Can you share your ‘spiritual awakening’ and how it transformed your life and worldview?
I was completely lost in 1998, in my mid forties, money was tight, I was finding life pointless and started entertaining suicidal thoughts. A key decision I made at that time was to undergo counselling that continued for a few months, so at least I was then beginning to wake up in the morning with an interest to explore what the day ahead might hold. It was following this point that I had a reiki healing session, even though I had no particular spiritual awareness, yet it interested me and sparked my curiosity. Then I put myself forward for a reiki attunement which turned my world upside down.
Following the attunement I began to see the most beautiful images, with the most wonderful colours of energies, beings and shapes. This would occur whenever I shut my eyes. I felt a strong yet gentle tingling all around and through my body, to the extent that I would sometimes use a towel to wipe myself off. As this continued for several weeks I realised that my earlier sceptical view of myself and the world around me was simply distorted or that I was going quite mad, yet it felt so good. This changed my life.
How does regression therapy work and why it is effective for healing various psychological and emotional issues?
As souls we take on a range of human incarnations through which we can gain experiential learning and thus grow. However during our journey some of those experiences in childhood or in our past lives may remain unresolved presenting problematic and painful experiences for us now. This is where regression therapy can make a difference as it goes deep within a person to get to the root of an issue that may affect us now. Trauma from a past life or childhood can register within our mental field, emotional field and at a physical level, so addressing each of those levels to release the patterns of the trauma can make a difference to how that person experiences their lives in the present.
As an example, imagine a person being stabbed in the back in a mediaeval past life. Imagine the sense of outrage at realising what has happened, yet being unable to react to it in that final moment of life. Traces of that outrage can be picked up again when born into a new life and stimulated at various points in this new journey, perhaps whilst in the womb, in early childhood, in older childhood, in adult life. Each of the events that stimulate this energy manifest as triggers that connect with the unresolved ‘outrage’. By the time the person is a mature adult they may experience anger issues, or perhaps even a sense of distrust or resentment without understanding why. By going back into the experience and addressing the ‘outrage’ therapeutically, this core energy can be healed. The core charge that feeds the issue can thus be discharged. The client becomes able to move on more effectively without reacting in the same way.
Can you describe what spirit release therapy involves and how it can benefit someone’s mental and emotional well-being?
When a person passes away their soul is in a position where they can continue on to a higher vibration and on with their soul journey, which would usually include incarnating into a new human physical life. However this does not always happen and sometimes a soul becomes stuck or ‘earthbound’, apparently unable to move on. In those cases the spirit may be drawn to a living person or a place, often as a form of refuge yet creating difficulties for the living person. In such a case this usually results in an unhealthy influence on that persons thoughts and feelings, often making that connection through a persons particular vulnerability.
For example if a person has thoughts about themselves such as ‘I am not good enough’, then spirits that also share those feelings may be attracted to that person. On the other hand perhaps mischievous spirits can be attracted to exploit a person with those feelings. Sometimes relatively benign spirits may be ancestors in the family line, hanging around and feeling unable to move on, perhaps holding concerns for the person or family left behind, wanting to help yet unable to, from their position within the lower astral plane. There are techniques to engage with any foreign beings or unhealthy energy to release them to the light or the place in the universe where they belong, so they can move forward on their own soul journey. This is done with compassion for each being. Invariably this will leave a living person with a lighter, clearer energy and outlook, free to move on with their lives.
I currently offer ‘Multi-dimensional healing’ which will include spirit release. In this approach a facilitator, a channel and a spirit guide work together in service to the higher self of the client. The spirit guide will do the body of the work in releasing earthbound spirits, usually also supported by a host of light beings. This approach also offers a ‘soul level perspective’ from the spirit guide on the challenges that the client may face. It will include checking and resolving any malevolent energy present with a person and their home, such as magic, spells or curses. In this sense the facilitator, the channel and the spirit guide form a spiritual housekeeping team, tidying away, cleaning up and putting things back in order. This always occurs with the permission of the higher self of the client and with the intention of serving them, leaving them free to move on. All of this can be done without the attendance of the client, (just the permission) thus the approach is available to any person in the world. It is followed up with an offer to talk through the session and consider what the client might do to move forward.
In your view, how do the experiences we choose in our lifetimes contribute to our soul’s growth and maturity?
As souls we choose experiences in the physical world that offer us opportunities to grow. In taking on difficult challenges the potential growth can be stronger. One analogy is to imagine a cyclist that trains only in flat lands such as Netherlands and thus has the potential limited by that type of training. A cyclist that also trains in mountainous areas such as Switzerland can develop their muscular system to build extra strength that just does not occur on flat lands.
A person growing up in an environment where ‘owning their power’ is discouraged by powerful people around them may submit to that way of being. At some point in their life that person may see through that unhealthy belief and may then choose to own and use their power during the rest of that lifetime. This is growth. A person that is born into or acquires a position of power, may address how to use that power. For example that person may use their power in a way to further increase their personal power and misuse or abuse others in that process. On the other hand that person may use their power to inspire or enable others to own and develop their own power. Once again, this is growth.
As humans we often take on tough challenges yet we have free will and often mess up, sometimes compounding the challenges through avoiding them with drink, drugs or other distractions. Even so we can always have another go, even if it takes another incarnation. Once more, as far as the soul is concerned, this ultimately results in growth.
How can individuals align themselves with these higher vibrations and contribute positively to the collective energy of humanity?
As a first step listen to our feelings. It is important for us to be honest with ourselves and own our feelings, especially when we disapprove of them, as this creates energetic blockages within us that often hide beyond our awareness. Find healthy outlets for those feelings so that they are not repressed within us, thus lowering our vibration. For example, processing angry emotions through hitting a punchbag.may work for one person, Consciously deep breathing the heavy emotions out to be carried away in an imaginary balloon, can work for another person. We can be creative in how we process them. Trust our creativity.
We can take responsibility for ourselves, yet let go of any tendencies to judge ourselves, as this will invariably hold us back.. We are all a work in progress. These are clues to invite us to become more at one with ourselves, thus contributing positively to the collective energy of humanity.. Here are a few more simple ideas:
Do things we love
Be in nature when we can
Be happy
Be kind, even when others are not kind
Forgive ourselves and forgive others
Dance around our home
Meditate
Breathwork. Deep breathing exercises
Trust ourselves, trust our intuition
Connect with others that we feel drawn to
At any point in our journey, we can set our own intention to offer loving supportive energy to the planet, the people we know and don’t know, the war zones, or wherever we feel most drawn to offer that. This can happen simply with our thoughts, in meditations or even more effectively in group meditations.
We can be open to our own experience. Enjoy what we do!
