Many people are familiar with palmistry or handwriting analysis, but Lipsology is still a hidden gem. What first drew you to this fascinating field, and what was the moment you knew this was your calling?
My closest friend’s ex-husband used to read palms and Tarot with the woman who later became my teacher—Ariana Lightningstorm. She is the first certified teacher of Lipsology in the entire world.
One day, she analyzed a lip print that had been made by a woman involved in raising funds for breast cancer research. Within the woman’s top lip print—representing her outward expression to the world—there was an unmistakable symbol that looked exactly like a breast cancer awareness ribbon.
At that moment, I knew I needed to learn more about this fascinating practice. It took about a month or two for me to start the classes, and from that point on, I was completely hooked. That was back in 2015.
Lip prints can reveal stress levels and energy patterns. Can you share an example of how someone’s lip print helped them gain deeper insight into their emotional or physical well-being?
Absolutely. I have a friend on whom I was practicing lip print analysis, and within her lip print, she had a dark mark in the center of her bottom lip print. That can indicate a hormonal imbalance or even dehydration, as there are several possible causes for such markings.
It turned out that she was in the early stages of ovarian cancer, which she discovered a few weeks later.
Lipsology is based on the present moment rather than predicting the future, which I think is an important distinction. It serves as a snapshot of where a person is emotionally and physically at a given time.
Where I see this going is in tracking changes over time—since lip prints can evolve based on what a person is experiencing emotionally and physically. I think it would be fascinating to follow a few individuals over time to observe those changes.
I’m a therapist during the day, and I can see how this could be a useful tool for people. Having a record of where they are at a given moment could help them track progress and work toward improvements.
What type of services do you offer?
I offer both online and in-person sessions. For both, I provide individual and small group readings, as well as readings for parties, bachelorette parties, wedding showers, and corporate events.
Since Lipsology is both an art and a science, do you rely more on structured analysis, intuition, or a combination of both when interpreting a print?
Lipsology is based on 25 categories and 125 subcategories. I rely more on my knowledge than intuition. Occasionally, I may get a hint or a gut instinct about something and ask the person about it, but most of the time, my readings are based on the established system. Sometimes my intuition is correct, and sometimes it’s not, but the foundation of Lipsology is a combination of both science and art.
As one of the very few Certified Lipsologists, what do you hope to contribute to the field? Do you see Lipsology growing in popularity, and where do you envision it in the future?
I absolutely see Lipsology growing in popularity. As you mentioned, it’s currently a hidden gem, but each of us plays a role in spreading awareness and providing education about it. Since it’s something that often needs to be explained or seen firsthand to be fully understood, we strive to share its insights with others.
