Marko Velimirovic of the MysticMag had the chance to interview Bella, a psychic reader and the owner of Bella International. Bella spoke about her relation with her clients, and had some useful advices for fledgling psychic readers.
What inspired you to start your psychic reading business?
Bella: I’ve always read for people on the side since I was in my early 20s but never ever full time. I worked for charities supporting survivors affected by serious crime (directly and politically) for years. I absolutely loved that work and still work within the criminal justice service as a consultant.
Five years ago everything changed, Saturn (the planet) refocused my attention.
I experienced work bullying for the first time in my life but most importantly my 19 year old son fell out of a third story window breaking his leg, back and arm.
So I quit my director level job to take care of my son. I had no job to go to and no other income and had lost a lot of confidence due to the bullying I had experienced the previous six months before my son’s accident.
I decided to work for myself doing what I only ever did occasionally and in truth secretly. I fully expected that as my son healed I would hop right back into the work I had always done with charities. I was not expecting or predicting ironically to actually do it this full time.
I worked initially on an online app service and within six months I was their top rated consultant with over 4000 positive reviews. As a result customers naturally followed me on social media, particularly my free monthly YouTube horoscopes and I was getting enough traffic to my own website that I didn’t need to work for anyone else anymore.
I also realized that I was called to this – I felt that the difficult year I had had a purpose and I was never meant to go back into my old roles. So I wasn’t inspired to start my business – I was called.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?
Bella: The most common is definitely around people’s relationships with other people, primarily our romantic interests. It makes up around 70% of my work, hence why I specialize in relationship guidance and coaching.
My most popular service is my mini video service as often people don’t need an in-depth reading but rather a quick answer to a pressing current issue. However, I do regularly provide long term coaching where the specific issue requires specific targeted help.
I do get every type of concern – regarding work, personal and spiritual development, family breakdown, social conflicts and general life curveballs. There’s nothing I’ve not heard. Nothing!
Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
Bella: Yes, some can be challenging, but luckily, those are very rare. I like to make a difference and there are occasional times when I’m unsure I did make a difference.
It’s never easy to give guidance that is not in line with the expectation or hopes of the customer. People can energetically project their desires and it takes focus practice to read through to the truth and not what someone wants to hear.
It can also be hard to work for the best interest of a few clients where them seeking guidance has developed into something addictive for them. Placing boundaries will feel like I’m rejecting them and that can feel difficult with customers that are unwilling to accept reduced/limited or paused services.
I or spirit never want to disempower anyone and I aim to always develop relationships with my customers where I can be frank about all things which include any growing unhealthy dependence on me.
Some of the psychic sessions are still performed in person. What about you? How has your work been affected by the pandemic?
Bella: I don’t work in person with my customers primarily because 90% of my clients live in other countries. My services are all online including direct calls with me where appropriate and I have different levels of services (www.bella.international) that are as accessible as possible to everyone.
During the pandemic I have been incredibly busier which has meant that for the time being some of my social media presence has been reduced due to needing to prioritize workload and present needs. I love connecting to people and once things improve with this pandemic, I can’t wait to reconnect with my followers more who I’m sadly neglecting at the moment.
I’m not immune from this pandemic and I’ve found it incredibly rewarding to be able to offer continued support during these difficult times; to help others discover why energies are playing an important role with us all individually and collectively.
What advice would you give to a fledgling psychic reader? Is it better for them to work independently or as a part of a team?
Bella: So I think it’s absolutely a good idea for a new reader to find the right work environment that works best for their personality and lifestyle. Working within a team can be very confident building particularly if you’re newly starting in this business. You can discover the good and the bad in what works for you whilst being thoroughly supported. The downside can be that some services (not all) will pay readers incredible poorly and can teach very unethical practices. Never feel pressured to go in an uncomfortable direction if you happen to work for such companies, as there are plenty of reputable companies you can thrive in.
50% of my customers are others who work in holistic services, all with differing levels of experience. I offer several online courses, direct coaching sessions, supervision and business development group support to those looking to expand into working independently.
Working independently is very rewarding and once you’ve found your wings – fly! You can do it. I did it and so can you!
What is the most important detail in maintaining a relationship of mutual trust with customers?
Bella: Authenticity, genuineness and the blunt truth which is all given by me with absolute care. I’m really clear about what I offer in my service and what I can’t offer and how I work with energy to help offer guidance and ensure my clients are empowered to make the best choices for their future. If a customer is clear about expectation it fosters better know, like and trust. I’m proud to say that 99% of my clients are regular repeat users of my services and I’m really honored that they trust me with helping them through important decisions. I never up-sell, never bombard with spam marketing emails, I never prey on people’s vulnerabilities or promise hokey pokey magical solutions, and I genuinely care about the concerns raised in each reading. I’m stupidly optimistic and I love rubbing off my optimism on other people.
