In this exclusive interview with Kerry Connelly, we delve into her journey into energy healing and the transformative power of Angelic Reiki. How did you get into energy healing and what attracted you to it?
All of my life, I’ve been fascinated by the subtle realms and the Spirit world, and I’ve had experiences throughout my life that can only be considered strange and beautiful connection with these energies. But of course, organized religion made me believe that these things were evil, so I compartmentalized them as singular experiences and just told myself, “Well, that was weird.” But then, I went to seminary, and what I now call my institutional faith was smashed to bits in the best way possible. While I was there, I met a quantum physicist and theologian, and he helped me understand that there is science behind my experiences. That allowed me to, as he said, “just let it be true.” I was able to reconstruct my faith to include these amazing experiences of the Divine that I’d been having all my life.
What is Angelic Reiki and how is it different from other forms of Reiki?
I am trained in traditional Reiki as well, but I find Angel Reiki to be so much more holistic. During a session, I am connecting both with my client’s energetic body — the chakra system, for example — and receiving information from there. However, I’m also connecting with the client’s Spirit team — ancestors, guides, angels, and loved ones — and bringing through messages of wisdom, comfort, and guidance from them. That work is such an honor and a privilege to do.
What can people hope to achieve through your spiritual mentoring?
I love working with Spiritual Mentoring clients! This program is much more like a one-to-one coaching program, but it is specifically designed to help clients discover their own unique intuitive gifts. In our first session, we’ll both connect with the client’s Team to learn from them what they’d most benefit from working on. Then, together we develop a plan of action and as we move through our sessions, regularly practice connecting, and then discussing what came up. So clients can expect to walk away from our time together feeling much more confident in their own intuitive abilities, and more deeply connected to their own higher guidance.
You organize many different workshops. What are the spiritual ones like?
I have learned over time that I am not in control of my workshops — Spirit is. They decide who is going to be there, and what is supposed to be taught. Trust me — I’ve tried to control these things and Spirit always has other plans! And that’s okay. It’s perfect actually. Most often, the synergies and synchronicities in these workshops are amazing. People tend to be going through the same type of thing, and as I always say, Spirit is highly efficient. So messages that come through for one guest are totally meaningful for another. But always, my main priority is helping my guests and clients to be better able to connect to their own guidance. Working with Spirit is always a privilege, but what I do is not special to me. Everyone can access their guidance, and my mission is to help more people do just that.
As a successful author, what books have you written and what are they about?
I am a multifaceted person, which makes personal branding really hard! Much of my published work has fallen into the intersection of spirituality and justice. I am currently in the process of getting my Doctorate of Ministry and am deeply concerned with the ways in which systems of dominance do harm — and unfortunately, spirituality often contributes to that, whether it’s organized religion or what we tend to call “New Age” spirituality. I try to pay attention to that, because we can’t ignore what happens to our bodies while we are incarnated, and most oppression happens at the site of the body. That’s what I talk about in much of my academic and published work — and I always incorporate that mindset into my work with clients. True liberation will only happen when we are ALL free.
Is there anything else about your work that you’d like to share that we haven’t covered?
I honestly believe that light and love workers are being called to awaken right now, and those of us who are answering that call are most likely going through some very tumultuous times right now. In 2024, one of my main focuses is going to be creating a space for lightworkers to work through these issues in a group setting. If that feels like it’s calling to any of your readers, I hope they’ll connect with me now, so they know when that’s getting started. As soon as Spirit is ready to move with that, I’ll be announcing what that will look like, and I sense Spirit is already tapping those people on the shoulder who are meant to be a part of it.
