In this feature Psychic Medium, Barbara Standish shares insights in her professional journey and how to get the most out of spiritual guidance.
Could you tell us but your journey and what inspired you to pursue this professionally?
My journey into spirit communication began with the death of my high school sweetheart. His tragic passing caused my heart an unspeakable truth, that I wouldn’t ever talk to him again. I sought out Medium services, and undoubtably learned he was close by. I began communicating to him through word and thought, and did so for two years. One day I heard him speak to me, and wasn’t sure if it was him, but believed it in my heart. A couple of weeks later I heard a friends mother speak to me when I was thinking of her. I quietly tested my abilities, and after 20 positive test readings, I told family and friends I had mediumship abilities. As the skill progressed, I quickly learned I have always been psychic, made a website and started working professionally. This November is my 10 year anniversary working my craft. Mediumship is encased in love from spirit, and psychic readings are for perspective, insight and inspiration. The kind feedback of clients is what keeps me in this field.
What do you find are the more popular aspects that people seek guidance with?
Love and romance are the topics most people want to discuss. Is he/she right for me? Do we have a future together, etc. I will tell you how it will go both ways, and what challenges are in store, but ultimately you will make your own decision. In mediumship, everyone has desire to know there loved one is alive in spirit and that they are with them. In my medium sessions, it is a quick two hors of just that; spirit will show they are alive in spirit and with you now.
What can people do to get the most out of spiritual guidance and healing?
The best way to receive spiritual guidance is to remain open-minded. Going into a session without judgment or expectations will aid in you hearing the information. The information is always for you, whether you hear it or not. I encourage taking notes because of this reason. The information may go over your head if one is anticipating hearing something else. No matter your faith, having the faith itself is the key to spirituality. Within this we are all on the same path.
On a personal level do you have any routines for self care that you follow?
My self care consists of a strong cup of coffee and a hula hoop, not at the same time. I eat clean, get ample rest, talk it out or walk it out, and never lie.
