This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Alison Kynaston Jones – a clairaudient medium who gave us a deeper insight into her work, readings, and communication with Spirit.
When did you first know that being a psychic medium was your calling and how did it come about?
I have been clairaudient since the age of 12 (that means that I hear Spirit). I heard the voice of my maternal grandfather asking me to look after my grandmother. He had died the previous year.
Strangely enough, it was his mother, my Great grandmother whom I got my gift from as she too was psychic.
When I was 15, I went to a psychic tarot card reader in London who told me that I was going to work as a psychic intuitive and Medium in later life.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?
My readings use a combination of mediumistic and intuitive skills, and I read for clients all over the world. I normally explain that it will be a general reading covering 12 months, and that 98% of the time the questions that they want answered will come through.
I prefer not to know anything about the reason for their wanting a reading as it is much more authentic for me to “read blind” and give them the answers without knowing the question.
Usually my clients are interested in relationships, career, personal challenges and family issues.
Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
I always feel totally energized when working. I am the conduit – I receive the information from my Guides and simply pass it on to my clients.
It’s the clients who can be challenging if they’re not 100% on board with the process; sometimes they can block the information.
There has to be a good trusting rapport – I always say that it’s not my job to persuade, convince or cajole someone to believe in psychic awareness and Spirit communication.
Was there anything that you felt you needed to do to deepen or develop your psychic abilities?
Living in London in the 70’s and 80’s I was lucky enough to train with some of the best Mediums of the day.
For many years I attended classes at the Spiritualist Association of Great Britain in Belgrave Square (SAGB), The College of Psychic Studies in South Kensington, London and The Arthur Findlay College in Stansted UK
You never stop learning. I feel very lucky to have been taught by some amazing Mediums.
Should you see something bad in someone’s future, how do you go about dealing with that situation?
I work for the greater good. I would not hear or see anything bad about someone. The worst might be a suggestion to go and get a health matter checked out.
What do you love most about your profession?
I absolutely love working for Spirit. I take my job very seriously, but my readings are fun and informative.
When I gave up my career 15 years ago, Spirit promised me that they would work with me going forward, and provide. They have never let me down.
Even now having read for thousands of people over the years, I am never ceased to be amazed at how clever they are in giving information, that is simply impossible for me to know any other way.
What do you hope people take away from working with you?
On a psychic level – that our lives are mapped out for us. That they can live their best lives in spite of the temporary circumstances that they might find themselves in. Together with confidence that everything is transient and to have inspiration to look to the future with boldness.
On a Mediumistic level – absolute knowledge that the soul survives, that our loved ones are close by, and that we will all be reunited.
