This week, we had the pleasure of interviewing Anne Bayford – a Psychic Medium, Cognitive Hypnotherapist, Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner (NLP), Intuitive Therapist, and Transformational Life Coach. We talked about the origin of her extraordinary gifts, and shed some light on the challenges of being a Psychic Medium.
When did you first know that being a Psychic Medium was your calling and how did it come about?
If I think back to when I was a child, I was always seeing and hearing things that were going to happen. I had an understanding of when someone was going to pass over and I could hear animals communicating with me. But, as I was growing up, it was seen as a bad thing to tell people – so I blocked it out. Later on in life, I had an accident. I got knocked down by a van and I died for about six or seven minutes. I had an out-of-body experience where I could see my body laying on the road. I speak about this a lot on my YouTube because, for me, it was the beginning of when I realized that there was something more to life than what we can see. I would say this was my moment of awakening.
I started studying at the College of Psychic Studies in London to find out more information about what happens to us when we die. It was my attempt at trying to make sense of my own near-death experience. While I was there, I realized that I was very good at sitting with individuals and seeing what was going on with their lives, what has been happening through their lifetime, and what was going to come for them.
Psychically I was tuned in naturally, and I started becoming more aware mediumistically of loved ones around them. I continued studying and training more to see if I could better deliver answers to any questions they had. About four years ago, there was a big change for me. I began doing readings to help my friends and they then started referring me to their friends. That’s how I became known as a Psychic Medium.
I started consulting at the College of Psychic Studies and now I have my own professional private practice, run training programs and retreats, as well as remain a part-time Consultant at the College.
What is the most common type of reading that people are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?
As an Intuitive Therapist and Transformational Life Coach, people tend to come to me when they have some sort of difficulty or blockage in their life, or they are trying to figure out what their purpose is.
They come to me to look at what’s going on in their life, ask questions about whether someone is the right partner for them, or if they’re in the right job.
As a Psychic Medium, people come to me to check in on their loved ones. They want to make sure they have passed over, and to stay connected to whomever it is they have on the other side.
Are some types of Psychic Readings more demanding or difficult than others?
I have done a lot of work with police and other governmental bodies in finding people or working on murder cases. Some of those cases can be very difficult. In one particular case, I had a lady that wanted to contact her brother on the other side.
He came forward and was communicating with me, but he did not want to answer her questions. When I looked into it more, she had been quite physically abusive towards her brother in the past, and sometimes where there has been a disconnection in their human life, you have spirits on the other side that do not want to come forward and help the client.
In some suicide cases, it is very emotionally painful to be in the middle of that. I am a Physical Trance-Medium so I can feel how an individual has passed over.
How has your work been affected by the pandemic?
I have been fortunate in a sense that I have a global following, I have a lot of clients throughout the whole world. Some people used to fly into England to see me, but now they can just see me on Zoom.
It has opened up the possibilities of working anywhere in the world. I have traveled to a couple of countries during the pandemic to work with clients from Gibraltar, France, and Spain.
The pandemic hasn’t hindered me in any way – it has in fact allowed me to run more of my workshops and one-on-one sessions online. It has opened the world even further for me.
What is the most important detail of maintaining the relationship of mutual trust with clients?
For me, it’s important to be very honest with individuals who sit in with me. From the very beginning, I tell them to not give me any information because I would like to prove to them that I have the information for them. If you are a good Psychic Medium, you will have the information and will be able to give that to your client.
Once we have established that link, then I would ask them about what area of life would they like me to look at. Sometimes we don’t even get to that because I have already covered it all before they had the chance to say anything. My clients work with me again and again because I have built trust with them by being perfectly honest and accurate.
What do you love most about your profession?
It’s life-changing in the sense that I can help my clients feel fulfilled, move on and move forward, and gain clarity on their experiences in life. For me, I just love the fact that I can shine a light on whatever has happened with those individuals so that they can take a step forward to move in any direction they want to. It gives them great comfort, and it gives me comfort knowing that I helped.
