In today’s fast-paced world, many people are seeking holistic approaches to improve their physical and mental health. Yoga offers a comprehensive practice that can help cultivate balance, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.
Today, Mystic Mag had the chance to interview Katie Doyle, and we talked about her journey to becoming a yoga instructor, the services she offers, and her unique approach to integrating physical and spiritual aspects of yoga.
When did you first know that Yoga was your calling and how did it come about?
I had been a dedicated yoga student for over a decade when my father was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. It was after watching his battle with cancer and ultimately his death that inspired me to take the leap into launching my wellness business, life is too short to play small and to not follow your dreams. It was shortly after my father’s death that I signed up for my 200 hour yoga teacher training and planned to launch my business Bloom Burst.
What services do you offer?
I take a multi-modality approach within my business to offer my clients impactful and powerful sessions and programs. I am a 500-hour certified yoga instructor, a meditation instructor, sound healing facilitator, Reiki instructor, holistic wellness coach and a mindful nature guide
How do you integrate physical and spiritual aspects of yoga?
Yoga means to “yoke” to “join together.” I deeply respect Yoga’s ancient roots, and I have spent a lot of time learning about Yogic traditions and studying yogic texts such as the Yoga Sutras. Yoga was created to quiet the mind through breathwork and moving meditation and as a teacher I approach every class I teach with the goal of facilitating a mindful movement practice, I use the breath to help my students drop out of their head and into their bodies so that they can have a fully present embodied practice. Also, as a teacher I incorporate the 8 limbed path of yoga to help students learn more about the practice from the spiritual side and not just view yoga as merely a movement practice.
How do you tailor yoga instruction to individual student goals?
I work closely with my individual clients to make sure that their yoga classes meet their unique goals and body. Everyone is different and every body is different so there is no one-size-fits-all experience. I offer pre-session connection calls to assess their level of Yoga experience, explore any injuries and outline their goals. As we deepen our yoga journey together I also shift and change each session so that the student feels supported, challenged and inspired.
What holistic practices complement your yoga teaching?
My signature healing session is a 90-minute experience that combines Yoga, Sound Healing and Reiki. This holistic experience is a powerful way to release stagnant energy and tap deeply into your intuition.
What do you love most about your profession?
I have a passion for helping my clients live their healthiest and happiest lives through accessible and affordable lifestyle changes. The multi-modality approach that I take as a wellness coach and Yoga instructor is effective to help my clients push past their limitations and form new habits that nourish their mind, body and soul so that they are not just living but they are thriving! I love that I get to offer my unique skill set to help others and to open their eyes to how beautiful life can be.
