This week we interview Bella Luna, a Spiritual Life Coach, Healer, Mystic, Transformational Facilitator and, as she puts it, a RADICAL Self-Love Advocate. We talked with Bella to know more about her story, if she believes that there’s a lack of self-love out there and much more. Check out this great interview for the MysticMag blog!
You mention self-love many times on your website. Do you believe there’s a lack of self-love in most of the people that look for your services or need help?
It saddens me to say, but absolutely. I meet so many people that have huge hearts, are super talented and compassionate, and want nothing more than to make the world a better place, in whatever way they can.
However, due to low self-worth, self-esteem and self-respect, they simply do not have the right foundation, tools and mindset to take the steps needed to make their dreams happen. Why would you apply for that job, ask that person out, or re-train in the field of your passion, if you think you are unworthy and undeserving of it? You just wouldn’t. Instead, you settle.
You settle for mediocre; you settle for good enough, and just watch life pass you by from this comfortable, safe, risk free, mediocre place, wondering when you’re going to get your Hogwarts letter. Self-love is the key to unlocking all of this power, purpose and potential inside, so you truly believe you are worthy of creating a better life for yourself and those around you. With self-love comes confidence, self-belief, empowerment and worthiness to receive the juiciness that life has to offer.
Discovering your purpose is not always a simple thing. What do you do to help people find theirs?
The first thing I do is to offer a re-frame of the term purpose. To re-frame the mind from believing they have only one singular purpose, and that when they just ‘fall’ into this, magically their whole life will be ‘fixed’. Instead of helping them find their one purpose, I guide them towards living a more purposeful life. Living on purpose means to make more conscious and mindful decisions each step of the way towards improving your life, while remaining aligned with your values and dreams. I also love to encourage people to make the journey as magical as the destination.
The modern world we live in is incredibly goal-oriented, always focused on that next milestone, instead of experiencing the joys along the way. Having one purpose suggests there is a destination where everything will suddenly fall into place and your life will become perfect.
This approach means that you are putting off being happy and enjoying life until you attain this one, likely unattainable and unfulfilling, purpose. Living purposefully gives you the freedom and permission to find happiness, enjoyment, and fulfilment in the everyday, and in the here and now.
What do you see as the most common blocker for people that can’t transform dreams into reality?
In my life and business, I see four clear blocks that prevent people from turning their dreams into reality.
The first is a lack of clarity. If you don’t know what you want and where you are going, how can you begin to head in that direction? Clarity enables you to discern the right choices and steps to take to head towards the path of your dreams.
The second block is procrastination and lack of action. How will you ever improve your life, if you never take any steps towards it? The only way to get from A to B is to start moving!
The third block is the unwillingness to change, try new things and do things differently. I see so many people that want change and different results but aren’t willing to actually change or do anything differently! How can you get different results if you aren’t willing to do different things?
The fourth, and most important block, is a lack of self-love. If you don’t believe in yourself and your worthiness, you will never give yourself permission to actually go after what you want, or you will go after it half-heartedly and sabotage yourself along the way. Overcoming this block will have a knock-on effect with the other three blocks, making it easier to gain clarity, take action and be open to change.
Can you please explain to us how your soul plan readings work?
Soul Plan Readings work by realigning you with your Highest path – the path you set out for yourself before you incarnated into this life. Before you came into this life as the person you are now, you created a plan, a map for your life, to support your Soul’s growth and evolution through this human experience.
First, we uncover the challenges and obstacles that you chose to put in your path so that you could learn certain lessons with the intention of growing through this experience. In order to support you in overcoming these challenges, we reveal the specific talents you gifted yourself with that would support your ‘human’ along this path. We then discover the goals you laid out for yourself in this lifetime.
The challenges and talents you chose will directly support you in achieving these goals. And finally, we explore the essence of your life, your ultimate Destiny and core mission in this lifetime. By heading straight to the underlying and fundamental patterns affecting your life, we can create a deeper understanding and awareness for you to move towards healing these deep wounds, aligning with Destiny and activating your life purpose.
What do you see as your “higher-self” and how important is it to connect with it?
Your Higher Self is the most powerful version of you. Your Soul. The part of you that is pure Divine essence, that knows you are love and light. The part of you that has no fear, guilt, shame, hate, regrets, or judgements. It is the part of you that knows only truth and has all the answers your ‘human’ could possibly need.
Your Higher Self is your best teacher, your best guide, the first authority you should listen to, over and above anything else. Re-connecting with your Highest Self is important as it allows you to strengthen who you are, gives you a sense of belonging and offers access to Divine guidance.
This connection also increases your mental and physical wellbeing, as well as deepening your sense of self-love. The more time and energy you dedicate to strengthening this connection, the happier, more confident and more fulfilled you will be. YOU are your own best teacher.
In your website you tell the story of an abusive relationship and how your revenge was to live your best life ever. What is the first step to live your best life ever?
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – self-love is the key! Honestly, this is the foundation for everything good in life. If you don’t love yourself, even if you have a decent life, you will not appreciate it nor will you allow yourself to receive the goodness life has to offer. Part of loving yourself, and part of my process, was also giving myself space for self-discovery.
After leaving my abusive relationship I didn’t know who I was. I had so many of my choices and freedoms taken away from me that I had forgotten what I liked and didn’t like. It was like starting with a blank slate and I was forced to re-discover myself. This very quickly became a blessing in disguise as it gave me the space and permission to explore all aspects of myself and my world.
What did I like to eat, to wear, to listen to? What did I like to do for fun? Where were my boundaries? What were my hopes dreams, fears, challenges? This process really supported me in building up a true, authentic version of myself and I became a more solid person than I ever thought possible.
Not many people are forced to look at who they are in such an intense way, and so many go a lifetime without making these deep discoveries about themselves. So, to live your best life, it’s crucial for you to discover who you are and learn to love and accept yourself, in all your glory.
