How did you get into Yoga? What sparked your interest in it?

It was closer to my house than my Tae Kwon Do school, my kids were young and time was at a premium. Tried it and loved it, my muscles were sore and my mind was more serene than it had been in a while. What interested me the most was the mind-body-spirit connection. As I continue my research and studies, it is fascinating when Western research confirms and affirms what the ancient yogis taught millennia ago.

What are the benefits of practicing Yoga on a regular basis?

That depends on the kind of yoga you practice, is it for cross training? Chair yoga? Hot Yoga? The truth is that the ancient sage Patanjali defined yoga as the capacity to calm the chatterbox mind; everything else is a tool in service to that goal: the breathing practice, the physical workout, the meditation, everything!

What can people expect from your Yoga Teacher Training?

I found that the 2 biggest pain points for Yoga Teacher Training are: 1. the cost; 2. the time needed. My training has tackled both by being hybrid in-person and virtual.

What is the difference between private and corporate Yoga work that you do?

Private classes are often with other people, like friends or family members and it is more relaxed. In the corporate classes, I need to work harder at getting the group to be at ease with each other during the practice.

What are your Yoga retreats like?

We go to a beautiful location (the next one is in Jamaica). In Jamaica, we rented the entire property, for our group. It is a house with cottages around and we have a cook on the property for us. There are 3 yoga, meditation, and breath practices for 3 days that are not obligatory e.g. the morning practice starts at 8.30 am with meditation and reflection and breathing after breakfast if you want to sleep in, do it! The food is all vegetarian and vegan, so it can be considered a detoxing vacation as well.
