that acknowledges those things. However, if we find ourselves working hard and stressing over things we want but don’t have, it’s because the destination we’re seeking isn’t supported by our current programs.

Recognizing this frees us up because we realize we’re not waiting for the world to change; we’re the ones who must change. We can rewrite our programs, but we need to know how. Talking to your subconscious won’t change anything because it’s like talking to a computer’s hard drive, there is no one in there—it’s our actions that count.

To change our subconscious mind, we can use self-hypnosis, repetition (habituation), or energy psychology. Energy psychology focuses on our current limitations and can change dysfunctional beliefs in minutes, which enables us to create a different world experience. I highly recommend exploring these belief-change methods. I’ve changed my life using them and now live in a continuous state of joy and gratitude, which I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Can you elaborate on how the mind-body-spirit connection impacts our overall health and well-being, and what steps individuals can take to achieve balance in these areas?

We used to just talk about spirituality at church, but now our understanding of spirituality has changed. Spirituality is actually an expression of quantum physics. Quantum physics is the only science that recognizes spirit as an energy field that shapes the character of our lives. In physics, the definitions for the field and spirit are the same: invisible, moving forces that influence the physical world. Each of us responds to our own personal energy field that defines who we are. Our bodies are like virtual reality suits that download our unique energy field.

With this understanding we realize that we can’t die; our identity is not in the body. Our bodies are like television sets and our spirit is the broadcast. Each of us has a set of protein receptors, antennas, on our nucleated cells, that download a unique environmental energy (spirit) signal. No two people have the same set of identity receptors (antennas) or download the same energy field. Our bodies are like a television set, and we are watching the “My Show” broadcast picked up by our personal identity receptors.

When a TV breaks, we say the TV is dead, but the broadcast is always there. When we die, our personal energy broadcast (spirit) is still there. A future embryo with the same set of identity receptors will download our personal spiritual field, but in a different TV—male, female, white, brown, black, red, or yellow. Those are characters of the “TV,” we are still the same the broadcast … reincarnation.

Realizing we are the same broadcast reveals we cannot die. With this understanding, we can eliminate our fear of death, which is the greatest fear humans have. From a young age, we’re preoccupied with survival and threats to our lives. But what if you knew you were always here? The threats that once controlled your behavior start to disappear, and you become a free agent, the creator of your life. You can manifest heaven on earth by exercising your creative consciousness. I’ve lived this way for 28 years, waking up every day healthy, happy, and in love with life, even at 80 years old. It’s all about the consciousness that controls the character of our lives. When we step out of the subconscious programs and exercise our creative consciousness, we can create the lives we desire – Heaven-on-Earth.
