Can you explain the differences between (Global) Body Code, Emotion Code, and Reiki? How do you integrate these practices into your sessions?

Emotion code is one small, but very important, part of the Body Code. The Emotion Code addresses only emotional imbalances. While Dr. Bradley Nelson (who created the Emotion Code and Body Code) believes that 80% of the imbalances we suffer from are emotional in nature (and may cause many different physical issues), The Body Code covers a wider spectrum of energy healing and makes it possible for us to discover and release many different kinds of imbalances.

The Emotion Code is a piece of the puzzle that makes up The Body Code and is found under Emotional Imbalances in the Energy section of The Body Code. The scope of The Body Code addresses 6 different main types of imbalances:

  1. Energy Imbalances- emotional and/or post-trauma energies, mental and offensive energies, etc.
  2. Circuit or System Imbalances- organs, glands, chakras, disconnections, meridians
  3. Toxin Imbalances- heavy metals, free radicals, EM spectrum, chemicals, microbial
  4. Circuitry Imbalances- organs, glands, chakras, disconnections, meridians
  5. Pathogen Imbalances- parasites, fungal, bacterial, viral, mold
  6. Misalignment Imbalances- bones, nerves, muscles, connective tissue, organs and glands
  7. Nutrition or Lifestyle Imbalances- Ph imbalance, foods, herbs, nutrients, dehydration, magnetic field

The Body Code can help you to find imbalances (whether or not there are symptoms) so you can release them and their potential effects.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” but can just as easily be transmitted ‘distantly’ i.e. you can be on the other side of the world and it still works!  It is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stressed, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “Universal Spirit” and Ki which means “life force energy”.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. The effects of Reiki alone can be very far-reaching. The deep relaxation it inspires and its ability to regenerate cells that are deficient in life-force energy can have powerful effects on the body, mind, and spirit.

What led you to become a practitioner in all three modalities? How do you find that they complement each other in your healing work?

I discovered Reiki many years ago when I was in a lot of pain in my left shoulder and generally very stressed. A practitioner placed her hands on my shoulder. I felt a tremendous warmth flow through my body and a feeling of safety and love that I had not experienced since I was a child and I dissolved into tears. Very soon after I trained to become a Reiki practitioner. I can truly say it was the beginning of my spiritual journey. So many things changed for me once I started giving and receiving reiki. Most of all I learned that there is a Higher Power helping me and I stopped worrying about things so much. Later on, I discovered Body Code and Emotion Code. These modalities felt like the cutting edge of quantum healing and I was immediately drawn to training in them, having worked for many years as a Shiatsu and Reiki practitioner. What I love about the Body Code is that it is very efficient and has the power to go straight to the root of an issue and bring that root to the light to be healed. I use the reiki at the end of my Body Code/Emotion Code sessions to replenish the body with positive vibrations after releasing emotions and imbalances. It helps clients to feel calm and grounded and helps them process their Body Code sessions with ease.

Can you share a specific case where you successfully used Global Body Code, Emotion Code, and Reiki together to address a client’s physical and emotional well-being?

Sometimes the effects of Body Code and Reiki are surprisingly quick, and sometimes people have been holding onto repressed energies for a very long time and they need to go on a deeper and longer journey. An example of a quick result is a client who had broken a bone on the side of her foot during lockdown. She had never been to the hospital and it was causing her a lot of pain to the point that she could barely walk by the end of the day. I worked on the foot for one session and she reported the next time that she was walking absolutely fine again with no pain. I also worked with someone who had been ill for several months with flu-like symptoms and a chest infection. He had one session with me and he pretty much recovered to his normal self. I work a lot too with people who suffer from insomnia, anxiety, and depression. I worked with one client for three sessions and by the end he said that he had so much more energy and motivation to do things, he was sleeping more deeply and he had changed his diet to help himself.

How do you approach assessing and addressing imbalances or trapped emotions in the body using these techniques? Could you describe the process you follow during a typical session?

In a session, I connect first to the client’s subconscious mind. Like a computer, your subconscious mind is capable of storing vast amounts of information.  Everything you’ve ever done in your entire life has been logged in your subconscious mind. Your subconscious is also aware of any trapped emotions that your body may be harboring, and it also knows exactly what effect these trapped emotions are having on your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. All of this and more is locked away in the subconscious mind. Your subconscious is also aware of exactly what your body needs in order to get well. I use muscle testing to communicate with the client’s subconscious mind, asking questions that can be answered with a yes or a no and identifying which imbalances are causing the issue we are working on.

Trapped emotions and other energies are then released with magnetic energy. Just like a magnifying glass intensifies sunlight enough to start a fire, magnets can act as an amplifier for the energy of our intentions to produce a change in the body. The intentions and thoughts we have are energy. Magnets are energy. Your body is energy. Because of this, one can have an effect on the other. We use the Governing Meridian as the entrance point for the amplified intention energy because the Governing Meridian is an energy reservoir that connects directly to all the acupuncture meridians (energy pathways) in the body. By pulling or releasing energy from it, we are affecting the energy throughout the body and the trapped emotion or trapped energy is released. Nearly all my sessions are conducted remotely via Zoom online. This works by me becoming what is called a ‘proxy’ for a client, whereby I can swipe the magnet across my governing meridian and thereby clear the energies from the person I am working on.

In your experience, what are some of the common challenges or misconceptions that clients might have about Global Body Code, Emotion Code, and Reiki? How do you address these concerns during your sessions?

One of the most common misconceptions is that we have to be in the same room for these modalities to work. I think most people are quite surprised that they can feel energy shifting and moving when they are sitting in the comfort of their own home on Zoom with me. The reality is that even if we are not on Zoom together the process still works! The other challenge that sometimes arises is when people with chronic issues want a quick fix. Whilst some things really do seem to heal and improve immediately, there are other conditions that take time and patience, and commitment to the healing journey. I have to explain that chronic conditions have not arisen overnight.  There has most likely been an accumulation of trapped emotions and energies for several years or months and if you have been bottling up traumatic experiences and emotions for many years. then your body is only going to release at a pace that is safe and possible for you to process. Things unfold in layers and it is going to take time. I always say slower is faster and less is more with energy healing. Being committed and taking your time are two important factors for chronic issues.

What kind of self-care practices or ongoing support do you recommend for clients after a session involving these modalities? How can clients continue to benefit from the healing work in their daily lives?

Hydration is really important after energy healing, and keeping your schedule light so that you can listen to your body and rest when needed. The body is recalibrating and reorganizing itself as it comes back to a state of balance and I always encourage taking time to allow this to happen in order to get the most out of an energy-healing session. One way to keep benefiting from the healing work in daily life is to meditate daily, even if it is just for ten minutes in the morning and evening. I teach little meditation tools, especially somatic meditation, at the beginning of each session. Our bodies are so wise and intelligent and I believe the more we can connect with and honor the messages of our bodies, the more our lives will flow and the easier it will be to stay in good health.
