This week MysticMag had the opportunity to interview Nicky Alan, a seasoned psychic medium and former bereavement-trained Police Detective, whose journey from the police force to spiritual guidance is truly remarkable.
With a background in supporting families of crime victims, Nicky seamlessly blends empathy and experience, delivering messages that may be emotionally charged with a delicate touch. Beyond conventional means, Nicky’s transformative abilities are highlighted in compelling stories where spirit messages have intervened in clients’ health crises, leading to life-saving outcomes.
Balancing her psychic practice, Nicky prioritizes her well-being through daily rituals, including beach walks, meditation, and energy-enhancing crystals, while steadfastly maintaining ethical considerations in her role as a guide for personal empowerment.
How do you handle challenging or sensitive situations when delivering messages to clients, especially if the information may be emotionally charged or difficult for them to hear?
I find it quite easy as I was a bereavement-trained Police Detective for 18 years liaising with rape and murder victim families before I became a full-time medium. It is vital that all working mediums have empathy and are experienced in dealing with people’s raw pain before they even think about doing readings. I will always ask if my client is willing to hear anything that may be sensitive beforehand. I will never change the message but may make it softer in essence when I deliver it.
Can you share a memorable experience where your abilities as a psychic medium had a profound impact on a client’s life, providing them with insights or closure that they may not have found through conventional means?
The readings that always stick out for me are the ones where the sitter’s spirit family saves their lives warning them of a health condition. I had a lovely man in the audience who was a little skeptical who came along with his wife to one of my demonstrations.
The man’s father came through and insisted very strongly that his son must go to the hospital immediately as he had a tumor growing in his stomach. The man didn’t act on his father’s message but noticed that he was getting more fatigued as the weeks went on. In the end, due to his wife continually telling him to go to the doctor, following a scan, a tumor was found.
He was told if he had left it any longer it would have proved fatal for him. I still get messages to this day from him thanking me for saving his life. It wasn’t me though, it was his dad from Spirit!
How do you maintain your own emotional and spiritual well-being while channeling energies and messages from the spiritual realm, and what practices do you employ to ensure a healthy balance in your life?
I am very lucky that I live across the road from a lovely beach. I ground myself daily by walking on the beach or paddling in the sea and sending thoughts up to the Archangels asking for grounding, balance, and tranquillity.
I also use rose quartz and selenite to power me up and enthuse love around my auric field. I lay in Himalayan salt baths enthused with lavender essential oil. I play meditation music when I’m working and use an earthing mat during my day. I drink plenty of filtered water so that it has no impurities (the conduit to the Spirit World).
Every day I exercise gratitude sessions and mindfulness to keep my energy calm and focused. I never allow people around me that drain me or lower my energy. I meditate regularly.
I am consistently pacing my energy to make sure I don’t drain myself and always send up an open frequency to the angel realms so they can let me know when I am overdoing it!
In what ways do you approach skeptics or those who may be hesitant to believe in psychic abilities, and how do you navigate potential skepticism while maintaining the integrity of your work?
To be brutally honest I do not waste my energy on people who need me to ‘prove it’. However, in my younger days, I wanted to bring all of the skeptics into my fold and show them the reality of the afterlife and the angel realms.
Now I live along the concept that as a believer no proof is needed as a sceptic no proof is ever enough. I send healing to the people who think they are alone spiritually on this planet.
My heart yearns for them to wake up as they are missing out on so much magic. They will all realize however that they are infinite souls when they go home and see all their loved ones around them alive and kicking!
Can you discuss the ethical considerations involved in your work as a psychic medium, particularly regarding the boundaries you establish with clients and the responsible use of your intuitive abilities in providing guidance and support?
My main path presently is to assist people in their development and grief but not completely hold them and be their crutch. I am aware that some mediums will not predict certain things. I will bring across any prediction that comes to mind as I have no right to change what has been brought from the source.
I will not allow repeated readings for clients every few months as I feel this is not getting to the root of what the client needs. They need to find their own spirituality and realize that they are supreme being who is connected to the source of living a human experience.
They can heal themselves, lessen their grief eradicate their shadow selves, and connect with the celestial realms if they start spiritual practices themselves. A medium shouldn’t be the lifeline for someone who is lost, they should be the added bonus when one is already working on themselves to eradicate any obstacles during this lifetime experience.
