MysticMag meets Marije – a graphic designer turned past life regressionist, hailing from the Netherlands, now living in Berlin Germany. Her journey into this spiritual realm began on her 30th birthday when she received the book ‘Many Lives, Many Masters’ by Brian Weiss. Although always open-minded, the concepts of reincarnation and past life regression were new and intriguing to her. Fascinated by Dolores Cannon’s QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique), Marije became a Level 3 QHHT Practitioner. Now, she finds joy and fulfillment in helping her clients explore their past lives, find answers to life’s questions, and discover their life purpose.
Marije, how does the process of past life regression, specifically connecting with one’s Higher Self, facilitate a deeper understanding of one’s current life circumstances and challenges?
In my work, I often guide individuals through a process known as past life regression, which involves exploring their past lives to gain insight and healing in their current life. One of the techniques I use is called Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT), which consists of three main parts.
First, I spend time discussing my client’s current life. Despite the name, past life regression is actually focused on understanding and addressing their current life situation. This initial discussion can last up to two hours or more, where we delve deep into their life experiences, challenges, and goals.
Next, the client lies down as I guide them through a hypnotic regression. During this phase, they have the opportunity to relive one or multiple past lives. It’s important to note that I am not a channel or psychic; rather, it is the client’s own higher self that accesses this information. I trust in their higher self to guide the experience, ensuring that they only explore what they are ready to handle and what will benefit them most.
Each past life that is revealed during the regression holds symbolic meaning and teachings. However, it is in the final part of the session that we delve into these insights. Here, the client’s higher self speaks through them, answering their biggest life questions and providing guidance and clarity on their life’s path.
Clients prepare for this part by making a list of their most pressing life questions, such as their life purpose or why they are experiencing certain challenges. Through this process, clients gain new understanding and insights that can profoundly impact their current life.
What can you tell us about your journey which has led you to where you are today?
It’s a fascinating story, actually. Until eight years ago, I wouldn’t have considered myself a spiritual person. I would say I was agnostic, though that detail might not matter for the story. I moved to Canada from the Netherlands, and it was in Canada that my spiritual journey began to unfold rather unexpectedly. Soon after moving there, I started experiencing a profound restlessness, a feeling that I was meant to be learning something important but wasn’t quite grasping it. At the time, I was working as a freelance graphic designer, so I initially thought this feeling was prompting me to further my skills in graphic design. I enrolled in courses, but the restlessness persisted.
Then, someone gave me my very first spiritual book, “Many Lives, Many Masters” by Brian Weiss. This book delved into topics like past life regression and reincarnation, and it captivated me. However, it also left me deeply puzzled and confused. Reincarnation was not something I had ever seriously considered, especially coming from a culture like the Dutch, where such ideas were not commonly discussed.
As I delved into the book, trying to make sense of its teachings, a transformative moment occurred the next day. I vividly remember walking to the bathroom, still mulling over the book’s contents and questioning my beliefs. Suddenly, I heard a voice—an external, clear voice that resonated within me. It said, “You knew about reincarnation all along; it’s just time for you to remember it now.” This message hit me like a bolt of lightning, both figuratively and almost physically. I had to sit down on the bed, trying to catch my breath, as an overwhelming, ecstatic feeling washed over me. In that moment, I knew that I needed to delve deeper into the realms of past life regression and spirituality. I realized that there was a vast world out there, one that I had barely explored.
Canada turned out to be the perfect place for this exploration. The people there were incredibly open-minded, friendly, and spiritual, creating an ideal environment for me to delve into these new interests. As I immersed myself in learning, I even discovered how to channel my own spirit guides. They conveyed to me that I was meant to pursue past life regression work—a notion that both thrilled and intimidated me. Despite my uncertainty, I embraced this new path wholeheartedly.
Since then, the restlessness that once plagued me has completely vanished. I now feel as though I am exactly where I am meant to be, at the right time and in the right place.
Can you elaborate on the mechanisms through which past life regression helps individuals uncover and comprehend their life purpose, and how this understanding translates into their present life decisions and perspectives?
Life purpose is a common and significant question that often arises during these sessions. If it’s not initially on a client’s list of questions for their higher self, I usually inquire why they haven’t included it. Many times, they’re surprised and realize they should indeed ask about their life purpose. It’s a beautiful process because when people hear their life purpose from their higher self, there’s often a sense of clarity and relief.
I delve deeply into each aspect of their questions, asking probing questions to uncover the essence of their life purpose. It’s fascinating to see how the head, or the ego, and the heart, or the higher self, offer different perspectives on this question. The higher self’s response often provides a clear and matter-of-fact answer, which can dispel confusion and bring a sense of peace. Clients often express relief as they realize they can now focus on their true purpose without feeling burdened by societal expectations, educational backgrounds, or family influences.
Many clients find that discovering their life purpose confirms something they already felt or knew deep inside. For others, it’s a completely new revelation. Some may initially think their life purpose is tied to their career or specific achievements, but through this process, they often realize that living a life of joy is paramount. This realization shifts their perspective, allowing them to prioritize joy and the quality of their experiences over the pressures of society or personal expectations. This shift enables them to focus on radiating light and positivity into the world, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and purposeful life.
What specific steps and practices do you recommend for individuals to prepare themselves mentally and emotionally for a past life regression session, ensuring a productive and insightful experience?
I deeply believe that when someone enters my space for a one-on-one past life regression, they are already prepared. I trust that their higher self has guided them to this point, inspiring them to explore regression or other spiritual practices. Curiosity, in my view, is often a sign of higher guidance. When a client arrives in my office, I know they are ready; otherwise, they wouldn’t be there.
This belief has been consistently confirmed, as I work with individuals from various backgrounds—some deeply spiritual, others new to spirituality, and even those skeptical of reincarnation. Despite their differences, they all have equal access to their higher selves through past lives. As long as they come with an open mind and curiosity, they are prepared for the experience.
I do provide some basic guidelines for preparation, such as avoiding alcohol, drugs, and excessive caffeine before the session, as well as having a meal beforehand. I also suggest limiting exposure to external information in the days leading up to the regression to clear their consciousness. However, these guidelines are optional and only recommended if the client feels inclined.
The most crucial factor is their motivation to be there. As long as that motivation stems from within them, I know it’s aligned with their higher self’s guidance.
In what ways do you ensure the safety and psychological well-being of clients as they delve into past life memories during regression, particularly when facing potentially intense or emotionally charged experiences?
It’s a profound question, and one that the higher self addresses with utmost care. As I mentioned earlier, the higher self never presents anything that could overwhelm, block, or retraumatize an individual. It holds a deep love and understanding for each person, knowing them more intimately than they know themselves. The higher self is aware of the pre-life plan made before incarnating and always seeks to guide gently, offering clarity and forward movement.
In my experience, during regressions, if there is a physical issue present in the client’s body, I inquire about its origin from the higher self. Sometimes, the higher self attributes it to a past life. When I ask why such a significant past life was revealed, potentially causing physical discomfort, the answer is always the same. The higher self explains that the purpose isn’t for the client to release the trauma through reliving it but for the higher self to facilitate the healing. It’s about releasing the influence of that past life without retraumatizing the individual. This reassurance underscores the safety and compassion of the process.
This is why I hold QHHT in such high regard. It ensures the safety and comfort of my clients, empowering them to learn, grow, and expand at their own pace and in their own time, always respecting their rhythm and readiness. The process is never about overriding their own journey but supporting it in a way that is most beneficial for their growth and healing.
