In today’s interview, we delve into the journey of Hannah Jewel, a Reiki healer who found their calling through a unique blend of dance and energy healing. They’ll share how this transformative experience led to a profound understanding of the body and the powerful role Reiki plays in emotional and physical healing. We’ll explore their services, including in-person sessions and training programs, and hear their insights on what it means to guide others on their healing journeys. Whether you’re curious about Reiki or seeking inspiration, this interview offers a rich perspective on the path of healing.
When did you first know that being a Reiki Healer was your calling and how did it come about?
My path to healing began with the body, with a deep need to discover the felt sense of my body and integrate the experience of the body into my life. In discovering the body through dance and performance, I was introduced to energy healing. For me, energy healing has the capacity to move the emotional and memory layers of the body through on a very powerful level. This movement feels like a cleanse and a release, and it opens space for something new and more beautiful to emerge. Reiki was part of that cleansing, and is also part of the emerging beauty.
The Reiki Ray has the capacity to move wherever it is needed, releasing what is stored there. As this release happens, more Reiki can flow in, bringing light, beauty and health to the tissues. Of course, this beauty expresses not only in the tissues but in the emotions and the mental fields as well. We find that our perception of life becomes more colourful and balanced.
As I experienced this healing I knew the path of energy medicine was calling me to study at depth levels and to serve. This was in the late 1990’s and is when I embarked on my initial period of studies. Reiki is a foundational part of my path of service.
What services do you offer?
I offer in person healing sessions with Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy and Polarity Therapy combined. These sessions bring forth a sense of safety in the body and balance the nervous system. They also also for great cleansing and restoration.
I also offer training in these modalities, plus shamanism, in my Energy Healing Programmes. Students study with me from anywhere to an intensive four days, which is my shortest programme, to a full two years of depth training.
When it is useful, I offer mentorship online. This is wonderful for doing a portion of the work, but eventually most people will come to see me in person as well.
Could you tell us more about your Reiki Training sessions?
Many people have experienced Reiki in some form or another. Either they’ve had a session or done an initial level of training. Sometimes they have studied in person and sometimes online.
All of my students receive Reiki I, II and III – whether or not they have received Reiki attunements before. In order to bring about the most powerful transmission of the Reiki Ray, I offer an intensive programme with ongoing mentorship following on. Over four days we move through a detailed history including many fabulous stories passed down from my own teachers, as well as strong work in applying the principles to our thinking and our lives.
We receive attunement to one symbol at a time, so that we fully feel its essence. And we give and receive practice sessions within the group. Ongoing support allows us to deepen our experience, and to provide continuing feedback to those students who wish to set up a practice and serve.
What does it mean to be a Polarity Therapist?
A Polarity Therapist is someone who has studied Polarity Therapy to an advanced level, with either 300 or 600 hours of training at a minimum. My own students receive 680 hours of instruction plus clinical experience. A Polarity Therapist will know how to work with energy as well as the physical elements, the bones, muscles and fluid systems. A practitioner of Polarity Therapy is committed to facilitating a full range of holistic health in their clients.
They will ask their clients to take responsibility for their diet, physical exercise, thoughts and emotions. In this way the Polarity Therapist is an educator as well as a healer. It goes without saying that a Polarity Therapist is trauma informed and in fact, they address trauma at specific and profound levels.
What can a person expect from your sessions?
My sessions open with an initial chat and check in. Together we come to understand what is coming up for the person in the moment as well as the backstory, as much as is possible in that time and space. After this we work on the massage table. The client remains fully clothed while I hold different bony points or connect different areas of the body with a light touch of the hands. Over a series of sessions we might address different layers of physical, emotional and embodied experience.
Cleansing, rest and recovery are the initial outcomes – and as our work deepens an expansion of the soul and our soul gifts begin to emerge. At the close of each session we observe the posture and balance. We check in again to share any significant realisations. We share a glass of water and when the client is ready, they walk into the outer world again.
What do you love most about your profession?
What I love most about the work I do is the way it expands the possibilities for life. Not a single person comes to work with me who does not experience a change in the way their life looks, feels or functions for them. It is this merging or integration of the soul into the lived experience which is so powerfully exciting to witness and be a part of!
