In the newest edition of MysticMag interviews, we are glad to introduce Wellness Mary, with whom we explore her journey into discovering intuitive gifts, the intricacies of intuitive readings, and the transformative power of spiritual counseling. Delve into her insights on challenges, growth, and the profound impact of her work on individuals’ lives.
When did you discover your intuitive gifts and does everyone have them?
I do believe everyone has them, but they are not something that we are educated on or trained to maintain. I believe that we are all born coming into this world with that connectedness. In my case, my gifts were with me as a child, but I had no understanding that I had them. My family just nixed it off to having imaginary friends and marching to the beat of my own drummer.
However, as I got older and started going into school, that became a real challenge. That’s why I really worked on blocking that out because I didn’t understand all the things I was picking up. It was really challenging for me. Because I was so different, I took the hard road of self-medicating in high school getting into the party scene. I really struggled to try to find my way and place in life, but it wasn’t meant for me to be that way. It was meant for me to do what I’m doing now.
Can you walk me through one of your intuitive readings?
When I start, I open up and I invite in the Holy Spirit and all my guides and angels. Whoever the client is at the time, I also invite their guides and any crossed-over loved ones who may want to come in. However, I only welcome in things that are positive, uplifting, and needed at the time of the reading.
I always say that you can always ask questions, but you may not always get the answers to those questions because it is not the time for you to receive them. Intuitive readings are nothing like fortune telling or predicting. There could be probable outcomes that come through in the reading, but there’s always free will. We always have that free will to make our choices.
Most of this information that comes through represents a validation of the things that are happening presently. That comes through so that the guide or the loved one can make the client realize that they are connected to what’s going on with them. Besides that, there are also things that come through aiming to help the client with whatever is going on in their life. It could be related to relationships or internal struggles, for example. They want to guide the client in the direction of the tools they should be using to work through their issues and heal themselves.
Most people are really their own worst enemy in prison of their mind. I see a lot of similarities in readings, especially nowadays with everything that’s going on and so much fear in the world.
What can you tell me about your spiritual counseling? What issues do people bring to you and how can you help them?
I get clients who come in and are starting to open up to their gifts, trying to understand what’s going on. I work with them in that process. We all receive differently, so there isn’t really a “right” or a “wrong” here. I hear and feel as I’m more clairaudient and clairsentient, and I do also have some clairvoyance. When I was a child, I was more clairvoyant, but that changed over time. Some people work with the same guides throughout, and sometimes that changes. That can easily happen when you open up and you receive messages from other people’s guides.
That’s one reason why people come to me. Another reason is to go through anxieties, fears, or traumas from childhood. It is different than traditional therapy, even though I am educated in spiritual counseling. I’m not just an ordained minister or only using my psychic gifts. I have formal education in spiritual counseling, and I use them in combination with my gifts.
I don’t have a plan of care. I ask for guidance and ask the right questions to get the person to where they need to be. It’s a variety of things that people come to me for, but I would say primarily it’s to really find their sole purpose in life.
Can you share a memorable success story?
I have quite a few, but a recent one is really stuck in my mind right now. I received an e-mail from someone who had met me at one of my live events. I travel a bit, I lecture at those, so we met at one of them. In the email, a woman who met me probably a year ago and received a reading. Now, I don’t always remember what comes through in readings. I remember the person, but not the reading or our conversation, unless it’s something that really shocks and shakes me in a reading.
This woman wanted to let me know how the reading and the messages that she received from me have changed her life. She went on and completed her book. She now has her book published, which represents memoirs of her struggles. I found that really wonderful.
At times I wonder if the work I’m doing is really making a difference, but then I receive an e-mail like that, and I do get many of them. People have changed their lives completely because of what they received through working with me. It’s not just the readings, but through counseling, as well. A lot of people who come to me for readings end up being counseling clients, actually.
You are also a podcast host. What can you tell me about that part of your work?
I was doing a weekly podcast show that I ended in October, but I will be starting another one in the spring, probably around March or April. On my show, I invite guests on because there are so many different modalities out there and so many people who have gone through so many challenges that bring them to where they are today. I find it very important to share that information because there are people out there who feel like they’re alone, but they don’t have to.
I said this many times, but I didn’t start out where I’m at. When people meet me, they need to know that I struggled too, and I had many challenges. However, the greatest growth happens through the hardest challenges in life. I had a great Reiki master, a spiritual healer whom I worked with, and he used to say that life never happens to us, it happens for us. Those words are words of wisdom because the essence is really in how we look at it. When times are hard and we’re challenged, we have to look at where the lesson and the growth are. That is the key. You can’t look at things and wonder “Oh, why is this still happening to me?” because that’s negative energy that you’re putting into it, instead of seeing the positive.
