In the latest edition of MysticMag interviews, Kathy Marie Austin shares how her lifelong connection to the Moon and natural rhythms led her to discover the transformative power of Astrology. She discusses her journey as an Intuitive Astrologer and Archangel Facilitator, revealing how she blends astrological insights with intuition to guide others on their spiritual path.
How did you get into Astrology and what sparked your interest in it?
I’ve always been drawn to the natural rhythms of life, and from a young age, I began noticing how the Moon’s cycles seemed to affect not only my own moods and experiences but also those of the people around me. At the time, I didn’t realize how deeply connected these shifts were to Astrology. As I grew older and began exploring spiritual practices, I noticed that my ability to manifest what I desired was often aligned with the Moon energies. I later discovered that Jupiter, the planet of expansion, resides in my 1st house of self, blessing me with fortune and luck. This realization showed me that when I believed in the possibility of something, it would manifest with ease. Astrology has since become a powerful tool, helping me understand not just the universe’s influence, but also my own role in co-creating my life.
One vivid moment that deepened my understanding of this was a Sunday morning when my children and I were on our way to church. My car ran out of gas in an area with almost no traffic, and this was before the days of cell phones. With two babies and an 8-year-old in the car, I felt completely helpless. Just when I thought there was no hope, a sweet couple appeared out of nowhere, offering help. They returned minutes later with a gas can, and we made it to church on time. That experience left me amazed at how the Universe seemed to send exactly what I needed at just the right moment, reinforcing my belief that we are supported by unseen forces.
Raising three boys on my own was the hardest job I’ve ever had, and it’s through hard work, faith, and a power greater than myself that I’ve made it through. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to learn from spiritual healers, astrologers, and life coaches, all of whom helped me find my center. Through these experiences, I realized that the Universe always has my back, that Angels are always available when I ask, and that my faith is unshakable. One of the most transformative tools in my life has been Astrology, as it has helped me gain a deeper understanding of my journey, guiding me to make the right choices and stay aligned with my life purpose. It has shown me that when we work in harmony with the universe, all things are possible, and now I use this wisdom to help guide others toward becoming the best version of themselves.
What does it mean to be an Intuitive Astrologer and how much is it different from “regular” astrologers?
As an Intuitive Astrologer, I follow the same foundational principles and scientific process as any traditional astrologer, analyzing planetary placements, aspects, and transits to provide insight. However, what sets my practice apart is the intuitive guidance I bring into each reading. I’ve been gifted with a strong intuitive sense that allows me to tune into the subtle energies present in someone’s chart. This deeper connection enables me to uncover layers of meaning that may not always be visible through the astrological framework alone. It’s about blending analytical knowledge with intuitive insight, allowing me to offer a more personalized and spiritually attuned interpretation of a chart.
One of the most fascinating aspects of astrology is that everyone on earth comes into this world with a purpose. This purpose can be found in our North Node, while the South Node represents where we are most comfortable. The goal is to challenge ourselves to step out of our comfort zones and move toward our true purpose. In my own journey, my South Node is in Virgo, which connects to the analytical part of astrology, while my North Node is in Pisces, guiding me toward spirituality and intuition. This personal alignment has shaped my practice and deepened my understanding of astrology’s transformative power.
Can you walk me through one of your Astrology readings?
When a client approaches me for an Astrology Chart reading, the first step is to gather essential information—date of birth, specific time, and place of birth. I use this data to generate a detailed birth chart, which reveals the placement of the zodiac signs, houses, planets, and aspects at the exact moment they were born. From there, I spend several hours carefully interpreting the chart and analyzing the intricate relationships between these placements. I also tap into my intuition throughout the process, allowing me to gain deeper insights and offer guidance that goes beyond the technical aspects of astrology.
You are also an Archangel Facilitator. What can you tell me about that part of your work?
Years ago, I was guided by spirit to take Courtney Fae Long’s Certified Archangel Activation Facilitator program. At the time, I wasn’t entirely sure why spirit was leading me in this direction, as Astrology had always been my main passion. However, I’ve learned that following my North Node and trusting spirit’s guidance is always in my best interest. Little did I know that a few years after completing the course, I would cross paths with Tammy Gamster, who had also completed Courtney’s Angel course. Together, we recognized the magical synergy between our experiences and partnered to create ‘Angels & Astrology,’ blending celestial wisdom with angelic guidance, which inspired us to design our own Oracle Card deck.

What is your favorite part of your profession?
My favorite part of my profession is the opportunity to combine both intuition and astrology to help people uncover their life’s purpose and navigate their journey. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see how Astrology can provide clarity, not only by revealing someone’s potential through planetary placements and aspects but also by helping them make empowered choices that align with their true path. I particularly love working with the North and South Nodes, as they show where we’re most comfortable and where we’re meant to grow. Watching someone step out of their comfort zone and into their purpose, with guidance from the stars and my intuitive insights, is truly magical. Every reading is a unique experience, and it’s rewarding to help others understand that the Universe is always supporting them on their journey.
