Unlocking the Wisdom of Immortality with Joseph J. Dewey

Unlocking the Wisdom of Immortality with Joseph J. Dewey

In the quiet corners of Boise, Idaho, amidst the serene landscapes of the Gem State, resides a man whose words hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of immortality. Joseph J. Dewey, affectionately known as JJ, has woven a tapestry of wisdom through his acclaimed “Immortal” series, captivating readers with tales that transcend time and space. Having spent the better part of his life nestled in the heart of Idaho, JJ’s journey from childhood to authorship has been one of introspection and enlightenment. With his beloved wife by his side, he has not only nurtured a thriving business but has also delved deep into the realms of spirituality and metaphysics, sharing his insights through lectures and the written word. Best known for his groundbreaking series, “The Immortal,” which debuted in 1998 with Books 1 & 2, JJ has continued to enrich the literary landscape with subsequent volumes like “The Lost Key of the Buddha” and “Eternal Words.” Yet, beyond these celebrated works, he has penned a plethora of books, each a beacon of enlightenment for those seeking deeper truths. Join Mystic Mag as we embark on a journey through the realms of immortality and beyond, guided by the profound insights of Joseph J. Dewey.

What inspired you to delve into writing the “Immortal” series, and how has your background in Idaho influenced your creative process?

I have been interested in alternative spiritual ideas and metaphysics my entire life and had already done some group work and written several books before the Immortal, but at that time I hadn’t done much for about ten years, as my business kept me pretty busy.  Throughout my life I have had a number of unique spiritual experiences, but hadn’t written about them and it occurred to me that placing them in a book mixed with some fictional material to make an interesting story could make a much more interesting story than just relating details of my life.

So I decided to write The Immortal that contains both fact and fiction, but not tell the reader what was what. I figured this would create a good mystery to keep the reader’s attention. Meanwhile, in the book itself I would present teachings that I sincerely believe to be true, but the fictionalized account would make their presentation more interesting than a dry factual presentation.

And indeed, readers do really wonder what is true and what is fiction. In the first book the two things they want to know most is whether my visits with John the Beloved really happened and secondly, did I really run through the streets of Boise naked in an attempt to save my wife?

Since The Immortal is about me and I live in Idaho then I use my home state and city as the location of the events in the story. As far as what stimulates the creative process with me it is not so much where I live, but what goes in my mind and significant events in my life.

That said, Idaho is a beautiful state with numerous mountains, forests and lakes to visit. One of the greatest writers, Ernest Hemingway lived in the Sun Valley area and seemed to gather inspiration from the surroundings.

Could you share a bit about the themes and messages you explore in your books, particularly in “The Immortal” series?

My most popular book so far is The Immortal Series which presents numerous thought provoking teachings which I believe to be  true, but in the form of a fictionalized story that is based on many true events in my life.

It is about a guy who meets an immortal and is given the opportunity to learn the Twelve Keys of Knowledge.

The first Key is presented in the first two books published as one volume. The title is “The Immortal.”

The second Key is presented in the third book called “The Lost Key of the Buddha.”  Then the third Key is present in Book Four, “Eternal Words.”

The Fourth Key is presented in a non fiction format. It is called “The Unveiling” and gives the Key to understanding the Book of Revelation. The true meaning is not about the end of the world, but about the path of the disciple.

The other keys are found in the thousands of articles I have posted online.

Other books I have written and are on Amazon include:

The Molecular Relationship. Many of my readers think this is my most important book as it presents the keys of the next step in spiritual evolution to be taken by humankind.

“The Gathering of Lights.” This presents the importance of the gathering together of like-minded spiritual people who will create cities of light in the future.

“The Gods of the Bible” The prime word for God in the Bible, “Elohim” is actually plural and not only is our Creator called God, but also men upon the earth and this book proves it from the Bible itself.

“Eternal Lives” The teaching of reincarnation is examined and proven from the scriptures as well as science and common sense.

“The Mysteries of A Course in Miracles” There have been many books written about this already but most of them just tell you how to improve at doing the course. Instead of this I have focused on revealing the more esoteric and mysterious teachings that are overlooked by most teachers.

“Fixing America” This is much different than any other book I have written.  I take the problems of this country and present solutions that can be embraced by both political parties.

The most important one is an idea presented that will cause our elected representatives to truly vote for the will of the people instead of going with the power brokers.

“The Seeker’s Guide to Soul Contact” This is my most recent published book and contains 365 lessons that will bring the seeker closer to his own soul or higher self. The ultimate goal is to be one with the higher self.

In addition I have a dozen or so books not on  Amazon that I plan on publishing there soon.

The “Keys of Knowledge” series seems comprehensive. What motivated you to delve into such a wide range of topics, and how do they connect to your overall body of work?

I have always been interested in a wide range of subjects and along the path of life I have received many insights that I have not seen clearly presented by any other author so I feel the need to fill the vacuum.

As an author and lecturer, how do you engage with your audience, and what do you enjoy most about sharing your knowledge and insights with others?

I am probably as accessible as any author you will find. Since 1998 I have managed an online group called “The Keys of Knowledge” which is on Facebook at the present time.  Over the years I have received and answered about every question you can imagine and I am presently going through the archives and editing them into good readable material that focuses on spiritual teachings. As of this writing I am up to article number 1490 dated Jan 7, 2009. So, I have a ways to go to finish the project.

You can find these writings here: https://freeread.com/index-for-updated-archives/

Through The Keys of Knowledge Facebook group I still make myself available for comments and questions.  I like interacting with my readers and it is not only a help to them, but often stimulates my creative mind.

In addition to the Keys of Knowledge group I have a private group of dedicated students who are interested in creating the Molecular Relationship as taught in my book. I meet with them regularly on Zoom.

What I enjoy about sharing is when I receive comments of appreciation, and especially when someone tells me that something I wrote changed their life.

Those who are interested in learning more can find me at The Keys of Knowledge Group on Facebook. They can find my website here: www.freeread.com. The best way to find me on Amazon is to place these two words in the search field: “Dewey Immortal”.
